Politics › Re: Achievements Of Buhari's 11 Days In Office - Cramjones by Bugatie(m): 6:46pm On Jun 10, 2015 |
cramjones: The events of the last 11 days shows that Nigeria is definitely on the path to be come great again. This are my objective assessment of this present administration since it took over power.
1. Security: As soon as Buhari took on the mantle of leadership, he immediately set out to reverse the trend of Nigeria leading from behind in the war against Boko Haram. He took a trip to our regional partners - Chad and Niger - seeking to build stronger ties that was shattered by the last administration. In those meetings he assured both presidents Nigeria's commitment to lead the fight. Appointed a Nigerian General as the head of the coalition force. Moved Boko Haram command center to Maiduguri, and invited all the top Generals in Niger, Chad and Cameroun to Nigeria to hold a regional security meeting to draw out ways to defeat the enemy. Finally, he attended the prestigious G7 meeting with a shopping list for Nigeria's security, as well as redefining our relationship with the West. Unfortunately there has been bomb blasts, but PMB is definitely on top of this situation!
2. Corruption: For the presence of PMB, many public office holders have begun to return looted money back to the treasury. The once moribund EFCC and NDLEA are doing there best to put up a show of competence. PMB and PYO submited their asset declaration forms waiting for verification before making a public declaration. Suddenly, many corruption files has already been opened by the EFCC. We are watching to see what happens in the coming months.
3. Petroleum industry: Already PMB is set to appoint himself the Minister of Petroleum. He is recalling PriceWaterHouse Coopers to perform a more detailed audit and get to the root of the missing $20 billlion. PIB has been signed into law. He is taking off subsidy in about a couple of months.
4. Democracy: PMB has shown that the days of political interference by "godfathers" are over. He has refused governors nominating Ministers. Our senators have elected a Senate President without a Buhari interference. He has kept his hands off democratic processes and allowed our democratic institutions to grow. In contrast can you remember Ekitigate? 16 is greater than 19? PMB is different. He will allow institutions to grow and will never make things revolve around one person. This man stated it clearly "I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" - Indeed, the era of "godfatherism" in politics is coming to an end because he belongs to "nobody", and the era of the people deciding what the want is definitely becoming more glaring because he belongs to "everybody."
5. Press freedom: Only during Buhari's reign did media like SaharaReporters have the freedom to ask sit-tight head of states like Mugabe pertinent questions. Only during PMB did the media feel really free to report on all sides of the coin.
6. International perception: There is no doubt Nigeria is on the rise and looked at more positively on the international front. Several Heads of States around the world believe in PMB, he was invited to the G7. He has promised to look into the Amnesty report of civilian abuse and mass killings by the military. These allegations were largely ignored by XPGEJ. Once again the international community is gradually begging to see the Nigeria in a positive light.
It is just 11 days, there is much more coming Nigeria's way. CHANGE is finally here. Stop the insults. Support PMB for a greater, progressive and just Nigeria!

BeremX CC: Lalasticlala Seun Oga how far with your appointment by Buhari, abi someone don do you coup? @topic, leave all these hype, Buhari administration has not yet kick started otherwise I will remind you of how many bombs that have gone off and scores killed in the last 10 tens you mentioned. On corruption, you can do justice to your narrative by going specific. It's also under Buhari's watch that corruption charge against the ex governor of Bayelsa Sylvan was struck out. On PIB, can you please say when the bill was passed and Buhari's input as a president. |

He is so raw on them not trying to jugde here, but pators shouldn't play God also by making open declarations on who and who is and is not going to be anything. Politics › Re: Why Patience Jonathan Failed To Attend Buhari's Inauguration by Bugatie(m): 9:05pm On May 29, 2015 |
abila122: Reactions have continued to trail the absence of Patience Jonathan from the inauguration ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari. Mrs. Jonathan who was conspicuously absent from Buhari's inauguration was said to have shown his displeasure through her body language over her husband's defeat by the current President as she never looked at the direction of President Buhari who shared the same high-table with her throughout the dinner. Mrs Jonathan was said to have broken down in tears after the dinner last night and that could have been responsible for her absence from Friday’s inauguration.
Another presidency source however debunked the rumour that the former First Lady could not attend the inauguration because she was emotionally down. The source further said, the wife of the president had an important event to attend at Otuoke and as such could not be expected to attend the inauguration when people are waiting for her arrival back home.

