Please we need an advice on what to do. My friend who is divorced applied for visa for kids to join her in the UK as dependent. The visa was refused today and the reason is because the both parent must have a valid visa or one parent must have sole custody which she does have. Prior to this day, she received a mail from ukvi to send additional documents to prove custody or fathers visa, she did and responded with the divorce paper which shows the custody arrangements on the last paragraphs and she has the full custody of the children ,their father has reasonable access but shockingly she was still denied.

Please what do you advice? To reapply or do a administrative review( note, the Eco said if she thinks, there is a case error in the application, she can apply for AR)

To add to this.. you need to make care arrangement and add the details and budget to your visa application. Some schools have family oriented accommodation or you search within the school post code.

That's fine...do you mean that i should book an accommodation before submitting my application please?

I wouldn’t advise that tho, it might come back to haunt you.

He can simply give consent letter and attach his data page of international passport and birth certificate of the child

But the best is still for him to apply and travel with y’all for like a week or 2, then he can return back to his work in 9ja

Thanks

Justwise I like it when one tells the truth on the their application irrespective of the outcome (approval/refusal).

In my own experience years years ago 14-15yrs back (HSMP/Tier 1 General migrant), myself, my sister and my mom (main applicant) were all refused because my dad didn’t apply with us even though there was a consent letter from my dad stating the reasons. This was the main reason for refusal.

Mom later applied alone and travelled to the UK.

2 years later, I was over 18 at the time I couldn’t apply again as a dependant. My sister applied as a dependant but she was refused again simply because my dad didn’t apply with her. My dad wrote a consent letter oooo and mentioned how he was a high ranking civil servant with the federal government.

Weeks after getting the refusal, dad now agreed to eventually apply with my sister and they were both granted. They went to the uk together and popsie came back a week later. Both mom and sis now have red passports despite the fact that popsie wasn’t involved in future applications.

All I am trying to say is that those entry clearance officers are crazy.

All of you can apply together including your husband. Then he can later come back and decide what he wants to do later in future.

Thanks

This is fraudulent and will not help your visa application one bit.

Your husband can not leave his job just to come to the UK to support you, you can get a visa without him tagging along with you .

All you need is a good and plausible reason why he could not come along with you and the kid.

Thanks for helping. So what do I attach with our baby's application, a cover letter to explain the reason and consent letter from both of us right?

Why would you want to go that route if i may ask? Is there any particular reason?

My husband cant come with me to the UK because of his job and he wants us to go through the court for the sole custody thing, so I was wondering if it makes sense to be married and have sole custody of our baby.

If you haven’t done Biometrics try and correct it.

How will one correct an error on a submitted application? Or what do you mean by correct it before biometrics please?

you can’t use cards of conventional banks to pay for IHS or visa fee as the funds are charged in dollars which Nigeria sets monthly limit to $100.

Solution

Open a Paga wallet complete the verification to tier 3 where you can transact up to 5million per day. Transfer the money from your main account to Paga or link your bank card to it! Then you can pay successfully.

Can I use somebody's paga account to pay for my ihs and visa fee?

I just got a scholarship. It is something I have been waiting for before concluding my travelling plan.
Unfortunately deadline for CAS issuance in my school is today.

If I defer, I will forfeit the scholarship.

Please advise me on what to do

A 3 year old is capable of being taken care of by another person unlike the case of a nursing baby. You'd need to have a reason that makes separating the child from you impossible.
In the absence of that, your son can travel to join you in the UK with his father.

Hi mimilyrics
I have a situation at hand. My husband can't come with me to the uk ,he is in the military and he cant leave his job just for this reason. I have been the one taking care of our kids, 3 years old and 6 months old. Is it advisable I apply for the 2 of them as my dependent and make child care arrangements ? Or forget about travelling with them

How many kids?.... you usually need a very strong compelling reason

I have the same issue too. I have 2 kids and my husband can't come with us because he is in the military and he wont be able to stay back. Is that enough reason please?
