hugafella: Great Nigerians I must say. We all young people of Nigeria should emulate the ideals of studying hard to contribute positively to Nigeria and our generation. We must resist divisive tendencies and promote peace and unity.Haha, not on N.L bro. Many folks here can't see past their noses o. Dem never wake up this morning complete sha, that's why u can see at least 2 constructive comments before the insults commence. Don't get your hopes up. |
Not surprising in the least sense. These people are really good in their various fields and have made significant contributions in those areas. |
I think the clients are more to blame in situations such as these. Due to an unfounded notion that using professionals can be very expensive, these guys just hand out such projects to any grey-haired mason they know. The NIOB (Nigerian Institute of Builders) proposed a law during OBJ's tenure seeking a 50-year jail sentence for such offenders (clients and contractors involved in the construction of substandard/collapsed buildings). Until such stringent measures are put in place, cases such as these might continue unabated. |
TroGunn: So true. Don't know who told some of them we enjoying see those stretch marks.Well, brace up bro, soon we'll see 'top-less' gowns. As long as it's not some "pauper-ish" deeper-lifers flaunting it, it's gonna get a rousing approval. |
Wedding was Saturday, probably honey-mooning (in their own "none-of-your-business" ways). Gonna probably get kids and become grandpa/ma.......while certain trolls would still remain here on naira.land bitching about the wedding dress in a thinly-veiled transfer of aggression from life's many other frustrations. If say this couple fit appear for some people front now eh, we go just get instant volunteers for suicide bombing. Question: Why so much anger at these people who know absolutely nothing about you (probably never will) and are just victims of an obviously jobless O.P who thinks Seun pays cash for starting attacks on a people practicing what they believe and deem fit? |
Kai. Frustration can cause much wahala o. Still drinking panadol for another person's headache. Who no get leg dy nack head for wall say her neighbour wear over-sized shoe. Get a life people! Other matters of pressing concerns await. This op no try sha. Just like feeding wet bones to hungry dogs. Innocent couple wey just calm down do their wedding fa! |
The F.G really has to create more jobs fa! kai. See people swallowing panadol for another person's headache. How e take worry u reach? Of course she could have decided to dress "modestly naked" so that una go clap hand, but she didn't. Why? It's her wedding....not urs. if ur own reach, u fit naked and even lie down for d dance floor and spread ur legs make everbody come sample the "goodness of ur lord"...no wahala. Just stay out of people's private lives. U obtain a pix of someone's wedding, upload it on N.L just to score cheap comments not knowing the hurt u might be causing this newly-wed couple. nonsense! And all this 9ja barristers never think to begin make use of opportunities like this to file defamation suits and claim damages. |
Yep! I guess Terry G's free madness album just landed in this Japanese guy's area. |
It's better to walk away joor. Cheating's not that easy....well except if you've really downgraded to some really low levels. |
I doubt he's delivering a sermon. Me thinks the man's giving a speech about his achievements and other stuff. Sermon ke? From which book? |
And you forgot the totally clueless ones. Those who see a topic they know absolutely nothing about and instead of learning, begin to trade insults and hence, ruin the thread. |
Every country no get im own culture? |
Mehnn...this sounds cool sha. Ha! If this guy becomes a success then a lot about football as regards management will start changing o. On the bad side, if this works, I think that every new week Roman Abramovich will be......... |
Although I consider this an under-assessment of the real situation, I think (abeg no insult me o), I think that individual change is beginning to set in. I think the awe with which people in the past looked at affluence/wealth no matter how gotten, has begun to wane (fade). U drive one spectacular car wey no fit your persona pass some low-end street and nobody raise head look sef (just one example o). It seems more and more people are beginning to have self-pride (the good kind). I don't know about you, but this is what I've observed. |
1. Sagem (yellow back light) Lwkmd... (stolen) 2. Nokia 1100 (dashed) 3. Nokia 2100 (dashed) 4. Nokia N72 (sold) 5. Nokia E71 (Sold) 6. Curve 2 (Sold) 7. Curve 3 (sold) 8. Google G1 (In use) |
Guess he's been attacked for giving out. Would he have been praised if he had strung up more money and bought a private jet which he'll seldom have need for? After the last crisis over here in Jos, this man sent 2 trailer-loads of relief materials and some cash both to the Muslim community and another to the Christians. I wonder how most people think but if this isn't what Christianity is about then I'd rather be in the Ogboni Fraternity and have peace of mind. And for those of you who are quick to defend your private-jet-riding, no-charitable-works worth of mention, earthly prosperity-preaching charlatans called G.O's, I think it's time you left your church and joined a Brotherhood for wealth. Both your outfits preach the same thing- wealth here on earth with no regards to your here-after, plus your neighbour, colleague and friends standing in your way shall die by fire! What's the difference? Ain't got enough balls to join the occult so instead you join a fellowship headed by a motivational-speaking, brain-washing pastorpreneur? Whatever this man is (be it a true prophet or a false one), he preaches and shows love. I was his fiercest critic but alas! In the country of the blnd, the one-eyed man is king. So, get your pastorpreneurs to start doing noticeable charity works rather than build Universities that even the children of middle-class 'congregants' can't afford to attend. Period! P.s: No amount of "let my enemies die by fire" would make you prosper. On the contrary, that will only diminish your fortunes to a point of irredeemable squalor. Jesus said, "Love thy neighbour and pray for your enemies." Not "against." |
