Politics › Re: PDP Will Be Taken To Court For The Lawless Things They Did In Rivers- Buhari by Bugatie(m): 9:47am On Apr 19, 2015 |
SleekyP: President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to take legal action against the persons responsible for the lawless acts perpetrated by the Peoples Democratic Party in the elections of Rivers and Lagos states.
Buhari says that PDP desperately wanted to be in control of the two states and as such employed various tactics, such as inducement and violence to make sure the polls favoured them.
He made the comments in an interview with Vanguard, where he also lauded the doggedness of Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Read below an excerpt from the interview.
“For what happened in Lagos, I think that for whatever political reason, the PDP wanted to have Lagos by all means.
I have a lot of respect for the governor of Rivers State for his courage. At a certain time, the Commissioner of Police virtually hijacked the state and the governor was virtually sentenced to the streets fighting thugs without law enforcement agents while the Constitution makes it very clear that the governor is the Chief Security Officer of the state.
So, a lot of lawless acts of the PDP are on record and we intend to make the PDP understand it and make sure that, according to the law, those who are responsible for that are taken to the court and properly charged. We are in this system because we believe in it and we want it to stabilize because it is good for our country. If Nigerians have the confidence that their votes count, then they will mind their business and I assure you that there will be more security in the country.
But when people feel that they are abandoned, then they will resist. I think that by nature, human beings are rebels especially in Nigeria. You must try and placate them, convince them and show them that their rights are respected or you will not have peace. On what we hear about the money that changed hands, it would have been impossible for APC to win anything in this country because we don’t have the treasury in our pocket. There was no amount of money that could convince Nigerians this time around.
A lot of them took the money and did exactly what their conscience wanted them to do, while some even returned the money. Somehow, Rivers and Lagos were seen as strategic to the PDP. Otherwise, how could APC have a marginal 100,000 votes over APC in Lagos which is virtually the capital of the APC in the South- West? A lot of things will come out, but we want to do it basically on facts which can be verified and quantified.” Guy back your post with a source and I'll drop a word for Mr President elect |

LexNuel: Hehehehe u be merlin? LexNuel: Nairalanders... The much anticipated change is here. What now is the way forwrd?. What are your expectations frm the new govt?.. Wat is ur definition of change? For me I want the govt to focus on projects that will have a high positive multiplier effect on the economy. Projects like power stabililty, high unemployment reduction ,agriculture (especially small scale), etc. This will not happn overnight but I xpect dis govt to shw us strategy in place to solve dese issues. This is my opinion..let's hear yours Very simple, Stabilise world oil price Make #1 equal to $1. Pay 5k to every unemployed youth. Ensure each Nigerian has a roof over his head. Provide light for a minimum of 20hrs daily, Then I can shout Sai! |

My point is we have to be careful with the messages we broadcast else the news of a Nigerian being attacked can make our people here irrespective of tribe to revolt and start reprisal killings against South Africans here in Nigeria |

A chilling story from a Nigerian who lives in Centurion, South Africa about an attack on another Nigerian in Johannesburg today. Meanwhile, how many of you have watched those horrible videos on Facebook showing the killing of African immigrants? And they are attacking children. In one video, some children were beaten, tied up and the men poured gasoline on their body. Can't share the videos here...go on Facebook. Can't believe this is happening in 2015.
lindaikeji..com.es/2015/04/nigerian-reportedly-attacked-in.html?m=1 A report like this needs to be confirmed before some people over start a reprisal attacks on South Africans and their interests. |

Collynzo9: I told those who were mocking him after the Presidential elections that the man did the right thing by joining the winning party in his state. The Presidential and National assembly result in Rivers was a clear sign that PDP is the only party in the state, yet people kept mocking him. Now that the party has won the state's Gubernatorial election with a landslide, doesn't it prove that he made the right decision by leaving the sinking ship of APCat the dying minute?
Now that Amaechi's political irrelevance has been proven beyond doubt by his own people, let us see the position he can get in Abuja (if he can declare his assets) It's only the politically short-sighted folks that laughed at him. Today, Tere has played himself into the incoming govt and will at least hold his shoulder high with respect unlike Amaechi who is left to lobby for a chief of staff position by Wike. |

