Jakumo: If the state governor is claiming that simply smoking cigarettes can cook off the 7.62mm rounds used by the AK47 assault rifle, then he has clearly been fed WRONG information. Look at battlefront pictures, and note the number of soldiers smoking cigarettes while fighting and while resting, if you need any convincing that it is perfectly safe to smoke in close proximity to live ammunition.

The only way to ignite rifle or pistol ammunition of ANY caliber, short of loading it into a suitable weapon and pulling the trigger, would be to place that live ammunition in a burning container and wait for at least a couple of minutes. There is no way in hell that a lit cigarette can cause rounds to spontaneously explode as the governor suggests. If the Port Harcourt explosion was not caused by a suicide bomber, then it is conceivable that a member of the robbery gang was sitting in the car monkeying with a hand-grenade, before pulling the pin by mistake. A hand-grenade blast would riddle the car and its occupants with shrapnel, but leave no crater.
thank you. you just nailed it.

finguy: Of all the lies, na this one dumb pass.

Nway if I may link all the stories into one. A commercial bus picked up passengers randomly not knowing 4 were robbers and one a suicide bomber. He later stop to buy illegal fuel from a tanker parked in a nearby push cos its cheaper (wetin fuel at 140 dey cos) while he was getting his tank filled, one of the robbers decided to light a cigarette but his lighter wasn't working, so the suicide bomber offered to help light it for him with his bomb! Nd they all kaboom! Lol

LeoMax: NA WA O, HOW DID AMAECHI SEE THE CIGARETTE THAT IGNITED THE DYNAMITE, OKAY MAY BE THE WOUNDED OCCUPANTS GAVE THEM GIST
they are twisting the story and really dont want people to know the truth. that's my take. i may be wrong. maybe they are afraid of the consequences. i also feel this is one of the reasons why they were too careful to say what happened immediately. imagine how long it took the press to come up with this news. someone even had to derail the news by saying it was a tanker and posted what happened in march.

my take is that if the press had published that it was a bomb blast and allude it to bokoharam then we should not wait till 2015 cos' the disintegration would follow immediately........
PoliticsRe: Bus Explodes At Rumuokoro Park In Port-Harcourt by Calebsky(op): 3:07pm On May 17, 2012
Someone at the scene said it was a bomb blast. They heard a blast and noticed the bus go in flames. On getting closer he saw pieces of human flesh burnt and scattered. There was no tanker at all near the scene. That a suicide bomber must have detonated the bomb.

I have the feeling that the true story is not being reported by the press. Perhaps, because of the reprisals that will follow and the wanton killings that may result. Gov. Amaechi said it was a dynamite ignited by cigarette from armed robbers in the bus which killed them and injured several others. BBC also reported something close to what he said. But the eye witnesses are saying it was a bomb blast.

jodeci: My brother, some people can believe anything.Scene of bomb blast does not leave anyone in doubt.

PoliticsRe: ACF, CPC, CNPP, & Some Nigerians Defend Buhari's Statement by Calebsky(m): 10:41am On May 17, 2012
I weep for this country called Nigeria. In a civilized nation that statement of blood-letting will lead him straight for questioning and possible arrest. It was this same man that made an unguarded statement immediately after the elections and many of our youths and corpers were hounded and killed. Nothing was done about that. Same forms of utterances from election loosers have made the country almost ungovernable with all the security issues. In as much as the present ruling party has not done enough to make lives meaningful to Nigerians, i still wonder if there are no competent, young and dynamic persons that can rule Nigeria aside this man{BUHARI}. It is utterances of so-called BUHARI supporters that makes them feel the younger generation cannot handle and lead this country well. Please, and please, Buhari should go to rest because there are more than a thousand and one competent persons that can rule this nation very well from any region. The world has moved on!

And there were graduates from the Niger Delta who were unemployed as at the time and were given forms to fill to join the millitants and earn some pay, but many declined. One of them told me, he does not know what the future holds and will not accept ruining his career and political pursuits with the tag of a millitant. He is still searching for a job.

i have always said that this Boko haram menace is a CIA covert operation. To what purpose, i have not fully understood. Maybe to break up nigeria, and have total control over her resources. All regions of this country are blessed with commercially viable and economic high-value natural resources. This is a grand script in action.

