The team selection was spot on yesterday, I was surprised Bailly played since he had not played enough games prior to yesterday.
Young had one over me and others who think he shouldn't be starting although I still prefer Shaw.
Matic - McTonimay looked solid, we didn't miss Pogba and to be honest, Pogba might have cost us the game if he was fit cos of his lackadaisical attitude on the pitch.
Rashford seems to me like he has gotten his mojo back with his beautifully taken goals.
Lukaku did well, glad to see him improving his aerial ability, for his size, he should be doing better.
Sevilla are next, Pogba and Martial should be back, the big issue now is; do we opt for a midfield 2 or 3?

I agree with you. But we're different from each other. Some people believe we'll be better off with Moyes and Lee Cattermole. Others don't. And they won't agree with the idea of 'toning down the criticism.

We won Liverpool yesterday but we didn't really show appreciation for the win. If we'd lost that game we'd still be debating why something did or didn't happen. There are supposedly Man Utd fans who only show face to gloat or censure players whenever we lose games.

We have seen a discernible improvement in Lukaku's abilities, but I still believe he can do better, especially when playing a ways from the opponent's box.

Yeah, seems you have someone else in mind. Smelly's words about Lukaku months ago were acerbic.

But Lukaku's performance in some games in the past were indeed substandard, maybe cos he was trying to improve. He received lots of flake cos of the city game and cos people don't think he's a Man Utd kinda player.

He's developed his all round game though, and that's why the criticism has toned down.

I did mention that he won almost all of his aerial contests against Sevilla's defenders in the first leg, something he used to be poor at. It's that ability that won us the Liverpool game.

I think he should keep focusing on getting better, esp. outside the box. His goal tally will rise substantially after that upgrade.

This kind of game plan is acceptable against teams that JM considers dangerous in attack or that are superior on paper.
We played with a tight defence but when we broke it was with speed and with intent. Our transition from defence to attack was quite good on occasion, and that was very encouraging.
