majormofor:bro u obviously hit the point... i also thought high stomach acid was the culprit... but after not experiencing any relief with low acid diet, i did further online research and i discovered that low stomach acid which gave rise to bacteria overgrowth also known as SIBO was the root cause of my symptoms. so i switch to high acidic food, eliminate veg and fruits,processed food, sugar and red meat bcus dey sit long in the stomach and feeds d bacteria(and d bacteria produces gas which causes symtoms) and i started taking vitamin C (white) to aid stomach acid production, this has reduced virtually all my symptoms. 1 Like |

Ladykiss:not to discourage u or fault cutewifey claim... this rabezol is a proton pump inhibitors just like omeprazole.. so no difference and moreover from what cutewifey wrote u can deduce her symptom was "only" heartburn occasionally which is normal cause u can have heartburn without gerd d reason dose drugs were effective for her but when u av heart chronic heartburn more dan twice a week and "other" symptoms dat is gerd which is more complicated.. however u can give drug a try and hope it works for u... |

Ladykiss:.goodmorning to eat your food.. eat green vegetables ,okro, no egusi but u can try it and c if u ll react cus, sumtimes what trigger u may differ frm somone else triggers, no jollof rice except u not using tomatoes/paste white rice yes,spag are mostly made out of wheat flour which contains gluten which can worsen gerd though you can try it and after few minutes c aw ur body react,irish potatoe has a high GI index meaning it will spike up ur blood sugar level quickly and in treating gerd stay away from simple carb, sweet potato is better, u can eat ponmo, assorted meat shouldn't trigger u but c aw u react to it after intake. u can take ginger, clove and tumeric but garlic no itz a known triggers of gerd... i told u earlier on to always chew ginger every nite dont no if u av started.. and every morning always mix 2 teaspoon of original honey and half teaspoon of cinnamon in warm water.. jus follow my advice, u ll c massive changes.. |

Ladykiss:jus ignore.... na who wear shoe no were e dey pain am... he tot gerd is like malaria... even in most of d developed countries doctor find it difficult to treat gerd patients, all dey do is keep prescribing drugs dat has no impact not to talk of nigeria doctors.. let him go to quora and reddit and c pple dat has gerd for close to 30yrs and above worsened by doctors prescription. d only effective medical solutions to gerd is surgery dat one even comes with complications.. gerd is effectively treated and maintain by lifestyle and diet change. 2 Likes |

Ladykiss:its cool u can ask always... on chicken/turkey it actually dont trigger but it ll always give u dat throat lump feeling cus of inflammation around ur esophagus/throat so u av to allow ur throat heal .ginger, honey and cinnamon are sum anti inflammatory aid u can take to speed healing on tomatoes no.. anytin tomatoes is a no no.. ketchup ooo, geisha, baked bean anytin wit tomato base.. is a no go area.. no egusi, and yes u can eat all fish boiled or grilled with less spice. but less smoked/roasted fish and no fried fish and if u most eat chicken or turkey eat without d fatty skin and chew thoroughly wit smaller bit |

PH as to do with d measurements of alkalinity or acidity anytin with 7 and above is considered alkaline while anytin 5 below is acidic.. a google search can tell u if wat u about to eat is acidic or alkaline... for instance apple especially the green ones is acidic it has a ph of 3.00-4.00 and will definitely trigger ur reflux while d red ones is acidic too but it doesn't cause an increase in symptoms so u can eat it but in moderation ...ur pregnant tommy which is bloating is accumulation of excess gas. dont worry jus follow my advice u ll c your bloating reduced and yur appetite restored.. den still on what to avoid pls stay away from diary products like milk if u must take milk let it b skimmed milk(marvel or dano are likely skimmed milk u can get around), no fried food and stay away from breakfast cereals like cornflakes and golden morn dey are refined food.. instead take more of quaker oat (go for old school rolled oat against the instant oat) den apart frm d diet changes life style changes is paramount.. firstly instead of large 3 meal a day u can av 5 to 6 smaller meal.. dont rush ur food chew slowly and thoroughly avoid too hot food, dont drink water while eating. drink water few minutes after eating, and dont eat anything again not even snacks after 6pm or 7pm and sit upright for like 3 to 4 hrs bfore lying down and if u can elevate d head of ur bed... as i said earlier stay away from drugs d rebound effect is bad which u av seen wit ur pregnant tummy... jus follow diz advice i no its not easy gerd is a serious issue dat can be life threatening if ignored... u are even lucky you had symptoms wit ur gerd for u detect ontime.. i wasn't lucky i had wat is know as LPR(Laryngopharyngeal reflux) or silent gerd no topical gerd symptoms.. i only had sinusitis, post nasal drip.. wen i went for test doctor will say is malaria ,typhoid ,bacteria, i was given antibiotics i took antibiotics as of i was eatin chinchin no improvement instead d antibiotic destroy my gut microbes and after a year i started aving symptoms den i knw dat i av to help my life den d internet became my friend den i came across omeprazole and it was as if i was never sick. all my symptoms disappeared, during dis period i was still living a sedentary life eating anytin from ice cream ooo alcohol fried food ooo and dose junks... den one night after eating late and heavy i had a rebound and symptoms became 4times worst i started aving lumps feeling in throat, bloating, regurgitatation, loss of appetite etc den i did more research and my finding are my advice above... though am not completely healed but no more symp Ladykiss: Ladykiss:Goodmorning, happy new month... and am glad to help... Ladykiss:Goodday... jus to add, gerd is diet related issue. so u av to stay off food like tomatoes, refined and proccessed food, any food with sodium even biscuit, sugary foods/drinks,alcohol stay away from chicken, beef anytin meat for d time being eat fish instead.eat less salt. infact stay away from anyfood with a ph of 5 and below.. u may den asked "wetin person go com chop" d following should b ur diet for atlst a month... yam,swt potatoe, unripe plantain, rice( u can eat improvised fried rice wat i mean by diz is dont add dose sodium laced spices not even maggi add carrot,pea sweet corn and little oil use crayfish u can use curry,cinnamon, thyme notin else dont fry d rice ooo jus cook it unfried). take den with vegetable soup, den for swallow stay away from eba, wheat, semo.. eat amala or fufu once or twice a week... den before u go to bed or anytime u are having dat lump feeling chew on small slice raw ginger swallow wit water u ll b fine, eat more banana, occasional water melon,cus of its high GI. no orange, pineapple, no citrus fruit no groundnut,no bread jam,butter,peanutbutter,bama jus to add.. am certained u ll b fine.. and please stay away from dose drugs cus u ll think u getting better, no u are not dey jus masking not healing, cus any little trigger d reflux ll b 3times worse dan initial.. nyce day ahead 2 Likes |
