Politics › Re: Tinubu Demands Apology From Saraki, Dogara On National Dailies - Vanguard by Bugatie(m):
dayo23:
Although the ongoing crisis in the All Progressives Congress does not seem to be ending soon, the party’s national leader has hinted what the senator president, Bukola Saraki and speaker, house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara can do to pacify him.Vanguard reports that the national leader is still not happy with Saraki and Dogara as he feels he was seen as unimportant when the duo went against his order to place Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabimila as the APC candidates for the elections in the house.
There have been moves by some chieftains in the party wage peace into the matter but an insider made it known that Tinubu wants both Saraki and Dogara to tender and publish a full page apology publicly on national dailies.

The source further said that an extended meeting of the national leaders of the party with APC governors involved had been fixed for next week. The meeting, it was learnt, would hold either Monday or Tuesday.

“You don’t joke with the man (Tinubu). He said they must make a public apology to him using the newspapers. A meeting that will involve all APC governors has been scheduled to hold either on Monday or Tuesday. Wait and see what will happen. They have to do it”, the source said.

Meanwhile, the senate and the APC might face another round of crisis over principal positions in the upper chamber.

Politics › Re: APC Will Be Glad If Ekwerenmadu Resigns, Says Oyegun by Bugatie(m):
Editor1:
John Oyegun, national chairman of the All Progressives
Party (APC), has said the APC will be “very, very glad” if Ike
Ekweremadu, a high-ranking member of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), resigns his position as deputy
senate president of the eighth national assembly.
Ekweremadu, a senator representing Enugu west
constituency, emerged deputy senate president last
Tuesday for a third consecutive time, against APC’sanointed
candidate, Mohammed Ali Ndume.
While speaking with Channels television on ‘Roadmap
2015′ , Oyegun said his party was in charge of the national
assembly but would have to grapple with issues like
Ekweremadu’s emergence.
When asked if his party would want Ekweremadu’s
resignation, he said: “Those are issues we would grapple
with, the important thing now is to get our government in
place.
“If he wants to resign, we would be very very glad, but for
now, as at today, our mission is to get the senate settled to
get them at work.
“We are in charge; we are in control. There’s no question
about that. The aspect of an Ekweremadu may be an
aggravation, but we have to continue to work until things
resolve themselves and things would resolve themselves.”
He said by the end of one year in office, fairly dramatic
results would start to become a reality in the Nigerian public
life, adding that after four years, he wants the Nigerian
people to be grateful they voted the APC.
“We want to do it in such a way that at the end of four
years, most Nigerians would say thank God we voted APC ,
thank God we voted Buhari.”
Oyegun took responsibility for the crisis in the party, but
said “the blame for certain actions I refuse to take”.
Speaking on the demand for his resignation by some
members of the party, the 75-year-old said it would be
unnecessary, as the APC civil war had ended.
“The civil war in the party has ended,” he said. “Like I said,
the focus is, look gentlemen, let us not allow this distract us
from the pact we have with the Nigerian people.”
APC had elected Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila for
the leadership of the two chambers of the 8th national
assembly, but their resolution was upset by Bukola Saraki,
Yakubu Dogara and many PDP lawmakers who ensured the
emergence of the later.

Is there anyone in the house who will be kind enough to educate me on how to process one? Closest to a BG that I've seen is an ATC (authority to collect) from a cement plant.

Okay,

A bank guarantee is of different types.

Don't know how best to explain but I'll try;
The commonest of bank guarantee I have come across are Advanced payment Guarantee, Bid bond and insurance bond.

The Advanced Payment guarantee involves 3 parties; you (the contractor), the bank and the client(say govt or any other company).

Here, the client requests the contractor to obtain/get APG from a reputable bank sort of covering the contract value. Basically, the essence of the APG is for the client to hold the bank responsible in case of default in contract execution.

When the APG is given by the bank, the client pays straight into the contractors account, and the bank now releases the money to the contractor in piecemeal according to agreed percentage and level of work done.

For the Bid bond/guarantee, 3 parties are also involved.
Most companies will ask their bidders/contractors to secure a bid bond from their bankers before they are allowed to bid for any job or contract.
The reason is to make sure that the bidder has the capacity to perform such contract.

