He probably thought that not wasting the time of the court by pleading guilty instantly, would get him favourable judgement.

Smirks of punishment for his sexual choice. Again he was used as the scapegoat. People now must be careful at events and parties, using social media.

Travel / Re: NANS Roots For Air Peace by Cantonese: 10:02am

Citizens have their roles to play in promoting local airlines, by patronizing them. Government has its role to play in protecting local airlines against unfair practices of foreign airlines. The airline itself has to make flying very attractive for all passengers.

The likes of Egypt air and Ethiopian air have been fleecing Nigerians. The difference between the current price and the former price is disgraceful to them, in the least. Thankfully it’s not summer yet, when Nigerians used to be at their mercy.

To think that Hadi Sirika played a trick against Nigerians using Ethiopian air is nauseating. Nigerians on the own frustrate their own.

Food / Re: Has The Inflation Affected Your Eating Pattern? by Cantonese: 9:46am
Some people no go wan talk but I must expose them.

*They have started eating punmo instead of beef
*They have started eating half side of fish instead of full fish
*Some say they don't like head of fish, check them now, they have started eating it.
*Those ones that can drink gallons of beverages, they have reduced it to coffee cup
*Indomie lovers have switched to spaghetti
*"Baby put on gen let's sex" don turn to "we will go outside to take fresh air when we finish"

The list too plenty

All quoted above are APC supporters. The only set of Nigerians who suffer and smile. Hardship is in their DNA.

Labour party has come to stay.

Again, all the parties in Edo state have their issues. APC have not sorted out their post primaries problems and yet Oshiomole mocks others.
Politics / Re: Aksg Spends N112bn On Road Projects: Yet Nothing Is Going On At Sites by Cantonese: 5:51am

...Eleven(11) other completed roads included in the 2024 budget...

...2024 budget padding brouhaha looming...

That Akwa Ibom State Government has spent over N112 billion on road infrastructure since May 2023 is rather mind-buggling, worrisome, grave fallacy and one of the 21st century tales by moonlight...

A government that isn't up to a year old since swearing in on May 29,2023 is claiming to have sunk in such a whooping sum of state funds into a non-existence/audio road projects unimaginable is painting a clearer picture of the Umo Eno led administration not doing anything different from the previous administration which had groomed, cultivated and implemented the culture of spendthridting the state Treasury in absolute secrecy which has given rise to the fathom looting spree, fingering and rakeless wasting of the people's commonwealth/patrimony in the hands of a few greedy, marabouting, selfish, self pocket filled and self-centered cabal who are only interested in enriching their immediate family, relations, selected friends, cronies, business associates and government hallelujah praises singers to the detriment of the common masses (Akwaibomites)

In a recent disclosure by the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof Eno Ibanga when he presented a breakdown at the State Executive Council meeting in Uyo.

Eno Ibanga claimed 39 new road projects have been undertaken with N78.77 billion released to fund them, while old projects have been funded to the tone of over N30 Billion, with an additional N12 Billion recently released by the Governor.

If we have to go by the figures released by the Commissioner for Works that a whooping N112 billion has been disbursed by the Governor for road infrastructure since May 2023, with 39 new road projects receiving N78.77 billion & N30 Billion for old projects, with additional release of N12 Billion, how come is the state not witnessing much of the infrastructural projects spanning the state so far❓

The Umo Eno led administration has so far performed abysmally low if we have to go by the current indices of hunger, massive unemployment, hyperinflation rate in the cost of living and slow pace of economic activities in the state since assumption of office...

If the governor and his Co- deceptive travellers are busy mouthing about release of funds for projects, Akwaibomites will definitely want to see how much work is going on at those sites as claimed...

This administration is yet to hit the ground since assumption of office, all we see is random organization of crusades alongside dabbling political fathers of faith and uncountable flag off of projects without especially road projects as claimed without nothing going on at most of the project sites...

If government claims releasing such whooping sum of monies for roads construction alone within the spate of 9-10 months since May 29, we should at least see massive construction sites sprawling the nooks and crannies of the state not when nothing is going on and they're telling us folk tales and chorusing folklores of empty achievements yet billions of state allocation/funds, security votes, internally generated revenue and other royalties are accruing into the state treasury...

One the banes and sad scenarios hovering like a thick cloud over this administration is the fact that Eno is still allowing himself get surrounded by those who alongside the excruciating reign of eight (cool unyielding jamboree years of his political godfather and predecessor Udom Emmanuel remains in the corridors of power those who aided in looting/milking this state dry are those taking strategic policy decisions since his assumption and this will definitely not change the development, growth and advancement narrative positively with all this naysayers, confusionist, detractors, cheap monks, sychophantic hallelujah praises singers and selfish bigots hanging on...

