Hi everyone. I recently booked an appointment for my passport renewal in ottawa by October. I will be flying from Calgary, and I will like to know the process if anyone has done that before. Is it possible, if I get there early (my appointment is for 9:30am and it's written that it's a guide only and doesn't mean I will be attended to at that time) to be done before 3:30pm? I want to book my flight and want to know if same day renewal is possible. What's the process like? Thanks. |

Magnifico2000: Congratulations on passing the exams. It seems you have a good command of English before writing the test thus making it easier to ace it once.
What of those that don't really have high command of English, what do you advice? the Jay videos I watched on YouTube actually helped. I also used the writing template recommended by him. |

I wrote IELTS, my first attempt on the 6th of July and I passed.
LRSW 997.57
I practiced with ieltsonlinetests.com for the reading and listening section, I think I did like three practice tests a week for 2 months; then i subscribed to E2 IELTS on youtube and watched all Jay and Alex's video on reading and listening as well as writing and speaking. I only practiced writing and speaking for one week using Alex and Jay's video. I registered with British Council online and was given access to the Road to IELTS page, I only did the free practice tests and watched the tutorials on the page. I just stuck to the BC materials, and did not want to use too many sources and clearly it worked for me.
My CRS is currently at 453. I am tempted to go for a remark for my writing as I feel I can get up to 7.5, this will boost my CRS to 456. However, my document evaluation with PEBC is ongoing and might take up to 8 weeks by which time the CRS cut-off might have decreased for me to get ITA at 453.
Really thankful I passed at first attempt, would have broken my heart if I had to dash British Council £170 again. |

Hi everyone. I am currently in the UK and want to certify some documents. The private notaries I have contacted want to charge me an arm and a leg. I will like to know whether anyone have successfully certified their documents at the post office or their bank. I will like to know if I can get it done anywhere without fees. I have contacted my local court where it's free but the latest date of appointment given is June but I want to get it done by Tuesday. |

OK, thanks nat138: Rule of thumb is to have your medicals as close to application submission as possible. Simply because medicals have a one year validity and as much as you maybe sure of ITA soon if that is even predictable these days. If you are not able to submit your application on time and it stretches to the 60days period which is almost 2/3 months on your medicals already and your application takes a long time to decide, your medicals might expire or if PPR is granted very close to medical expiry, you will need to redo medicals at some point |

Hotfreezer: Igbos have a right to vote who they want to vote. Those who would vote Buhari in the SE would vote him.
Buhari would win the election and Igbos would start crying marginalisation and Biafra again. That's when they would see pepper. We won't see pepper. We didn't vote him in 2015 and we are fine. Our lives are better. We won't vote him in 2019, and we will still.be fine. |

johnmix12: I am a thirty four year old mother of three.
At the moment, I am gainfully self-employed. I have a B.Eng in Chemical engineering
Sick and tired of Nigeria, I want to travel abroad to give my kids, my family a better chance.
I have on my wishlist for 2019 a goal to gain admission to study a professional course in a developed country abroad. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK. Nursing.
Please I need your wisdom, Nairalanders.
1st question: Which country outside Africa, Asia, will give me peace of mind, security, comfort and lowest racism if I relocate there with my children? I’m looking for a country that will allow me to permanently live in with my kids after i’m done with my professional course.
2nd question: What professional course would you advise me to study in this country abroad to give me the best chances of living a very comfortable, very good life there.
Your replies will be deeply appreciated. |

Those embracing Atiku and Obi have the lowest voting population. It's not enough to win anything.
Next time, go and register for PVC when others are doing so and stop following an albino lunatic about shouting Biafra. And if they win? |

Atiku himself knows nobody want him from the south west
They only want his money And those are paid crowds
Same way we chopped Jonathan’s money 3 years ago Same thing will happen next year
Say no to the fugitive You chopped Jonathan's money and voted for Buhari, and your life and that of your family members improved in the last four years. |