Nonetheless, if i may ask, what is the US agenda in embarking on this operation? To what purpose? Some good contributions please.
PoliticsGunmen Kill Top Shiite Leader Alhaji Mohammed Alli In Kano by Calebsky(op): 1:02pm On May 11, 2012
Unknown gunmen have shot and killed a top leader of the Shiites group in Kano around 8 AM this morning according to reliable sources.

Family sources told Saharareporters that a group of gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram operatives approached a prominent Shiites leader and Kano state civil servant, Alhaji Mohammed Alli at his home requesting to use one of his motorbikes for Jihad, but Alhaji Alli turned down the request and was promptly shot at a close range by the rampaging sect members.

Alhaji Alli who lived in the Gadan Kaya area of Kano. He was known as one of the richest Shiites residing in Kano. His remains has since been deposited at the Murtala Mohammed hospital in Kano in preparation for burial according to Muslim rites.

The vast Shiites group in Nigeria is led by Sayyid Ibrahim Zakzaky and the group is reputedly one of Nigeria's best organized Islamic sect with millions of members spread across northern Nigeria.
Today's killing could lead to a dangerous and wider intersect war between Boko Haram and the Shiites.

Some of the reasons I believe there is more to BH than meets the eye are:

Mend have got a long history and experience in fighting govt. Mend attacks on govt where at best I'll Coordinated. Mend had a camp in the creeks where govt knew where to get them when it wanted to get them.
On the other hand BH had no expirience whatsoever in any combat, they have no camp or at least non our intelligence services know about.
Now how can such a inexperienced group (and also assumed illiterate) be carrying out commando style attacks that dwarfs mends sophistication and only comparable to alshabab and Taliban (don't forget that even these two groups had years of experience in fighting the AU and US respectively b4 they could attain critical mass as far as terrorism is concerned)

So I think it will be naive to think there is no involvement of foreign intelligence services in this BH saga. Coz that's how they operate in other regions.
The us used the cover of alqaeda and WMDs as reasons to invade iraq which were both non existent at the time. Isreal according to NY times uses some iranian terror group within Iran to try to distablize it.

So this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Though more evidence is needed in support
thank you bro.

uwani: Funny the way people reason in this country, Three men attacked an ibo man at potiskum and even shot him, the fulanis in the cattle market were able to apprehend one of them and they burnt him alive, what happened on wednesday was a reprisal attack on the fulanis for burning that man alive.
We norherners also frown at the activities of these guys but you no what, even the military presence cannot stop them from killing anyone that gets in their way, everyday between 6-7pm people get killed and these people are northern muslims (and not christians) who get in their way or even bad mouth them.
Our leaders cannot even protect us against them because they are also scared of them. But really if those fulanis could be masacred like that in a town with heavy military presence, for helping an ibo guy and all you guys can say is that they served it, i really weep for this nation.
hello dear, who are these men and what is the name of this sect? are they also bokoharamites? or a new insurgent group? what a country we live in that the persons armed with the security of the lives of her people are also scared of taming unscrupulous elements, notwithstanding their military might. what a world!

I sympathise with Nigerians & non Nigerians who lost there lives in this dastard act of barbarism.while growing up in the North, its a common sight to see Hausa kids moving around with daggers, initially i thought its about religion but we ve also lived with southern muslim kids who never moved around with daggers. At the slightest provocatn this Hausa kids either stabs or threaten you with it,so i honestly do think that there is something of violence enshrined in the Hausa Fulani culture, this kids of yesterday has grown up to unleash the monster in them.Boko Haram, has always been with the North right from the days of Maitatsine, right from the days when Gideon Akaluka an ibo man was beheaded and celebrated in the street of Kano, right from the days when a Yoruba christain female teacher was unclad by her primary sch students in Bauchi, for nt respecting the Koran and was instantly murdered!the list is endless...this mindset of always blaming GEJ even when you fight with your wife must end,we must face reality and look in wards! The questn is,why was there an upsurge of violence in the North after GEJ won the electn?what happened to the threat by some prominent Northernres to make Nigeria ungovernable,if GEJ wins?what led to the killing of corpers, christains & non northerners in the North immediatly after the elctn?why are Northern elites evasive in condenming Boko haram?why are the putting the blame on the doors of GEJ&is there a secret pact not to allow a minority southern christain from being president?i rest my case.
