Controller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. David S Parradang, has disclosed that Boko Haram has killed eight officers and men since the service joined forces with the Joint Task Force (JTF) to wage war against the Islamist insurgent group. The Immigration boss, who made the disclosure during a two-day programme to mark the 2014 Comptroller General’s Annual Conference and Stakeholders Interactive Forum in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the service in Abuja yesterday, further revealed that 1427 immigration officers and men are currently part of the JTF. According to him, “The NIS’ operatives have been mobilised on several occasions to perform ad- hoc security functions on the platform of JTF in Maiduguri since July, 2011. A total of 1427 officers men, including the 230 currently, have so far participated in the JTF while the Service lost eight of them due to incessant attacks by the Boko Haram. “A lot of buildings, vehicles, radio communication gadgets have also been destroyed in the process. The NIS had since requested the esteemed office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) for possible intervention.” Enumerating the challenges facing the service, Paradang lamented that immigration is facing insufficient manpower and appealed to the Federal Government to approve the recruitment of 5000 Nigerians annually for the next five years to beef up the current capacity of 22,321off 5 Likes 2 Shares |

I dont feel like discouraging anybody`s feelings. Lets think, if the list is not out this week, training can never begin first wk of dec, and if its not out by the later, it cant be 2nd wk. Although, my controversial source who is working with m. #interior says b4 the end of the year NI will shortlist new intake. 1 Like |

Religion / Christmas Celebration: Truth Or Myth? by Calyb(m): 10:27pm On Nov 17, 2014 |
CHRISTMAS originated from the word "Christ-Mass" which is a Roman Catholic tradition, a special mass performed in celebration of Christ's birth. Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Christian Church. It was not celebrated, commemorated, or observed, neither by the apostles nor in the apostolic church -- not for at least the first 300 years of church history, after Catholicism took over the first church of Rome which was originally established by Apostle Paul. It was in the year 350 A.D. that Pope Julius-I declared that Christ’s birth should be celebrated on “December 25”. History reveals that the Church at Jerusalem commenced the celebration of Christmas only during 440 A.D., following the leadings of Roman Catholicism. ANCIENT HISTORY Ancient history reveals that in past ancient pagan civilizations, it is no coincidence that December 25th was also the birthday of their pagan gods. All of BABYLONIAN and ROMAN FESTIVALS were characterized by 5-7 day celebration periods of unrestrained or orgiastic revelry and licentiousness held between the 17th and the 23rd of December. December is the time of year when days began to lengthen and ancient man was blessed with a "regeneration of nature" and held an annual celebration for it. Specifically, December 25th was the Victory Festival of the “SUN-God" in the pagan Babylonian world. In the ancient Roman Empire, the same celebration can be traced back to the Roman Festival called “Saturnalia”, which honored Saturn, the harvest god, and Mithras, the god of light. They held the circus during this time of the year. Both festivals were celebrated during or shortly after the winter solstice, between the 17th and 23rd of December. 1. CHRIST POINTED US TO HIS DEATH, NOT TO HIS BIRTH Christmas is not mentioned in the entire book of the Bible. Never one time did Jesus refer them to His birth, but to His death. 2. JESUS CHRIST WAS NOT BORN IN DECEMBER; HE WAS BORN IN APRIL It couldn't have been Christ's birthday. It just absolutely could not have been. He'd have had to been born in March or April, 'cause He was the Lamb. And He was a male sheep and borned in under the ram, Aries. It had to be. You see? And--and sheep are not born in December anyhow. Sheep are born in the spring. And then another thing, the hills of Judaea now, there's twenty feet of snow on them. How could the shepherds have been out there? Christmas is not a Protestant holiday. It's a Catholic day. The 25th of December was months and months before our Lord was born. Our Lord was born in April. But He wasn't born in December. If you've been in Judaea in December it's colder than this, so--so you know He wasn't born in December. And it's spelled, it's C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s, a mass for Christ. It's the Christ-mass. And by the way, Christ wasn't born on the twenty-fifth day of December either. He couldn't have been. If you'd ever been in Judaea, the hills are full of snow, worse than it is here: He (was) born in April when all nature comes forth. Now, but it's a tradition. And why--why do we do those things? Because we follow the traditions of men instead of the commandments of God. Then something like that wouldn't matter, but they just make a commercial day out of it. It's a disgrace, a shame for them to do such things as that more facts is coming your way |

In view with my last post concerning the suit against the NIS, immediate compensation will be given to the stampede victims, and also #1000 will be ask to be paid back to the applicants and thereafter the FG will be boast enough to release the list. guy if your name no show for the list, still trust God and dont give up, try again later. list cannot just be released without legal backing since everyone knew the bla bla bla that happened during the whole process. speculation though |

The suit filed by some Nigerians against the federal government over the death of job seekers during the March 15 Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, recruitment exercise will commence on Monday. The case is to be tried by Justice Abdul Kafarati of the Federal High Court, Abuja, under Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/694/2014. The suit was filed by Patience Omezie, Kasim Suleiman, Okojie Arebamen, and Godwin Morka while the defendants include the federal government and the Interior Minister. The plaintiffs’ counsel include Funke Adekoya, J.S. Okutepa, Ayo Obe, Ikeazor Akaraiwe, and Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri. At least 16 Nigerians died across Nigeria when hundreds of thousands of applicants stormed various recruitment centres to fill the 4000 vacant positions in the NIS. A day after the tragedy, the Minister for Interior, Abba Moro, claimed that the applicant’s impatience and failure to follow instructions were the cause of the tragedy. Mr. Moro later appeared before a Senate Committee on Interior during a public hearing where he accepted responsibility for the deaths. He has, however, remained in office despite calls by some Nigerians that he resigns or be removed. President Goodluck Jonathan has since offered automatic employment to families of the victims and ordered the return of the N1000 registration fee collected from each applicant. The president also promised that a fresh recruitment exercise would be carried out. 2 Likes |