Are we not aware that Uyo - Ikot Ekpene road and eleven (11) other completed projects are currently in the approved 2024 budget of the state government❓

There are enough to show the public aside from the White Elephant projects of past administration of Udom Emmanuel which Eno has likewise injected billions of state funds to continue to draw crippling funds into those good for nothing ventures. A typical example is the five hundred million naira (500,000,000.00) allocation for the construction of additional structures at the worship centre which hasn't been put to adequate use since the exit of his predecessor...

The State Bulk Purchase Agency recently inaugurated by Gov. Eno to ensure equitable involvement of the vulnerable persons has defaulted with so much of state funds sunk into the hurriedly passed bill by the rubber stamped state assembly...

The agency is operated on party lines and the beneficiaries are merely people from one party, yes of course the People's Democratic Party (PDP)The outcry by supposed beneficiaries currently has reached a crescendo and the head of the agency being the governor's kinsman is also a rooted PDP apologist...

In all I believe those managing the information organs of government should guide most of this appointees to do more on figures research which do not balance with work done to avoid washing their dirty linen in the market square, there's nothing showing so far if government claims it has so far in less than ten(10) months in office spent such in road construction alone aside flagging off rasmatazz...

It's all a grand conspiracy to loot, spendthrift and milk the state treasury within a few cabal...

Umo Eno should face governance to a radical conclusion and avoid those luring him into this whitewash of piling up funds for his re-election...

What will be will be... 2027 is coming, deliver on election promises if any...

Pat Reuben writes in from Awantong/ Ikot Eba-Etinan Nigeria!

The writer must be a chronic liar if he continues to claim that Emmanuel Udom did nothing in Akwa Ibom state. Certainly he must just be waking up after excessive drinking of burukutu and eating of 404.
Politics / Re: Sowore Knocks Peter Obi For Inaugurating ‘pepper-grinding Machine’ To Pump Water by Cantonese: 5:44am
Let’s agree with Sowore that Obi inaugurated pepper grinding machine.

One can ask Sowore if with all his years of activism and wealth from living in America, if he has provided any social service to people of his community.

Sowore must tell us if there is electricity to power electric pumping machines in the communities provided the boreholes.

Sowore should tell us if solar powered boreholes can be longer lasting than the pepper grinding machines. In case of faults, who will fix the solar powered ones, and at what cost?

Sowore must tell us why having campaigned during the last elections in the north, he could not remember to provide such amenities for the suffering people, who have been without portable water for uncountable years.

Why has Sowore not asked the leaders of such communities what they have been doing all these years with the allocations received?

No common sense with Sowore.

Are the beneficiaries not enjoying their water so far? Have they complained?

Jealousy and envy will not let some like Sowore have some peace of mind. It is very clear that Obi knows the needs of the citizens and he tackles them. They are worried that everyday Obi’s popularity rating rises. They said “no structure”. Obi matched Tinubu and BAT vote for vote at the last election, to their greatest surprise.

For those youths who support those who daily reap them off and put them in misery, you may continue in your hardship.

Politics / Re: Works Minister Confirms Tinubu’s Lebanese Ally, Chagoury Got Lagos-calabar Road by Cantonese: 5:31am
Have they completely abandoned the Lagos - Shagamu - Ore - Benin route?

When he says eight years to complete, but sure of twenty years and incomplete. As of now the Lagos - Seme highway remains incomplete. A project initiated by the same President and passed through three other governors since 2008.

How they did not open the job to competitive bidding will continue to leave a question mark, especially as we now know that the so called fight against corruption is a long lost battle.

What is his business with how people run their homes? They loot public resources and yet implement policies that practically force life out of people, to provide funds for them to loot.

No. A party that cannot sort out its internal affairs is the best of APC and PDP?

A party whose national chairman is accused of fraud and financial impropriety is better than APC and PDP?

A party whose national chairman disregards the presidential candidate is better than APC and PDP?

A party hijacked by the national chairman is better than APC and PDP?

A party that could not mobilize party agents for elections is better than APC and PDP?

A party with someone like Kenneth Okonkwo is better than APC or PDP? Kenneth Okonkwo vacillated from capitalists (PDP) to progressives (APC) to socialists (LP). That guy is ideologically unstable, and a danger to himself.

The worst of Labour Party is not a pandemic to be wished upon Nigeria.

“ A party whose national chairman is accused of fraud and financial impropriety is better than APC and PDP…?