Please note also that these services by bank come with a charge.

If you have any job that require a bank guarantee, you can approach your bank and ask more question or pm me.

Read the press statement below...

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the
Presidency to stop making mockery of governance with premature celebration of imaginary achievements except if the intention is to set up President Muhammadu Buhari for national and international ridicule.

The party said it was embarrassing that the APC and aides of President Buhari decided to invade the minds of Nigerians with propaganda and tissues of lies instead of assisting the President who was inaugurated three weeks ago to settle down, form a government and deliver his campaign promises to Nigerians.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Thursday said “the nation and democrats world over were thoroughly embarrassed by the frivolous list of so-called achievements which has further exposed APC’s lack of capacity and direction as well as the inability to draw a line between propaganda by an opposition party and disseminating of credible information as a party in government”.

“How can a serious government start shouting achievements and make bogus claims on the fight against terrorism when the effort is apparently losing steam as insurgents who had already been pushed to the verge of surrender in the Sambisa forest by the Goodluck Jonathan administration are now surging back into the country under the APC-led government?

“How can a serious government shout achievement based on pledges by foreign interests, a dangerous slide towards neo-colonialism, instead of settling down to galvanize bequeathed resources and potentials that have already placed our great country as one of the fastest emerging economic and political powers in the world?

“How can a serious government shout achievement and attempt to explain away the untidy fact that after three weeks, it has not been able to organize itself even to take basics steps of conventional appointments such as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief of Staff to the President and advisers in key sectors of the economy.

We ask, is the APC celebrating that fact that due to its naivety and delays, key sectors of our nation’s economy are dangerously drifting with a perilous crippling of foreign and domestic investments including activities in the money and capital market sectors?

“Our promise has been to engage in credible opposition and provide alternatives and options to the policies and programmes of the APC-led Federal Government in the general interest of the nation, but alas, in less than one month, even with the stability bequeathed by the Jonathan administration, we have only witnessed inexcusable confusion and administrative naivety in the handling of important issues as seen in their poor outing at the inauguration of the National Assembly, unnecessary delays in the setting up of structure for the executive arm and the worrisome inability to urgently provide a national economic direction, among others.

“This is a party and government that promised Nigerians that they will hit the ground running once elected into office but what we have seen so far is a government and party that hit the ground and remained on the same spot for sheer inexperience and unpreparedness for governance.

“We therefore urge the APC to stop embarrassing the nation with premature and unsubstantiated celebration of imaginary achievements especially if they ever want to be credible and responsible people, as sincerity and not propaganda remains the hallmark of trustworthy administration.

"The APC should not by any means attempt to use its flimsy list to divert attention from its numerous campaign promises for which the people are holding them accountable.

“We wish to inform the APC that the Nigerians will not take anything short of the commencement of the payment of monthly N5, 000 each to 25 million poor citizens beginning from the end of this month; ending of insurgency by the end of July as promised by President Buhari in his April 2, 2015 CNN interview; payment of monthly allowance to discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members, free meals to school children and bringing the naira to the same value with the dollar; among other bogus promises upon which they gained access to power.

“Finally, we advise the Presidential spokespersons to allow Nigerians to judge the President as events and time will prove exactly the taste of the old wine”, the PDP said.

Romance › Re: 5 Reasons Why Women Cheat On Men They Love[infidelity] by Bugatie(m): 6:53am On Jun 18, 2015
hashtagg:
In modern society, men are perceived to be
the cheaters but it doesn’t rule out the fact
that a woman can cheat on her husband or
partner.
According to relationship experts, there are
certain reasons why a woman would break her
vows or commitment to her significant other.
Robert Weiss of Huffington Post , list 5
common reasons why women cheat.
1. She feels underappreciated, neglected,
or ignored. A woman who feels more like
a housekeeper, financial provider, or
nanny than a wife or girlfriend is more
vulnerable to finding an external situation
that brings attention and appreciation for
who she is rather than the functions she
performs.

