Tellmeastory:Lagos commissions railway stations and such bigger projects because Lagos has the biggest budget in the entire federation. Do not forget that the resources of Lagos are contributed by Nigerians, irrespective of tribe and religion Again, I advice you to compare Lagos with such cities as Johannesburg, Cairo, Dubai, Rabat, as Lagos became the federal capital over 100 years ago. Anambra, Ekiti, Osun, Jigawa, etc became states just over 34 years ago, with far lesser resources. |
Peppysco:So a local government chairman should commission a project initiated and completed by the state governor, with resources from the state purse? By the way, if asked, can you tell people the name of either your councillor or local government chairman, since you want to be their emergency advocate? |
Richtaiwo:At this stage of your life, concentrate on decorum on social media spaces. That's the only way your audience may agree with your comments. Indecent comments such as yours must not be tolerated or allowed to pass, without equal response. At least you understood the message that he passed to you, which for me was very proportional. Writing good English does not translate to having good sense. If you reasoned properly, you'd find your first comment absolutely irresponsible. He gave you exactly what you needed. |
KnowledgePower7:After reading this, the best name to call you na complete muntula. |
See how she resemble red neck lizard. |
Can we rule out conflicts? |

That's how the groom made his way to prison in some countries. |
If Belle worry una after the longthroat and hunger, make una no complain say no medicine or doctor for una communities! |
Kobojunkie:An offence considered very serious enough to attract death penalty for example is non bailable. Examples are murder and armed robbery. |
PDJT:"Sinator" keh? What happened to "Senator" please? |
Very dark man simply wanted to show off. The driver already made his complain and on the evidence of the video, said "honourable" was arrested. It is a bailable offence. However the driver must not be discouraged from following the matter to the logical conclusion. Such irresponsible people should not be found as leaders in this country. |
7arrows:So you did not reason that the passengers probably were all sleeping with the vehicle caught fire? |
Ikaeniyan0:Sadistic statement. |
Thank you very much to all. |
Kobicove:Equitable distribution among who and who please? |
aieromon:Another great political career in ruins because of corruption and greed. Now when he talks, he would be reminded that he is an ex convict. What a shame. |
StealthGuy:Where is the river in that picture? |
santaclaws:Olodo, with absolute no knowledge of what you are delving into, please stop disgracing yourself. I have far more knowledge of what you think you know. With such arrogance and baba so or mentality, how can you ever learn? Lagos is not tagged Nigeria's economic nerve centre for nothing, as the state largely tops with the highest VAT allocation alone, at close to 10% of the total collection of the 36 states. Looking at the monthly income from earnings derived from oil exports, taxes (Value Added Tax - VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Exchange Difference revenue and other statutory allocations, IGR and 13% derivation revenue, which go to deserving states, including Lagos State, how can you compare other states with Lagos? Maybe you did not read or hear that Rotimi Amaechi commenced the $400m Portharcourt monorail project in 2012, that your Wike stopped. Even at that can you compare the resources of Lagos State and Rivers State? With Lagos earning far more than much smaller states like Kebbi, Ekiti, Osun, tell us where you want them to get the resources to embark on such huge projects as metro lines, when they are struggling to keep afloat and with thanks to blind supporters like you, embezzling as much as they can. |
Surely after seeking proper legal advise. Fighting corruption with the Nigerian politicians is such a hard matter. We had a Buhari, who was thought to have the political will, but he ended up with the worst cases of looting of the common patrinomy. It is sad that the governors are pursuing such a case. When will corrupt persons allow this country to move forward? Hopefully the Supreme court will dismiss this matter and EFCC further tackle these evil persons in positions of power and holding the progress of this country back. |
Kepukepu:If we are not ripe yet to close drainages, how can people's lives be secured if inadvertently they fall into the drainages? |
