The Joint Task Force set up to quell the Boko Haram menace rocking the Northern part of the country, in the early hours of yesterday, launched a successful operation on the sects operational stronghold in Damaturu, Yobe state, killing 59 of the sect members and destroying their armoury, Chief of army staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika said Friday.

Speaking during his first official visit to the Guards Brigade headquarters in Abuja, the Army Chief said, “There was a major encounter with the Boko Haram in Damaturu yesterday. In the encounter, we over ran their major stronghold and their ammunition site”.



And as is usual in any such encounter, we lost 3 of our soldiers, 7 were wounded but we killed over 50 of their members. They came with sophisticated and heavy weaponry including GPMG’s, SMG’s and bombs but our trained soldiers subdued them”.

Dan Gertler was born in December 1973. He is a grandson of Moshe Schnitzer, first President of the Israeli Diamond Exchange, who won the Israel Prize in 2004. His family was traditionally involved in cutting and merchandising diamonds. While growing up, Gertler spent as much time as he could learning about the diamond trade from his father and grandfather. As soon as he had completed his 3-year mandatory service in the Israeli Defense Forces he opened his own diamond business.[1]

Gertler founded the Dan Gertler International (DGI) group of companies in 1996.[2] The Yedioth Aharonoth weekend supplement on 19 September 1999 asserted that in 1997 Gertler had been involved in financing a program to buy diamonds in Liberia and Sierra Leone in exchange for military training and arms deliveries. The plan fell apart due to the chaotic political changes and military events in Sierra Leone at that time.[3] The Israeli arms dealer Yair Klein, who had been convicted for earlier involvement in Colombia, was charged with arming and training rebels, and was thrown in jail.[4] Gertler was also involved in trading in Russia and Guinea.[3]

After gaining experience with purchasing and marketing artisanally mined diamonds from the DRC, Gertler started negotiations to establish a partnership with the Societé Minière de Bakwanga (MIBA), a state-controlled diamond mine operator.[1] A report in "Rough & Polished" said Gertler paid $20 million to the dominant Kabila clan in the DRC for a monopoly on exporting Congo diamonds, and that the deal included a reciprocal agreement to arrange arms shipments from Israel to the DRC.[2] However, the Israeli journalist Ron Ben-Yishai of Yediot Aharonot newspaper said that any involvement in an arms deal was highly unlikely after the fiasco in Sierra Leone, and that his family would not have allowed it. It is clear that the DRC President, Laurent-Désiré Kabila, needed the money to fund his government's struggle against rebels in the Second Congo War, which lasted from 1998 to 2003, with millions of people dying. Any assistance that Gertler could provide in arranging for arms and training by Israel would have been welcome.[3] The press picked up on the story, saying Gertler's deal included an arrangement for the Israelis to train Congolese security forces in brutal techniques, as they had under Mobutu Sese Seko, that IDI was buying diamonds from UNITA and that by paying below the market price IDI was encouraging smuggling into the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville).[5]

After Laurent-Désiré Kabila died in January 2001, Gertler briefly lost influence in the Congo, but soon managed to reestablish a relationship with his son and successor Joseph Kabila.[2] In April 2002 Emaxon Finance, a Canadian company owned by DGI group, gained a four-year right to market 88% of MIBA's rough-diamond production, about a quarter of the DRC's legitimate diamond exports at around 600,000 carats a month.[6] Gertler became increasingly close to President Joseph Kabila, and was invited to Kabila's wedding in 2006.[7] By 2009 DGI group was one of the largest wholesale distributors of rough and polished diamonds in the world. The group spans mining, manufacturing and sales.[2]

We find your DSTV advertisement of White people being shown teaching Africa's next generation as neo-colonial, arrogant and down right offensive especially in such a racialized society. Most African South Africans have been so oppressed and cut off from the rest of the world they do not even realize the deep nature of these offenses.

In post apartheid South Africa, we find your racial representations to be regressive and insensitive to the ethnic majority who are still marginalized. 78% of adverts of South African origination are still pro-white. We have seen that without exception all of your team in Africa is White. Your images show yourself to be Tarzan bringing about a new African leadership is a vulgar assault on African agency and self-determination. What kind of leadership could come from your racial in-sensitivities? Is it a leadership that services White at the expense of the African majority? Developing another generation of puppet leaders in service to Europeans?

With these white dominate adverts coupled with the very obvious economic apartheid how is your company responsible for a new South Africa? Because unless this is challenged the notion of a rainbow will remain the greatest South African Hoax. A hoax painted white, confirming the distrust between racial groups - where is your representation?