PdP is leading with 63k votes already. The remaining areas has slightly above 100k eligible voters. There is no way turnout will be more that 60%. In such case, PDP has won irrespective of the eventual result in the rescheduled areas. Mind you it is Pdp stronghold.
Btw: you apc guys always cry "rigging" when you lose(even in Rivers). But u turn blind eye to child voters up north and rigging by apc. Hypocrisy...#Change indeed!!!!

Politics › Re: Don’t Vote Until You See Result Sheets, Amaechi Tells Rivers APC Members by Bugatie(m): 1:03am On Apr 10, 2015 |
emusmith: PORT HARCOURT— GOVERNOR Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has warned that members of his All Progressives Congress, APC,will not vote in tomorrow’s election if they do not see result sheets at polling centres.
He also said that an alleged renewed upsurge in militancy in parts of the state ahead of tomorrow’s governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections was as a result of the alleged quest by Mrs. Patience Jonathan, the First Lady, to control the affairs of the state and further mastermind the rigging of the elections in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The governor, yesterday in Port Harcourt, at a stakeholders meeting, said: “We will not vote if we don’t see result sheets. Ask the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officials for the result sheets. If they fail to produce them, then form a human ring around the INEC officials and together with the security men escort the ad-hoc staff to the local government headquarters and lodge your complaints. But make sure nobody votes in any unit where the original result sheets are not produced. We will not accept photocopies.
“We will do what we did in our village; we call it the Obima formula. Our youths usually lock down the village. No one comes in and no one goes out. I am pleading that INEC should not endanger the lives of its staff by holding on to the original result sheets.
“Don’t allow any INEC official to leave your unit or your village if he or she fails to do the right thing. This time nobody will write fake results and go scot free. Don’t allow voting to commence until you see the result sheets. And also ensure that the results of your units are announced and pasted by the INEC officials before they leave,” he said.
The governor also said he had assurances from security agencies that adequate security arrangement had been put in place to secure lives and property during and after the elections.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/dont-vote-until-you-see-result-sheets-amaechi-tells-rivers-apc-members/ You can imagine this tout of a governor. So what does he intend to do if the bolded happens, he'll kill them all? Our supposed leaders should watch their utterances. |

Built2last: Aside the excessive audacity which breeds arrogance and pride with Igbos, This is the part i like about Igbos...Everything is business...let truth be told. Igbos are way ahead in business in Nigeria.
I entered Ladipo market one day and couldnt find one shop owned by a Yoruba man in the two hours i spent there. I think business is genetic for them. can you remember the ''my oga at the top stuff'' while some of us typed on the internet, Aba boys were thinking business. Mbaka spoke against GEJ, few days after, (Mbaka but why T. shirt was all over the market). They seem not interested in white collar jobs like every other tribe. If we have more entrepreneurs, the faster we come out of the corruption in public and civil service.
When i finished NYSC, i was retained in the bank with one Emeka boy..I remember during the interview, one of the panelists said, Emeka, you are supposed to be in Aba or Alaba, what are you doing here? the Igbo jokingly said, its capital am looking for..six years after, the Igbo boy resigned, we never knew he was combining banking with real estate business..on saturdays he was a house searching agent. he told me he sold two houses in Ikoyi and resigned...
Till i left the bank, his salary account was in millions...doing so well in business, the latest he told me last year was that, one of the panelists in that our interview is now his account officer...I just love the business part of them and maybe the way they adore their wives and children. They take family very seriously. Emeka is so wealthy and lavishes his wealth on his wife and 3 boys. Needless to say he inspired me into business and i am doing well too, but not anywhere near Emeka.
Throw them into the Lagoon and see the potentials of that water developed by them. Business is a spirit in them most of us find difficult to appreciate. I propose a 1000/thousand likes for this post! Making brains |
