Most female lawyers study law to get married and most males just to be addressed as The Bar. Lol.

80% have not read much hence are empty ... That's why old lawyers are the boss.
Very wrong assumptions. You just don't say things without a critical reasoning. There's nothing like old lawyers being the boss here, there are old lawyers who are still struggling while those who are just 4 years post call have made it.
The problem with legal practice in Nigeria is that everyone wants to do samething, if its not Criminal, its corporate while there are several areas one can carve a niche from.

Exactly my thought. It's not what it used to be
Law isnt over rated ma. Not everyone will be successful at same time. The few you tagged charge and bail are only by waiting for their own time, even Engineering graduates, Medical Doctors, etc all have those who can't fend for themselves after school which result in their doing things they never thought they would. To me, this is uncalled for.
CareerRe: Is The Legal Profession As Lucrative As It Used To Be? by BREYZ: 6:12pm On Jul 18, 2020
Vianna:
In my opinion, I think it's no longer as lucrative as it used to be and it's a very sorry situation. A lot of lawyers roaming the streets, they are suffering. Some of the many problems are

1. Too many graduates, little job slots

2. Senior colleagues are not ready to give the younger ones a chance

Most lawyers are "charge and bail" . They roam the streets and advertise their services to potential clients and they don't even have a place to call office. Many of them loiter in court premises all day under the hot sun and await the arrival of the police, hoping that the police would bring some accused persons who do not have lawyers to defend them. The moment this happens, the lawyer would approach the accused (usually agberos, louts and unfortunate Nigerians who the police had decided to transfer his frustrations on. ) and offer his service either directly to the accused persons, or through his relatives or friends who followed him to court. After a certain meagre fee is paid. The lawyer will appear before the magistrate and orally apply for bail, which in most cases would be granted if the offence(s) is a bailable one.

Being a lawyer in today's Nigeria is overrated, studying in school for 5 years to become a lawyer is a waste of time. To me it's more meaningful if used as a part time job while you venture into business or entrepreneurship.
Speak for yourself young lady, don't condemn someone's profession just because of an unfortunate few. Be guided please

If you must have your way in Nigeria, you must learn how to press button even if you stole 10 trillion naira. It's quite unfortunate that these men have mastered this antics and that's why they are never perturbed whenever they steal and are brought before a court of competent jurisdiction they know they will surely have their way. Corruption is now an occupation in Nigeria

The Nigeria issue really is bad. And its good that we already know that its ONLY possible to make change if and only if we do it in a group formation. Remember, there is ALWAYS POWER IN NUMBERS.

The question is HOW do we as Nigerians get this change we NEED?
We have a lot of problems which birth more problems making Nigerians find it hard to live in Nigeria.
•Political thuggery,

•Police /SARS brutality (I have been on gun point with the police for at least twice for absolutely no reason).,

•Election rigging,

•Unemployment (imagine jobless Nigerian buying Jobs especially govt jobs as high as 250,000 per slot, that's if you'll even get the job.

•Gross decay of our educational system,

•Mind blowing corruption ( like seriously, in Nigeria -snakes can swallow Billions of Naira, rats can invade a presidential villa and Billions be spent to repel the rats. and its fine for our government to dole out this crazy news knowing that dumb Nigerian will just make jokes about it and calm down, comedy is all we like right?

Worse so, youths don't have jobs in Nigeria and worst is that other countries either deny us entry or restrict Nigerians from employment in their countries. This makes us stuck in odd positions of unemployment, impoverished living, stress etc while our Rulers are killing us in and out.

The list of our wahala is endless and mostly linked to our government (both the voters and the voted for and more especially the clowns that refuse to ever vote).

So the question is still. What or How can the change be achieved?

All of us youths need to come together as one whether Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Muslim, Christian, or traditionalist we have to fight this collective

We should try as much as we can to get students and young professionals involved in this movement. It is our movement, our future, our lives, and our country at stake. We can't be as docile as our parents had been to leave it all to the demons while sitting like lame ducks who'd complain and resort to prayers of "God dey" to wish it out. We are taking action to wrest our country from the stranglehold of the vampires such that our kids born and unborn would be proud of us when they hear or read the history of our patriotism and quiet revolt.

Needless to say , the so called 20 years of democratic dispensation has not only dispensed with the lives and welfare of the Nigerian people, the so called transition is notting but a transition from military dictatorship to civilian authoritarianism. The past 20years have however revealed that the PDP & APC have no fundamental difference other than such difference that exists between an armed robber and 419. both anti-poor parties are like the biblical satan who have only come to steal from the masses , kill them with bullets of poverty , insecurity , inadequate healthcare and finally to wreck destruction on their Future.

The AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS on the other hand is a revolutionary party of vibrant , angry and hungry Nigerian Young people, student, worker artisan and peasants who are frustrated by the anti-poor character of the s yes ten and desire to see a revolution that restructures our economy into summer That serves the needs of millions of Nigerians in place of t yes current arrangement that only services the greed of powerful and corrupt few

If you fail to push him(Omoyele Sowore) to be the change that Nigeria needs, I guarantee you... it will cost you another sixty years.
- Marricke Kofi Gane

If there might be a Revolution , it should be collective, don't put him at the forefront.

No wonder he doesn't protest again nor come on TV to wag his tongue anyhow. All those who protested in 2014/2015 have all gone into hiding because they are now shareholders in the loots recovered. It's quite shameful.

Nigerians, una see wetin una so called Human rights activists dey do? Truthfully Human right activism in Nigeria died the day the Great Gani Fawehinmi died, in essence, Human right activists don die finish.
