PoliticsBuhari Has Betrayed Nigerian Youths With His Analog Ministers – Labour Party by BrosPeter(op): 9:25pm On Oct 06, 2015
National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, has said that he is disappointed with the list of nominees presented to the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari, almost five months after his inauguration, saying most of the names on the list are analog persons who have nothing to contribute.

The LP boss also wondered why President Buhari could not fulfill the promise he made to the Nigerian youths during the electioneering campaign.

Reacting to the list of the ministerial nominees read by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday at the floor of the Senate, the LP national chairman urged Nigerians not to expect much from the government of the day.

The list contained 21 nominees for ministerial positions as proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari from 21 states of the federation.

However, while offering his opinion and against the expectations that the ministerial team will comprise highly respected and credible professionals, Abdulsalam described most of those that made the Buhari team as far from the clean Nigerians being taunted.

“For us in Labour Party, we do not see anything that resembles change as far as the ministerial team is concerned. Imagine bringing someone who served in the government of the late Sarduana of Sokoto to serve as minister in 2015, Buhari has nothing to offer Nigeria. There is no promise of change at all, all these people are analogue persons who cannot bring about any change under the current dispensation, ” he said.

On the fight against corruption, Abdusalam said most the former governors on the list of nominees are been investigated by the anti graft agencies.

“What does Buhari mean when he brought all the PDP people into the much-taunted change administration? Most of the ministerial nominees are on the indicted list of the EFCC.

“That is to say that the change that the APC and Buhari promised Nigerians is nothing but a fluke and fraudulent. If this was the list that Buhari kept to his chest for five months then be sure that the balance that makes up the 36 may never come out in good time.

”It is also very unfortunate that Nigerian youths who make up the greater percentage of our population and who voted for Buhari massively were not give their due share in the ministerial nomination,” he said.

Labour Party believed that for President Buhari to say the list is from him alone was to say the list.

“Buhari has succeeded in creating problems for in some states. For instance in Niger state where I come from, the governor is from Kotangora and the person he has nominated is also from Kotangora. In Pleatue, the governor Lalung and Dalung are from the same local government. In Oyo state, Barrister Shitu who has been rejected by all the APC people, he has included his name on this list. For us in Labour Party did not see anything like change here. Is it Audu Ogbe that is of change or who?”

Wike orders release of teachers’ arrears

As part of measures to boost the morale of Teachers, the Rivers State Government has directed the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission to ensure the prompt release of teachers’ promotion and payment of arrears due them.

The State Governor, Nyesom Wike stated this, in commemoration of the 2015 World Teachers’ Day Celebration, in Port Harcourt with the theme “Empowering Teachers, Building sustainable societies.”

Governor Wike, who was represented at the occasion by his Deputy Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo, was optimistic that with the zeal displayed by the New Management of the State Civil Service Commission, issues of promotion and the associated entitlements for workers would be adequately addressed.

He described Teachers as critical elements in the enhancement of society, noting that the Present Government is a ‘Teacher-friendly’ administration that holds the teaching profession in high esteem.

The State Chief Executive noted that the present administration was committed to addressing the welfare needs of the Teachers to enhance increased productivity.

According to him, “Rivers State Government attaches importance to the teaching profession and therefore declared Monday School free to celebrate the day”, he asserted.

The Governor commended the teachers for their massive turn out at the event, pointing out that as character moulders, they must live up to their responsibilities, adding that the State Government would strive to fulfill its promises to the people, by giving education priority attention.

On his part, State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Rivers State Wing, Comrade Nkpogone Lucky, said the World Teachers Day was created by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 1966, as a Day for employers and employees to exchange ideas and plan the best strategies towards realizing objectives of education.

Comrade Lucky, said sustainable society could only be built through quality education where teachers were drivers and therefore called for adequate incentives to motivate educators to give their best.

My advice.. Conduct fresh election in Rivers State.

All police and military should be deployed there.. And let's watch.
Why only Rivers state, why not the entire country? Any election conducted by Buhari's daughter inlaw Zakari would be null and void.

PoliticsAsari Dokubo Accuses DSS Of Taking Down His Facebook Account by BrosPeter(op): 12:50pm On Sep 22, 2015
Spokesperson to the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front (NDPSF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro, yesterday alleged that the Facebook account of Asari Dokubo has been disabled by the Department of State Services (DSS).

In a statement yesterday to inform the media of the development, titled: “Buhari and APC: Depotism and the Confiscation of Freedom of Expression: Time Bomb Waiting to Explode”, Asari’s spokesman said, “The eclipse of freedom of expression is now abysmally manifest.”

He said the DSS has finalised plans to begin the arrest and detention of opposition activists especially those on social media network.

Ekigbo said the account was disabled after Dokubo Asari began a serialised article on his Facebook page on the gaffes and hypocrisy of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stated: “Although we are not surprised at this junta’s long awaited modus, it remains a sad commentary that we are back to stone age where press freedom is endangered.

Ekiugbo said their investigation revealed that President Buhari through his media aides had begun the systematic dismantling of accounts of all strong and key opposition voices in the social media network through frivolous petitions of ‘inciting public unrest and the making of hate speeches’ to management of Facebook in their desperate moves to control the network media space.

Tongue-in-cheek, we are told the appointments were made strictly on merit. But since when did the North acquire a monopoly of merit in Nigeria? How can the region with regularly low cut-off JAMB scores suddenly become the citadel of the most meritorious public servants in the country?

Kogi 2015: James Faleke emerges Abubakar Audu’s running mate
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has officially picked James Abiodun Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as its deputy governorship candidate for Kogi State, northcentral Nigeria.

Faleke, chairman of the House Committee on Ethics, Anti-corruption and National Values in the Seventh Assembly, was also former two time chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State as well as ex-Chairman of Conference 57, umbrella organisation for the chairmen of the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs in Lagos State.

Faleke’s choice was regarded a round peg in a round hole which was applauded by many especially leaders of the party at all levels.

This was based on account of his commitment and loyalty to the party.

He has emerged as one of the younger elements of committed party members thus an integral member of the engine room of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Faleke has undertaken several assignments for the party and came out with flying colours, the most recent being his sterling performance as the Coordinator of the Lagos Office of the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation.

Highlight of his role then was organising a walk-to-freedom programme during which hundreds of thousands of party supporters and members including the current Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; Senator Oluremi Tinubu among others participated.

In 2011, Faleke was also in the trenches in Kogi State campaigning and working for Audu who was then governorship candidate of the former Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Faleke is also a deep rooted grassroots mobiliser who is well loved by many for several qualities including humility, loyalty, commitment and diligence.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced James Abiodun Faleke as the deputy governorship candidate of the party for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Faleke is currently the a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and had served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Ethics, Anti-corruption and National Values in the Seventh Assembly.

According to PM News, Faleke is also former two time chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.

Many political commentators have opined that the choice of Faleke was made in order to reward him for his loyalty to the leadership of the party leadership, especially National Leader, Bola Tinubu, and is said to be integral member of his (Tinubu’s) “engine room.”
