The fraudulent claim is on her mother so Chidima cannot be charged or prosecuted for the alleged act however the outcome of her mother's status does affect her status if it is found that SA citizenship was obtained fraudulently by her mother.  

Currently children of non citizens fall under the citizenship of their parents, I would assume she has been issued an ID and possibly passport document pending outcome of the case. If her current status is voided and subsequently revoked this does not necessarily mean she does not have other recourse, but I avoid discussing the legal details here because I believe there are home affairs and South African spies on this forum who are hell bent on making sure this girl does not succeed in her case in any way.

He is correct. You only need to search the immigration act which you can access on the Home affairs website. Children born in South Africa can only become citizens by birth to both or one SA parent or by descent if born outside South Africa.

There are laws that allow the acquisition of South African citizenship for children born to non south africans in South Africa provided they meet certain regulations.
