Something new for our money-miss-road kleptocrats to aspire to, A ballroom lit with chandeliers of solid gold. A 50-seat theater and nine cocktail lounges. Three helicopter pads and six underground floors of parking. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/05/antilla-worlds-most-expen_n_779409.html |

This core of this story is important; however can the mod change the title to a more relevant one? We are all clear now that it is not the lagos badagry expressway contract. The road in question is the Ikotun Idimu Iyana Ipaja one I used to live along the Idimu Iyana Iba axis, and I had to pass through Egbeda, even when going to Apapa. Even then, the spot in front of Idimu Police station was a nightmare. I dread to think the state it must be in now |

as for me, I stopped flying AF the day I almost got beaten up by their mad security personnell at CDG. After an uneventful flight from MMA, we were queued up to disembark & there were these guys at the arrival gate screening randomly. I got pulled to one side, along with 2 other Nigerian guys and some Chinese sailors. The flight was full and we were about to miss our connecting flights, so we politely asked the guys to do whatever verifications they needed to do so we could catch our flights in time. Of course they ignored us, so we repeated our polite request in a louder tone of voice. This was drawing the attention of other passengers (we were still at the arrival gate), so one of the guys asked us to follow him, You know 'Tango City' at MMA? Well, they took us to the CDG version, deep in the bowels of the complex. As soon as we got there, 1st thing they did was lock the door. Next a hulking black guy (he was pushing 7ft, I swear!) walked up to us and said - you guys were making noise outside, let me tell you, if you make any noise here, I will beat you up and NOTHING WILL HAPPEN! - I thought I was in a Lagos police station. Well, I kept my peace till I got my British passport back, and caught my connecting flight by the skin of my teeth. that was it for me, and this was after about 10 trips with AF. Never Again. |

CAF says they should have gone by air The rebels that have machine guns: dont they also have surface to air missiles? I think the bigger question is why stage the competition in an area (Cabinda) that has an active rebel movement? I don't blame Togo for pulling out; 30 mins under fire is no good for their state of preparedness |

The simple truth is that as long as there's money to be shared, the looters will band together. These people have no tribal, religious or political boundaries, but they go to great lengths to make everyone think otherwise. As long as there is money to steal, Nigeria will be one. However, watch out people. Oil is going the way of coal, and come the day, it will be Yugoslavia all over again and our people will be free once again to determine their own destinies. So don't lose your mind Aisha, trouble not yourself over the Nightmare callled Nigeria, continue to perform your miracles one child at a time, and your efforts will be writ large when tales of this sad, sad time are told in times to come. Hi All I just registered expressly to comment on this thread. I've been lmao at some of the posts. The biggest problem we have as a nation is that we are constantly in denial. Most people will turn on their oppressors when their backs are against the wall. Nigerians will turn on the wall and push it back, saying to themselves 'All is well' and woe betide anyone who tells them otherwise. Let us all pray against 'Toad in hot water syndrome' (if you don't know what that means, Google is your friend!) To the posters who have been villifying the OP, wtf is wrong with you! now that events have proved him/her right, will you now learn to deal with information in an objective manner in future? There is nothing wrong in disagreeing/refuting someone else's opinion. However, in order to keep the discourse at a level where all can learn, I think it is important not to cast aspersions/abuse when one can't think of anything else to say. For the record I firmly believe in dissemination of the truth of a situation at ALL times. I don't care where it comes from - insider, whistleblower (like OP), whereever. We need to understand as a nation that TRUTH will always set us free in the long run. Our leaders encourage us to bury the truth, saying 'many will suffer if the truth is told', People, NEVER fall for that BS. We are where we are because TRUTH is not being told in Nigeria Lastly, to Osamaobama: keep the faith, and keep on telling the TRUTH. Muchlove. |