Travel / Re: Air Peace Flight To London Sparks Price War Among Foreign Airlines by Cantonese: 10:34am On Apr 11
Airlines business is not a profitable business . No serious businessman is into aviation business. As said by someone " no top 100 billionaire in the world is into aviation business" it's all fancy and glamour with no profitability or liquidity.

Since it is a very low margin business... volumes and routes are key . That's why having a national carrier is most.

We also need competition in local flights. It is currently too pricey and these guys are cheating customers. How can a flight of less than one hour to the east be #500k during festive season. That is devilish.

Not profitable and Richard Branson, one of the richest on earth, continues with Virgin Atlantic? Not profitable and yet airlines were making three things from Nigeria for services to other countries, until Air peace entered the route? Not profitable and the airlines charge such huge amounts to SE airports, reaping citizens using that route? Not profitable, yet airlines like Lufthansa, Air France, Royal Maroc and BA have been in business for uncountable years?

Airlines fail when there is poor management. Airlines fail when they are not able to meet debt repayments, e. g. Laker air in 1981, which failed for their inability to meet the debt obligations. Airlines fail when there is unfair competition from other airlines, as experienced with Bellview and Medview on the same London route. Airlines fail when there is massive corruption and large scale embezzlement, like Nigerian airways. Airlines also fail due to unfair government policies.

As stated earlier, our government can make it easier for citizens by making Air peace pay lesser for aviation fuel. Again, make repatriation of funds difficult for foreign airlines, thereby causing them to lose interest.

Government also must intervene on the local routes, where airlines tell us that passenger pressure is the major cause of high fares to the SE. Airlines, including Air peace are complicit in it.

She was in charge of everything as the producer. The producer is the contractor. The owner of the job. She was in charge and should have supervised accordingly. There definitely was carelessness somewhere or nonchalance to put it that way. River Niger is not such that you travel on carelessly.

There is no portable water at Agulu , Anambra state the home town of Bitter Obisco .... To date, they drink river water...

Charity is supposed to begin at home...

And you claim one Nigeria?

So drinking from the river is no evidence that there is water in the community? Some of you BAT supporters display your lack of common sense in different ways. If there were rivers in the communities of the north where Obi erected boreholes, would there be need for that?

By the way, having not left your single room, single window apartment, how have you not asked to be told that there are uncountable boreholes and portable water sources in Obi’s community? By the way, what is the name of your principal’s community?

A great and sensible man not like the worthless agulu fraud building substandard borehole that he can build for his people in north

Worthless keh? Someone born into a wealthy family? Got well educated. Became the chairman of a bank as a youth; became a governor twice and now aspiring to become your president? At your age, what have you achieved other than badmouthing those far ahead of you?

E pain you die.

With no sense, how can you judge correctly? With no sense, how can you now see the fire started in the minds of northern leaders by Obi? If you have been sensible, how would you not have understood that the governor of Borno took up the challenge of Obi? How have you not read clearly from the governor that there is shortage of portable water in parts of the north?

Standard or substandard, has Obi not provided water now enjoyed by the citizens? While the governor is trying to paint the borehole with colors, using public funds, Obi is busy building boreholes fast that are very easy to use. Rather than face the issue, you are busy waiting to see solar powered boreholes, erected with unaccountable billions.

Shame on all of you. You may continue voting for people who keep you miserable. Obi definitely leads as you can see. Others wait and copy him.

Now that TONTO is Angry,, let her join the #PeterObiWaterChallenge.

Now, let me even go technical.

Tonto said “Next Level”?

No naa, Peter-Obi didn't promise to take Nigeria to the Next Level..
So she shouldn't be telling lies against Peter-Obi here.

Peter-Obi promised an entirely New Nigeria, where the right things are done the right ways, using the best affordable means.

He seeks to scatter the whole of the Old Nigeria, and bring something totally new, where the existing values are revalued.

“Next-Level” is like REPACKAGING the old Nigeria, and that is not what Peter-Obi wants to bring. He wans to uproot the entire old system.

Now let’s see what she can do in her community. Obi has thrown the challenge. Hopefully those who have embezzled resources can design castles as boreholes. Obi has given them the assignment.

Truly Obi is a trailblazer!

For the current government, you can’t see what they had done because you are programmed not to see it. Btw, that is not the bone of contention, the issue is why should a potential president of a country be associated with a mess like this all in the name of constructing a borehole. Didn’t he have any class at all? That stuff look more like a shithole!

FYI, you don’t need to throw anything to me, the borehole I erected that serves houses around mine can never be compare to this rubbish below.

Nobody invited him to erect boreholes. He saw problems and he solved them. The citizens in those communities who never had portable water were happy. Their leaders were very impressed. What is your own contribution in your local community?

