I think what you refer to is a near death Experience (NDE): I don't have a personal experience but the driver of my place of work did and the wife of a friend.

Driver:
He "passed out" in the teaching hospital at Ilorin after he recieved an emergency call that his younger brother was involved in an accident and is in the emergency ward.

He said that he saw himself by the bank of a river and he was searching for a boat to take him across. He said it was like for ages and no boat. Suddenly, two men behind him spoke to him and said "Young man, if you cross this river, you are not coming back again!". He said he ignored them because his intent was to cross the river. However, the men repeated the statement again to him AND then he turned round to look at them: only to feel like a gallon of water all over his body.

He was on the floor with people trying to revive him!

A friends wife
She just had baby through CS and at the hospital. She wanted stand up to use the toilet while the husband said she should use the bed pan. She refused, stood up and went anyways. As she was returning back to her bed, she collapsed on the floor.

She said she saw herself with her dead twin sister who grabbed her hand and told her to run with her to an unknown destination. She said they both started running so fast as if to quickly beat the time to a destination.

While they were running, she heard her husband call her name and she turned back to look only to be jolted up with a serious pain and an awareness that she was on the floor.

You don't need to believe the big bang for it to be true but you only need to work overtime and be flexible enough in your thinking to disprove the fact that it never happened by going against every laws in physics. Secondly, You also don't need to believe in evolution even though it's still taking effect and man lifespan on earth is too short to observe the changes.

I once went swimming at Bar Beach and drank the ocean dry. When I was pulled out I said "what you all looking at?" And everyone laughed. I was embarrassed at everyone staring at my pata majidun, those multicoloured ones the mallahs used to wear when collecting sand at Majidun in those days.

I also once downed 30, 10mg Valium tablets and passed out and had my stomach pumped at Ikeja General. I swear, I was only trying to sleep.
