Good.

It used to be so simple traveling from Abuja to Minna and back for us until this menace made the road very impassable in 2017.

Hopefully the security agents can first purge the saboteurs among them first and then complete eliminate these evil people on the roads and in the northern communities.

Don't know why Abure cannot honorably step down.
Even at the attempt towards his life.
You can't lead people by force if the people do not want you.
LP suddenly becomes the political bride due to O is influence, yet they can't put their house in order.
How do they now want to rule the nation ?

That’s what to expect with Nigerian brand of politics. The party got working when Miniko was there. Some people got greedy, seeing that the party had won one state. When Mimiko left, the party almost completely collapsed and all the warring sides became silent.
It is a common factor in Nigerian politics. It cost APC in Rivers and Zamfara states in 2019. Greed.

Obi has done far better than Miniko in a very short time, giving some breathe to Abure. However, we find APC using the likes of Arabambi and Abayomi to destabilize the party. We also find the greed of certain elements within the NLC, who feel that the party has come of age. The election results were quite surprising to Nigerians across political parties. People have decamped from other parties to struggle for positions within LP and therefore creating problems within the party.

As is common in Nigeria, no one in power wants to relinquish the position. That’s what’s happening with Abure. Rather than drop the position and still remain as a BOT member, he has chosen to die there.

If Obi leaves the party, a huge chunk of people will go with him. Hopefully he should remain with the party and contest in 2027. NLC and LP must find common grounds to resolve this lingering issue, as it gives grounds for winners during the last elections to decamp to other parties. LP too must show example of leadership by sorting out their problems quickly. That’s the same problem that cost PDP hugely with the greed of Atiku before the last elections.

APC took over from PDP in 2015 with too many promises. Most of them failed woefully.

APC has ruled since 2015, with the economy in absolute shambles under their watch.

Oga, how did the naira go from 199 to 1900 per dollar under the watch of your principal in 8 years?

How did the bag of rice go from 8,000 to 80,000 in 8 years under the watch of your principal?

How did plane tickets on the London route go from 200k to over 2m in 8 years under the watch of your principal?

How do you eulogize people who put you in misery, give you peanuts to shut your mouths and fight for them?

Get small shame na bros.

CBN has done a lot of things right in recent times that even when we do not understand their actions, we somehow know that they are trying to achieve an aim.

Who else has noticed that Lamba king is now careful not to criticize the CBN in particular. When USD was increasing arbitrarily, he was always quick to release trader-level economic advice to make his followers think he knew what he is doing.

He was hoping that USD goes north of 2500 naira. I hope he learns that there is more to life than just saving cost.

Thank God most of his suggestions were at variance with those of the CBN otherwise his mob would have claimed that CBN took his advice to make the little progress they have been making.

Have some form of shame please. Do not continue to be that confused and blind follower, who thinks others are like him.

Did APC not meet the Nigerian naira @199 in 2015? Where does the same naira stand today?

Were you five years old when APC took over power, in 2015? Were you a child when APC made several promises and failed them all? Was BAT not actively part of the reduction of Nigerians into severe poverty since 2015? So if BAT is trying to make amendments to what he actively participated in, what is there to celebrate?

Leave other people out of your wrong ideas and ask your principal to let Nigerians have better lives.

Hopefully local government elections can be handled by INEC rather than the respective states.

With the ruling parties in charge of the state’s respective electoral boards, there is no way they can be defeated. Other parties generally let them manage their elections, where they end up planting their men who should hold forte for the governors and their parties.

Ahh.

Very shameful act. Deliberately causing the death of a fellow youth with their evil intention of extorting am the miserable 300 dollars from the victim.

Hopefully the punishment is very severe and those who perpetrate such wicked acts must pay the price, if possible with their own lives. No wonder some people reject Sharia. With Sharia in place, those boys surely would lose their limbs, as punishment for the offence.

Taking to 419 as a means of livelihood is not as a result of lack of job opportunities. It is simply the choice of those involved in it, who want to become Dangote overnight. If you get creative, if you acquire skills, then you are empowered to make sustainable wealth over time. You are able to live in peace, with no fear of SARS, etc.

Far from it. Not every Profs child in my set cheated and I know of only that 1 chap who used to see exam questions before the exam date. The funny thing is that this classmate of mine would still have passed the exams without seeing the questions before hand because he was extremely hardwoking but I doubt if he and his crew would have consistently scored 100% in those MCQ exams without the unfair advantage his Dad by commission or omission allowed him to have.

Having said that, another 20% of my class cheated to pass if they were on the verge of being kicked out of Med School for failing a class more than once and there was another classmate whose Dad was also a Prof of Medicine who got asked to leave Med School for failing the same class twice. So, it wasn't all of my classmates whose Dads were Profs who cheated in exams.