Politics › Re: The Joy Of Victory: A New Dawn For Rivers State by Bugatie(m): 12:22pm On May 29, 2015 |
barcanista: The Memorable May 29,2015 This day May 29, 2015 means different things to different people. For the people of Rivers state it means a day of freedom and political emancipation from the claws of the impunitive and reckless outgoing Governor Chibuike Amaechi. Since, 2013 Rivers state has been making embarrassing headlines that has brought nothing but shame to the people of the state and by extension to the people of Niger Delta. Today we hope will mark an end to all of these.
The Task Before Governor Nyesome Wike The Newly installed Governor Nyesom Wike should as a matter of urgency announce the appointment of Justice Daisy Okocha as the acting Chief Judge(CJ) of Rivers state in line with section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution that stipulates that the most senior judge of the state's high court be appointed acting CJ pending the appointment of substantive CJ of the state. This is also in line with ruling of Justice Akanbi of the Federal High Court(Porthharcourt) in February 2014, where the Judge nullified Amaechi's appointment of the now suspended Justice Peter Agumagu as the state's acting Chief Judge(who as at that time was not even a High Court judge). Rivers has been without judiciary for a very long time no thanks to the out-gone incumbent. Wike has now been saddled with the responsibility of restoring order.
All the products of the May 23, 2015 charade that Amaechi and his thug Prof Ahiazu called LGA election should be fired within hours of inauguration. Rivers state cannot accommodate rascality irrespective of the guise. The charade called LGA election was not only illegal in terms of the RSIEC act of Rivers state, it was also done against court pronouncement and without the use of INEC's voters register- which is statutory. Wike's administration should dissolve the State's Independent Electoral Commission, appoint new members that will organise local government poll. We can't accommodate rascality.
Governor Wike should realise that the people of Rivers state and our allies in the South-South/South East geopolitical zones have been under constant abuse and reckless insults for making our independent political choice of which he (Wike) is part of the beneficiaries. He owes the people of Rivers state the responsibility of governing rivers in the most dignifying manner. He should neither seek to please any outsider nor their willing tools amongst us at the detriment of the entire people that voted and defended him. Rivers is aware that some enemies within and their external political jobbers are not happy that the outgone governor and his stooge were rejected at all levels in the last general election. We are aware that some of them have vowed to make the state unbearable for him and the people of the state. He should be rest assured that the people of Rivers will not forsake him and will always defend him. However, he should be have in mind that we will not hesitate to deal with him internally if he decide to work against Rivers' interests. Also, we shall hold him accountable to rivers people and his promises during the electioneering period.
The Joy of Victory The joy in me to witness this great day of Rivers liberation cannot be quantified. I celebrate with the entire people of Rivers state both at home and in diaspora. I also appreciate the brotherly love and support that rivers state received(and still receiving) from our brothers in Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Cross river, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi and Abia states. It is my prayer that our unity does not end with the last general election. It will be unfair and immoral to forget the love and support from those outside the mentioned states. We hope that you continue to stand by us beyond the May 29 event.
It is no doubt that Rivers is blessed with intellectuals and natural resources. It is a certainty that the greatness of Rivers can never be cut short by anyone born of a woman. Not even the ambition of any politician can inhibit our progress. Rivers is marching on, the gates of retrogression and propaganda shall not prevail against us. I Believe In Rivers State...
God Bless Our State

Truth is Nigeria would have been in flames if not for the grace with which he accepted defeat. Worst case, there will be civil war!

NgeneUkwenu: Days before the March 28 Elections, no day passed by without Wike "yabbing" Cursing and abusing Amaechi Without End! The one that captured my curiosity was the day he emphatically said, Amaechi would be Chained and bundled out of Rivers on may 29th, when he must have been sworn in.
Now the election has come and gone, and his "Jesus Christ" lost, Wike has suddenly developed or acquired an unusual calmness that has kept many tongues wagging:
WIKE PLS COME AND TAME AMAECHI FOR AS BOASTED! A look at yesterday's local govt election will answer your questions, Pray tell dear, how many people did you see come out to cast their vote? Even the staunchest of APC supporters. Amaechi is a political anti climax and will remain so for a long time. The governor elect Wike has no reason to engage him in any exchange whatsoever.! |