santaclaws:Keep up with the disgraceful comments. Now your initial comment has become "figurative". You finally narrowed it to the same Lagos that you meant to talk about. You need to school your own self properly. Blue and Red line projects are Tinubu's words, originated by him in 2005-06 when he choose LKJ's original idea of the light rail project. You shamelessly dare to compare Lagos with states that were created in the late 70s and 90s. You talk about states that you know absolutely nothing about, even Ogun and Lagos states. Maybe you need to get it into your thick head once again that Lagos had evolved over the centuries and became the federal capital. With the advantage of the seaports and airports, it became the commercial capital with the banks and stock exchange. Which of the other ststes, including your Ogun state had such advantage? Please tell us which state capital earns more revenue than Lagos State? Tell us which state has the budget bigger than Lagos State? Rather than compare Lagos with Johannesburg, Rabat, Tunis, Cairo, etc in terms of development, you are there comparing Lagos with far less developed states. Does your Abia state and Lagos have the same budget? Why no compare Lagos with Ogun state in terms of development? Why no compare Jigawa or Zamfara? "Lagos was able to achieve that with oil money". That oil money came from where? Your one window face me I face you in Ijebu Igbo? |
santaclaws:So when you talked about the red lines, where did you get that from, Mr. Tribalist? Or you just wrote and posted without thinking that others would read and respond accordingly? You are not ashamed. With your world's largest landmass, you live in hardship, poverty and serious infrastructural deficit. If Otti's purchase of vehicles has taken sleep away from your eyes, why should you sleep when governors in your own region milk you dry and keep in your perpetual servitude? Take the dirt of your eyes before referring to others. |
Dogalmighty17:Do you remember that Adamu was the chairman of APC inspite of an EFCC matter? |
santaclaws:Sit down and shut your very dirty mouth. Lagos is the commercial capital of Nigeria. Lagos previously was the federal capital. Lagos has the Lagos budget. In all these, areas like Okokomaiko, Amukoko, Ajegunle, Makoko, etc are eyesores. Rather than address national leadership failure, reckless pilferage of public funds and uncontrollable corruption, you are busy comparing states and their unbalanced developments. If not that your likes fail to reason appropriately, you should know Ogun state should be better developed than its present state, if not for looting of the treasury. Oyo state to you is bigger than the entire SE, yet many parts of the state are disgraceful to reside. Why not make proper use of the size to showcase infrastructures comparable to other developed cities worldwide. |
Botragelad:This truly is heartbreaking. Hopefully Hamas can agree to peace terms, discarding the control of Iran and Hezbollah. |
Sharpsharp00123:With all the years of Lagos, first as a federal capital, then as the commerical capital and a budget that runs in trillions, it is not paradise. Johannesburg, Cairo, Tunis, Abidjan, Ouagadougou, Rabat are far more beautiful and peaceful, in spite of budgets lower than that of Lagos. Kigali, Seychelles are far more beautiful and here you are referring to a state that was created about 40 years ago? Why are Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo, Kano, Zamfara, Jigawa, etc not your paradise? Or you only know paradise by name and do no want to physically experience it? |
So he wrote the results of the last Presidential and Governorship election in the government house after all! Now we can see that APC did not get the votes allocated to them finally. What a shame that we still have the likes of Wike in the political landscape of Nigeria, openly controlling two political parties in one state and intending to forcefully hold on to power by all means possible. I hope that the people of Rivers State will get themselves prepared to vote such people out and reclaim their states from politicians who make it a war zone for them. |
blacknp:And who was Wike until he was picked up from the same box by the persons of Ada George and Victor Odili? |
"Israel Defense Forces said in an X post on Oct. 17 that they were investigating whether Sinwar was one of the three terrorists killed during a patrol in Gaza. The Associated Press reported that Israel was using Sinwar’s DNA, which is on file from his time in prison, to determine whether he was one of the terrorists killed. IDF stressed there were no hostages in the area. Hours later, the IDF posted that they had “eliminated” Sinwar. Sinwar’s death is the most significant assassination of a Hamas official since Mohammed Deif, the group’s military leader, and Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s political leader, were both killed in July" |
festacman:He joined politics, contested and won the local government election as Obior/Akpor local government chairman between up till 2007. Peter Odili was the man who made those possible. His disagreement with Amaechi pushed him to the Federal stage as a minister under GEJ. His connection to GEJ brought himthe governorship. I believe that palm could have been greased. Mrs. Jonathan took a special interest in him and the rest became history, with the special assistance. No man is an island. In the course of his journey, other prominent sons and daughters of the state helped propel him forward, before he became the governor. |
What is the current story about Port Harcourt and Warri refineries? How can NNPC continue to hail and service a competitor like this? |
