This is not listed as one of their requirements for processing both new and renewal of passport.

Just want to share my experience at Abeokuta office. though I went there on Wednesday, two dayz ago. I go there very late(1:10pm) cos of the terrible traffic that lasted for about 4hours from Lagos.
Well, when I got there, I met an officer and I told him I came for capturing.He asked me who was helping me and I replied God and myself. He just showed me the office in charge. My documents were checked and I bought a file for#200. After everything the officer rechecked my state of origin certificate and told me I will not be able to capture that day cos I need an attestation letter from the king cos my local government of origin is closer to boarder. He also stated some other local government government like that that will need such letter. I will advised those whose local government shares boarder with other country to take note.

I also heard the officer telling other applicants that processing fee has been introduced since about a month which is #4000 and people are paying. The officer's boss returned my file with my documents inside that I should come back as soon as I get the letter.

I have gotten the letter now.

Apart from the above, a friend of mine that captured at Ikoyi told me she went with a letter of recommendation from a Brigadier General and the capturing was easy. She said VIP was written on her file. Planning to get that too when next am going for mine at Abeokuta.

It was really a wonderful experience!

There is fast track,but you have to pay heavily for this depending on when you want your passport.

However, we have to make this process of DIY work.
On immigration twitter handle, they are encouraging people to submit application online. Though I know the officers kind of frustrate people on DIY route when it is time for capturing and production of passport. We should never give up.

If you have any grievances,please report to the appropriate unit and when an officer is professional,nice and do the right thing,please praise them on their twitter handle. This will make others to emulate them.

Ofcourse, from the biometric at abj to the mailing of my passport to my state took 4days.

Oh and I had a complicated rearrangement of name which had to be sorted out with correct details on my NIN

Like I read on this platform, white file is for fresh applicant while brown file is for renewal

Good to know I helped. As for the file, I can't really confirm but just be ready to part with a small token for it at the centre. It could either be brown or white.

Yes, a guarantor form is required. Additionally, you will need to write and sign a letter of consent(signed by both parent though only one parent need an intl passport to support their application.

It would be unfair not sharing my experience here, I learnt all I did on here.

My experience at Alimosho center on 14/02/2023. I got there quarter to 10, I met a guy at the gate who asked for my purpose and i inquired to know his business with what I came to to do..

Got into the hall met one Officer 👮‍♀️ Tunde who also asked for my purpose which I narrated to him, he then requested for 3500 to open a file as per DIY and another 5500 to push it in. I was like fun ki ni (For what) He then said I should call anybody I know that is the modus operandi. I ignored him went to meet another Officer Adeyemo and told him my purpose as per DIY, he pointed at an officer BELLO at servicecom (Seated at one corner). I told him I have an appointment to.. before I could land he requested for my documents, vetted the documents and asked me to write an application which I did, he then asked me to seat.

After about 10minutes I went to meet him he told me he’s about taking my file inside. The officer BELLO was extremely polite and professional.

I waited for about 30 minutes before I was called for capturing. After capturing I was given a paper with my name and sum numbers.

Before leaving the hall I tracked my application, passport production in progress.

I didn’t spend a dime till I left about 12noon.

Since around 11am, network has been bad and capturing has been postponed indefinitely.
I was told I'll be called when to come for capturing but I'm still waiting if there'll be any luck.
I will be leaving by 2pm.

If you're currently occupying the property I'd go for electric but if not, Barbwire. They have original "barb" at the market.

Because even with barbwire in an unoccupied property, pilfering can take place. Let alone an electric fence that can be bent to gain access.

NB: Seen these 2scenarios first hand, one is personal while the other isn't. My 2cents

Most time barb wire don’t last due to rust… go for electric fence if you have the budget…