2. She craves intimacy. More so than men,
women feel valued and connected to their
relationship partner through non-sexual
emotional interaction such as touching,
kissing, cuddling, gift-giving, being
remembered, and most of all meaningful
communication. Women who aren’t
getting their intimacy needs met by a
primary partner may look elsewhere,
trying to meet those needs through
sexual/romantic relationships. Some of
these same women may also engage in
alcohol/drug abuse, compulsive spending,
binge or consistent overeating, etc., to
compensate for the emptiness they feel.

3. She is bored and/or lonely. Women who
find themselves alone at home for long
periods of time, perhaps when caring for
young children or even after children are
grown and gone, can feel that their lives
lack meaning, and they may use casual
sex or deeper romantic affairs to fill the
void. Women who have spouses or
partners who are absent for long periods
of time related to work (military service,
for example) may also turn to sex and
affairs to fill what feels like an untenable
emptiness.

4. She never feels fully loved and
appreciated. Some women have
unrealistic expectations about what a
long-term spouse or partner should offer
them emotionally and in other ways.
Those who are more narcissistic and
emotionally immature may expect a
significant other to meet their every
single need, and also to be a mind-reader
in terms of knowing what those needs
are. When their human and imperfect
partner inevitably fails them, they feel
justified in seeking attention elsewhere.

5. She has an intimacy disorder. Early
childhood trauma and/or sexual abuse
often lead women (and men) in adult life
to problems with addictive sex and/or
serial cheating. Such women repeatedly
seek emotional intensity rather than
relational intimacy. Women with
unresolved childhood trauma as well as
those with emotional instability — women
who carry an uneven and disjointed sense
of self — can seek consistency and
feelings of importance through intensity-
based romantic and/or sexual activity...

Politics › Re: Why There Is Massive Corruption In NNPC, By Saraki by Bugatie(m): 6:54am On Jun 17, 2015
sirvic01:
Senate President Bukola Saraki yesterday attributed alleged massive corrupt practices in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to lack of operational budget framework.
Saraki said such an era where there was deliberate non-provision of operational budget for the Corporation was gone for good as will not be tolerated by the 8th Senate.
The Senate President spoke while receiving members of Civil Society Groups in Abuja.
He added that transparency and accountability must be brought to bear in all government transactions.
Saraki said: “On the issue of transparency of oversight, which you raised here, we will work very hard to see the areas where there can be improvement on our part.
“The budget process which you talked about, I want to tell you that some of us have strong views that issues of budget must be transparent, particularly the days are gone where agencies like the NNPC would be able to function without operational budget.
“We must move away from that because one of the key issues that we have now is the issue of revenue leakages because of lack of transparency. I think we must move away from that, especially agencies that have revenue coming in.”
He added that the red chamber will reintroduce the Constitution Amendment Bill, which was not assented to by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Other Bills to receive priority attention, according to Saraki include the Petroleum Industry Bill and the Electoral Act.
He said the Senate under his leadership would focus on people-centered legislation, that would safeguard the interest and welfare of every Nigerian.
The Convener of the Groups, Clem Nwankwo, praised the election of the leadership of the Senate and that of the House of Representatives, adding that independence of the legislature will expedite development in governance.
He solicited the support of the National Assembly on while such bills as the ones on people living with disabilities, Electoral Acts as Amended, Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and the Constitutional Amendment. He urged the Senate to ensure their passage.
Nwankwo said: “With respect to several Bills that have been going on, we did see the National Assembly passed several bills in the 7th Assembly. One of them, of course, was the Disability Bill.
“We know that it was passed by the 7th Assembly but we have no indication that it was assented to by the President and we believe that it is important that the National Assembly takes this as one of the priority Bills for the 8thAssembly so that if it is not assented to by the President, we know that the National Assembly has powers to ensure that this Bill comes into effect.
“We also know that the National Assembly worked on the issue of the Electoral Act Amendment.
“The 2011 elections were conducted and lessons learnt from those elections, which were included in that amendment made in the Electoral Act.
“We know that the National Assembly passed that amendment but we did not have any indication that the former President assented to it.
“Very importantly, we know that the Constitution was amended by this National Assembly and the amendments that were made were the far-reaching amendments of any amendment to a life document.
“This amendment covers making justifiable some of these institutional and economic rights as contained in the present constitution.”
The level of corruption in govt parastatals is so alarming, Customs, immigration and the likes.