A complaint will also be lodged with the advertising standards, although we know it will fail (since they are white also) it will continue to create a public record of the racial arrogance which Africans are subjected to. The 16th of December is a public holiday in South Africa called Reconciliation Day, a day which honors the work of reconciliation between the conquers and the conquered.

All these films display one thing, the ability to forgive and forget, to move on and allowed the Whites to keep the spoils of war. The European voice internationally cheers the success of the “monkey courts” use to trade hundreds of years of pain for silly gestures. The tone is one of normalizing suffering across the board “we all suffered,” “let's heal as one.” It is interesting no one expects this of other communities. Black South Africans just like other Africans have lived on top of valuable natural resources for centuries and even millenia but even till today they don't know how to extract that resources. GOOD: Hands down, without dispute South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Perfect weather, diverse ecology, beaches, mountains, savannahs, forest, etc.

BAD | Economic apartheid gets less press, it appears less evil. Unlike pure apartheid that was a clear evil on global display, economic apartheid continues and generates less concern because people see a Black government. And in fairness to the ANC they do more for the people than most African countries. The problem is there is a line of change they are not allowed to go beyond because of the agreement to 1st at all cost protect white wealth.

BAD DRUG USE | Alcohol abuse cost South Africa's economy R9 billion a year. According to the World Health Organization, the annual liquor consumption by South Africans amounts to 7.81 liters of pure alcohol per person. This level of consumption ranks South Africa 52nd on a list of 191 countries. Many other class A drugs are common place in even the poorest township. The rise of a drug called "sugars" is crippling communities and is used by all age groups.

BAD BRAINWASHING: Nelson Mandela is a brand by brainwashing not by merit. He was deliberately created to mirror the sacrifice of Jesus (he suffered for us) and be the icon of South Africa. It was identical what they do with pop stars and national icons. And the profits services Whites first. The merchandising of the tourist industry are all white and hence the Mandela brand is a white product.

BAD CRIME: One of the most violent and dangerous countries on the planet. Nowhere in Africa even comes close to South Africa. South Africa is described as the "Capital of Rape" due to high rates of rape in this country, although it has shown a declining trend. Poverty centers also became the center of various kinds of crime, and also the threat from armed groups. The most dangerous part here is sex, because nearly 10 million citizens suffering from HIV.

TERRIBLE CRIME | South Africa has been riddled with crime for years now and Cape Town is the most dangerous city in the country. Murder and robbery, rape and kidnappings are the biggest problems in the area, and tourists are notable targets. It has a murder rate of 62 to every 100,000 residents. But outside of the urbanization South Africa can be also very peaceful.

RAPE NO 1: Sexual offenses, robberies and burglaries have all increased in the last two years; 71,500 sexual offenses (10% rise), 13,900 robberies (41% rise) and 18,400 burglaries (27% rise).

BAD TOLERANCE: Despite Zulu (prime example) also being a settler group (through from within Africa) there is a high level of cultural intolerance in the Zulu identity. This blind intolerance expects everyone African but non-Zulu to speak Zulu. Yet this expectation is not extended to the Universities, and non-African long term settlers. Culturally exclusive and ignorant of other cultures and identities causes African unity to not have much currency in South Africa. It also explains why South Africa is a hot bed for xenophobia.

BAD: What we don't realize is Whites in South Africa make more Money outside of Apartheid than they ever did in Apartheid.

BAD: An all White lead organization called Mad with the help of DSTV is reprogramming African children to make good future puppet leadership which only knows about white handouts and will never bite the master.

GOOD: South Africa boast one of the best democracies in the world. Leaders can be peacefully removed.

GOOD: Fully developed infra-structure (services, internet, roads, banks, etc)

GOOD: Unlike the deeply colonial mentality of Kenya, South African Africans speak their languages and the majority have African names.

[b]BAD RACE MONITOR: Racism is so poorly defined it slips through all the watch dogs nets. There are so many loop holes in the law that they do little to redress imbalance. The few watch dogs are White dominated organizations created to define and police racism. It is hard to believe but there is no single authoritative body which polices and monitors racism in South Africa. While those who do reports have no power to change anything. Companies are left to police themselves (See DSTV)

BAD EQUALITY: In the "locations" aka townships the only adverts you will find are alcohol and HIV related. The bulk of the alcohol and servant role adverts uses African actors, while the bulk of other adverts still majority White.

BAD EDUCATION: Most African South Africans have no idea where South Africa is on a map. The government has done little to repair the educational dilemma caused by apartheid. Very few understand anything about apartheid and how other African nations and the world help to end apartheid.