Things have degenerated in Nigerian Medical schools to the extent that the following stories will show :-

1. There is currently a Senior Doctor who used to work at UCH and was in charge of mentoring or supervising young Medical Students. This Doctor allegedly lured one of the students to a hotel in Ibadan in the guise of helping her prepare for an impending exam. He then allegedly proceeded to forcefully defile her by her own public account and she even publicly named the offending Doctor on the internet for the whole world to see.

UCH constituted a panel, called the girl to give her account and the female panel members (themselves senior doctors at UCH) proceeded to gaslight the girl by asking her to state her body count and asked her why she did not wear underwear to a meeting with a man.

Suffice it to say that the panel members sided with their colleague and UCH gave the accused Doctor a soft landing by allowing him to resign and they must have given him a good reference because he immediately left Nigeria for the UK and is now practicing Medicine in the UK. I pity his new patients and medical students he comes into contact with if all that young medical student said about him are true. The BRAVE young lady stuck to her studies and will be qualifying as a Medical Doctor from UCH in a matter of months.

2. I met a not yet successful politician at a friends restaurant in Lagos more than 15 years ago. We got talking and the guy said he has bedded 2 female final year medical students in the same room before and the females saw no big deal in it. I'm guessing that they must have slept their way through their Med School lecturers to get as far as final year of Med School.

3. The one that is scariest is when more than 10 years ago, newspapers carried the story of a female medical Doctor who was arrested at an ungodly hour skimpily dressed and soliciting for "customers" in one of the red light districts in Abuja. It was some of her colleagues who went to plead with the task force and bail her 'cos she was supposed to be on call in the hospital the next morning. Imagine a medical doctor still doing prostitution on the streets of Abuja at night ?? Things dey happen for Nigeria.

That's the anomaly we have in Nigeria where from top to bottom the best of us have been relegated to the background whilst the more criminally minded who see themselves as being above ANY rule or law get parachuted to the top by the criminals in power.

But is such a situation sustainable ? How long before it implodes ??

Thank you very much. This is very enlightening. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Travel / Re: Foreign Carriers Engage In Price War To Frustrate Air Peace Out Of London by Cantonese: 6:50pm On Apr 07
helinues:
It's an open market

No one is frustrating anyone .

Air peace should have made proper consultation with other airlines before splashing the average airline ticket to UK.

Win win for the travellers as the airlines would drag themselves to the extent of free falling the price .

Modified: As usual, tribal coloration must be added to my comments. Air peace is our own, we all want it's success but they can't be doing things in a wrong way without calling them out.

First Air peace trip from Nigeria to UK, they had issue in both Nigeria and UK, can everybody be wrong? Perhaps, Air peace should have a proper consultant teams that would help them to put things in order before taking any steps..

But you added tribal coloration in the first place, as you always do.

You tried to tone down your unfair comment. Without proper consultation, can you venture into airline business? Do you want to advise an established organization on how to carry out their already successful business? Or maybe you are one of those officials of the NCAA Allen Onyema complained about in Nigeria.

If you say buy or patronize Nigeria, how can you make such a reckless and unfair comment. Maybe you have never purchased a plane ticket before, or you simply choose to be insensitive as usual with all your APC backed comments.

Plane tickets are unfairly raised against Nigerians. You may purchase the ticket for the seat beside me in Lagos, while I purchase mine in London or elsewhere outside Nigeria. One thing is sure that my ticket WILL be far cheaper than yours. That’s absolute cheating. Nigerians rather purchase their tickets in other West African countries as they know it will be cheaper.

If you say patronize Nigeria, then you must support and promote the Nigerian brand.

Definitely a very big war.

The European airlines have always been like this. Mostly they are backed by the governments especially when their airlines are government owned.

Have you ever heard of Sir Freddie Laker and his Laker airlines? That airlines in the 70s and early 80s was the clearest example of how European competitors can use government regulation and price wars to drive some operators away from the system. Government licensed his aircrafts to land at Sanstead airport instead on Gatwick which was bigger. I remember that his London - New York route was a hotcake because of his rates.

Laker Airways pioneered many new, cost-saving as well as profit-enhancing, commercial concepts and operational techniques.

After unsuccessfully trying to block Laker through government regulation, the then so called giant lines, British Airways, Pan Am and TWA, quickly matched Laker's rates for their then economy-class seats. Pan Am also introduced a new low-fare alternative called budget.

Sir Freddie Laker lost to unfair competition and Midlands bank took over owing to huge debts. I remember clearly a friend of his offering the man a job and the bank allowing him to retain his house and Rolls Royce car.

Hopefully since Heathrow is privately owned, there should be a level playing field for all operators.

However there are presently low budget airlines in operation and making success if it. Examples are Ryanair and JetBlue.