Please allow me to digress but the type of 'christianity' in vogue these days as evident by some posts from supposed christians here on nairaland gives cause to grave concerns. I got a text from a junior pastor in a church who after attending one of my lectures at a seminar believed that I belonged to the occult (whatever gave him that impression surpases my intelect); the text (albeit in really bad English) was a plea to save him from poverty and public ridicule by "showing him the way to becoming a member of my supposed "cult." My take on this issue is simple - many folks have confused African Traditional Religion with Christianity and thus created a mix of the two, resulting in this new version of 'invest and profit' christianity which we have in our dear country today. Those who give to the church are continually "blessed" (a term which refers to material wealth judging by the posts of some believers on this page) while those who don't give remain poor or stagnant. So, Mama Chi-Chi is a poor widow who barely affords 3 cups of rice a day but even at that, she shares that with Mama Esene, a fellow widow next door. (Correct me if I'm wrong but that is the Golden Rule). Chi-chi is chased home from school because her fees aren't paid up yet and her mother cries to God for help. She runs to her church members to ask why God isn't answering her prayers only to be told that because she didn't sow seeds (in the church I guess), she shouldn't expect harvests. Whatever happened to the seed she sowed in Mama Esene's life? Isn't that what Jesus taught? Love thy neighbour as thyself, isn't this the greatest commandment of all? So what we have these days is a competion by church-goers to 'sow seeds' in the pastor's life since they believe that he is the sole-conduit to God, he is the perfect investment, the best horse to back in the race for prosperity! What happened to "love thy neighbour as thyself"? Is the pastor the only neighbour in the misdst of multitudes or is he just the best investment? What then makes this form of christianity gravely deviant from the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ? What makes it different from idol worship save the blood sacrifices and dark magick? Let us examine ourselves please. For if the Christ had intended this type of christianity, would it have lived this long for us to see? |
Anyone here that uses system-bets make we hook up abeg. Think it's time to find a few partners to rub minds with and come up with something really cool. |
Hard luck guys. Juve messed up my bankroll but before I slept, I kuku use half of my remaining money take do combo on top basketball, woke up this morning to see my account's in a profit zone higher than before the Man U (over 1.5 goals) combo spoiler. Today will be a better day. Amen. |
Not really. If many of the people who continually act as bums here on nairaland really act like that in the physical world, we would have noticed a significant increase in the rate of murders in our beloved 9ja and hence a fast depleting population. Some just use the forum to blow off steam and transfer aggressions for certain frustrations they face off-line. Una know una selves. |
No wahala, make una come house ko. Incase any of una been dy owe anybody money for 9ja, na dodging things get u o. Country hard now wella and everybody red-eye for here o. |
If only that was a realistic option. C'mon! We are talking about Nigeria for Pete's sake! Maybe someday in the very distant future. Definitely not anytime soon mate. |
olusolami: You bet!!!!! I would love to walk down the street and have those haters sneer and snicker. They are just jealous they don't have the swag and charisma to match. Might get one myself, a nice gloryhole on the crevice that will make it seem he is doing two at a time, doggy style! ****tongue out for the haters****Aha!! Those who don't love tatoos are "haters." Point taken. |
Clemzy16: It depends on the circumstances surrounding her divorce.Gbam!!! Alright, let me move on to the next topic. You've already said what I wanted to say jaree. Nice one. |
Well, shave me up and call me old school, but hell no! Personally, I have reservations about folks with tatoos (my opinion o, no insult me abeg). |
All generalizations are false. Including this one. |
Okay na. It might sound all rosy at first. Don't be surprised when the next article about this matter is "man shoots son over alleged intimacy with wife." This must definitely produce some friction between all 3 parties involved. (It's in the nature of man to be territorial). |
A meal called "Gwote`" over here in Jos and enjoyed by the locals and considered a delicacy. Couldn't stand it in an zillion years. |
The easiest for me is No:5, but the hardest is No:10. My weight no just reach that one at all! |
Whoops! And I thought the 'Last Air-bender' banished the fire-lords to a land so far off. Chai! How this one take escape sef. Abi he's the 'Last Fire-Lord.' Can't wait for the next part of the movie o. Leave that baby alone!!!!! |