BAD DEBATE: Some people place a taboo on discussing race, so that the person challenging racial injustices is labeled "racist." All the while the person who wants people to forget about race is busy profiting from their race based privileges. The Nelson Mandela fund is a classic example. They list all the ills of South Africa and escape the issue of racial dominance.

BAD EQUALITY: It is a society of the worst cases of minority white race privilege that are fully fledged and unchecked.

BAD DEFINITIONS: The definition of African is controlled by Whites in South Africa to exclude the Diaspora (forced out of Africa by Europeans) but is inclusive of White pro-apartheid people, the same people who took the Diaspora's ancestors out of Africa. So positions are denied to the retuning African-American communities but open to White and Indian settlers. Injustices have irony.

BAD GREED: The so-called Blacks in South Africa are ridiculously materialistic to the point of destruction. They would stupidly invest more money in a car than their own house. It is very common for them to drive the latest cars while deeply indebted to the bank and living in houses worth a 1/4 of the value of the car. All in the name of impressing their peers. They amass 4*4 while never doing off-road driving.

BAD AGENCY: Despite Whites being the minority they linguistically try to colonialize terms such as African to absorb native claim to South Africa. They remain culturally, ethnically, linguistically, genetically, biologically European. They use "African" when it suits their interest.

BAD MORALS: South Africa the biggest moral crisis in Africa (promiscuity, crime, drugs, rape). The hypocrisy is demonstrated in having a moral regeneration program while the leader Jacob Zuma is deeply immoral.

BAD MEDIA: Television is deeply racist with Africans being used primarily for buffoonery and alcoholic adverts (which constitute 80% of prime time television adverts). Any product associated privilege products; holidays, luxury, etc. exclusively White faces to market the products BAD: A high intolerance and brutal violence against poor African nationals (Xenophobia). The same nationals who hosted exiled South Africans during apartheid.

BAD ECONOMICS: 90% of South African arable land is white-owned. The government set a target of transferring 30% (i.e. 82 million hectares) to African farmers by 2014. So far, only 5% has been transferred. From the 5% of redistributed land, 90% is now unused. [/b]

BAD CORRUPTION: Transparency is better than Nigeria. But corruption is inbreed, with charity organizations such as Edmund Mhlongo exploiting the people. Watch dogs such as Natal Law Society present the illusion of policing legal firms but are a self-serving organization to give the illusion of due process. These organizations have no accountability and have no record of servicing the public interest.

BAD EQUALITY: There is a personality among the Africans of deep shortsightedness, where they are smart for pennies but stupid for dollars. Trickery at the most trivial levels is common, and causes devastation at the expense of the bigger future.

BEE: A theoretically well structured scheme which in practice produces an elite of poorly skilled poorly adept Africans (Blacks) who do little to improve quality or propagate equality. Given rise to a small economic middle class who are socially still lower class. Once these new money "Blacks" get to these higher stations they close door behind them and kick out the ladder of opportunity.

Even today with a population of 50 million(40 million blacks) most of South Africa's land lays unoccupied and the majority of that vacant land is owned by the government and municipalities. South Africans are mostly centred in Cape Town, Gauteng and KZN places which were developed by whites. I doubt that there were even 3 million blacks in this country when whites arrived 300 years ago and supposedly stole the land.

Wealth is created when a person does something which another person is willing to buy. The other person can only buy if he himself has made something which another person is willing to buy. That's the barter system which was long formalised by whites into money, finances and economy. A per capita GDP of $1 000 means that the average single person in a particular country is able to work or produce things by himself which are universally considered to be valued at $1 000.  A per capita GDP of $55 000 means that the average single person in a particular country is able to work or produce things by himself which are universally considered to be valued at $55 000. That's why GDP per capita is a important statistic because it shows how productive the average single person in that country is. It's not about who owns or controls what, it's about what an individual can do which creates value

Those who have scientific knowledge will always be superior. Indians and Chinese are now becoming very scientific and their expanding presence in Africa is beginning to create the same racial tension as it has always been with whites. It's not about whites but more about who "knows". If you went to school and got taught what white people know so that you become scientifically on par with them then you wouldn't be so against them. You just pushing an inferiority complex where you unknowingly realise that white people "know" how to dominate while you remain clueless. So you blame them for being better than you and you accuse them of upgrading themselves using you and your people and at your expense and stealing your old technologies which you yourself don't know how to replicate in modern times.