By the way, why do you have to go outside your own house to fetch water? Are you living in a village like those who Obi sorted out their water issues?

Where is the mess? Or did you give the man the money used to erect the boreholes?
Politics / Re: Borehole Controversy: I Am Disappointed In Obi - Tonto Dikeh by Cantonese: 7:16pm On Apr 10
She should close her yeye mouth that looks like a bush pig’s.

Shameless thieving politicians who could not think out of the box. A close look at her will reveal that her ambition for joining politics is looting.

Northern politicians are very happy. The citizens are very grateful. A few in the positions of power all the time loot public treasury. The get all forms of funds and yet with nothing as evidence in terms of infrastructure. A lot of them cannot visit their communities. Their farms and villages have been ravaged with hunger and banditry. Obi got thinking and starting fixing portable water for them. The people are happy for it.

Some who have sold their souls to poverty and misery make mockery of Obi’s effort. Why has government and the northern political leaders failed to do so? Obi said it all. Replicate what he has done in your communities. If 10,000 citizens can donate 10 each, there should be 100,000 to that number of communities.

Tonto Dikeh can jolly well build in her community or location. This is not the one off giving of rice and meat to northern beggars at Iyana Iba bus stop, which she’s done only once. This is permanent and would last the citizens for too many years to come. It is not about how beautiful, but how effective.

Anyone who’s not pleased can build his/hers and beautify as much as possible.

Philips the disgraced impeached deputy governor.

Obaseki gave him too much power , he was in charge of sports , revenue , local government and 3 times acting governor for one month each, all through their 7 years together .

Obaseki told him you can have the security votes of N500m each of the months he was acting governor.

He attended functions, he saw himself as a co-governor .. He started to move faster than his shadow ..

Imagine a deputy governor, a spare tire saying His choice for speaker of the house is different from that of the governor and it must stand ..

Jumping from Channels to Arrise to TVC..

How many times have you seen Obaseki in the press ?

Philips was jumping up and down , over-shining his master , holding parrel convention. Haba

No governor in Nigeria will take what this ingrate did to his principal ..

“ Imagine a deputy governor, a spare tire saying His choice for speaker of the house is different from that of the governor and it must stand ..”.

You call a deputy governor a spare tyre? You do not know that some deputies are more politically relevant than their bosses?

Obasanjo needed Atiku to win the presidency in 1999, if you do not know. After the primaries, Atiku who controlled the then Shehu Yaradua’s political group had won the governorship of Adamawa state. Of the five names put forward for the Vice President’s position, he was singled out for his strength and ability to secure the election for PDP/OBJ. Did he not show OBJ his political strength before the primaries of 2003?

Politics is about aspiration. It was not wrong of him to aspire to the position. He played his part to secure Obaseki, when the chips were down for Obaseki. It does not matter that he lost now. Oshiomole was not politically relevant for some time. Fayose appeared irrelevant after 2006 until he returned in 2012. BAT appeared irrelevant for a while. There they are today with their positions. Obaseki himself cut off Oshiomole who was his benefactor.

In all, what we need are leaders who can move the nation forward. What is the business of one man pocketing 500m monthly in the name of security votes please? How did that help the communities being governed? We should learn to start holding these greedy leaders accountable for the misdeeds. Look at Edo state and please compare Obaseki’s achievements with Oshiomole’s achievements? Please tell us who served better.

Travel / Re: Lady, Her Family Fly Airpeace From Gatwick London To Lagos With Expired Passport by Cantonese: 1:16pm On Apr 10
There was no big deal about this.

It was the Nigerian government that put the policy in place to allow people with expired passports travel home especially as the process to get a new passport takes several months.

Even before that there was an ETC, emergency travel certificate that could be gotten from the embassy to travel if a passport was lost. The United States (and I'm sure every other country) has a temporary emergency passport for the same purpose especially if you are in trouble in a foreign country.

The problem is that Nigerians too talk. Once they carry phone they will start broadcasting their entire life..

That’s up to the airline. The airline may be paying a price for that. If you either do not have a passport or it is expired, no airline will carry you, except in this case, probably humanitarian, as Air peace did.

She gambled greatly. All she needed to do in the circumstance submit to a letter of invitation with her British passport, to get Nigerian visas.

Again, when she’s traveling back, if she has a valid British passport, the airlines will carry her. However she can quickly get her Nigerian passport now.

ETCs are issued when travelers have problems with their existing passports, or cannot easily access them before their trip. The country of origin upon confirmation, issues the ETC, which usually last for at least one month from the date of issuance.

Get angry and construct one around your own community first, if it comes cheap in the area. Boreholes constructed with millions of naira because of the terrain are criticized by crickets like you.