This type of moaning is also done by a few uneducated black South Africans who have a warped sense of entitlement. You need to go to school and get proper knowledge so that latter on in your work life you can receive regular calls and emails from white people who ask you how something is done or what procedures to follow, that's when you will stop hating them.

Black South Africans live better lives compared to other Africans even though they are equally as poor. The development done by whites, even though it is mostly enjoyed by them, has allowed most blacks to not worry about lights going off, water quality and sanitation issues, mobility on roads rails or air, quality education and all other trickle down benefits which they don't deserve but we claim entitlement since this development is done on "our" land

Your fist point is true though, South Africa was developed for the settlement of whites not blacks but now that blacks are enjoying this development they shouldn't be complaining but rather work towards extending the development. You must just accept that people always want to associate themselves with success. As much as America is divided, all of them including African Americans are proud to hold a US passport even Nigerians who land US passport have a tendency of feeling special and bragging about it because they are citizens of a successful nation. If South Africa was not achieving globally recognized success(which is intangible success) then we would be a hopelessly divided nation as I have said. And black South Africans are just like African Americans where we brag about past successes that we had nothing to do with and provided little or no contribution but it is these past successes that are making it easier for us to create successes in the present time. The majority of African Americans have a cordial working relationship with whites and that's how it is in SA. We are not best friends but we've learned to get along when working towards set goals

This is juvenile thinking. Whites owe us nothing, South Africa is better off because of think-work done by white people, it is their inventiveness that has put South Africa at a higher level compared to other African countries. Black South Africans like me are lucky because the end of Apartheid allowed us to move into and then expand the formal systems that were long established by the whites. We are not like other African countries that had to start-up agencies from scratch, we probably would have failed. We just got the engine in top shape and running, black man just took the drivers seat and white man sat in the passenger seat and taught black man how to run a government and all other institutions. It has not been perfect but we are managing.

I'm one of many black South Africans who don't give a damn what white South Africans do or did or all that jazz, I'm more interested in creating my own success. The thing that I also do, which some don't like, is to acknowledge white mans contribution to South Africa. I grew up in Tembisa township in a matchbox house built by the white government, all of old Soweto, Alex, Katlehong, Vosloorus and others were built by the white government. Yes, blacks like to own these townships and refer fondly to them as if they built them but it's the whites who built most townships in Jozi. Black parents don't have to send their kids abroad because whites built world-class universities in our backyard. Basically if whites owe us anything then they have repaid us by grudgingly allowing us to use first-rate facilities which are now making it easier for us to make something of ourselves

This again shows your simpleton thinking. People want to associate themselves with success, America is seen to be a very successful country that's why so many Americans are proud to be American it has nothing to do with language or culture or any other nonsensical point. South Africans are proud to be South African because this country has achieved many successes recognized to most people around the world including yourselves even though you might not admit. A week or two ago UN delegates were showering SA with praise for successfully hosting the UN climate change talks COP 17 in Durban. It is this sort of feedback that creates a warm fuzzy feeling among South Africans and ultimately a sense of oneness that we are a nation of doers and achievers and not a nation of just black, white, coloured and indian. Race and racial tension exists but it doesn't define us.

Firstly, it doesn't matter how you rationalize it to yourself, the truth will remain the truth.

Secondly, white South Africans didn't steal wealth as you claim, they created it themselves. It is only fair if they are allowed to keep the wealth which they created and leave black South Africans to create their own wealth alongside them. That's what BEE is all about, white businesses are not forced to comply with that policy. It's only if they want to do business with the now black led government that they must comply.

Lastly, nationhood in South Africa exists mainly thanks to international events that we have successfully hosted since 1994. These events bring people together to work towards a single goal and when that goal is achieved it creates comradeship, pride and a sense of oneness within many. Had South Africa not hosted any international event since 1994 I'm sure we would be a hopelessly divided nation filled with people who would only identify success within ethnic and geographical boundaries because of the lack of national success.

I just started watching it right now. But also it wasn't just chocolate people, western Europe went around the world messing things up causing hell. Eastern Europe was violated by Russia and Western Europe. That is why eastern Europeans are flying to America and Britain. America would probably accept an Eastern European over an African due to white privilege.

None for slavery, non for the Holocaust of the Congo from 1880s to 1910s or their current Holocaust right now. Or the Holocaust in Namibia in 1906 where 75,000 Namibians were killed by Germans. But the Jewish people, Japanese, and Native Americans received their reparations. Why not Africans?

The only reparations I saw that chocolate people e received was from the Rosewood massacre in 1920s. But they received their reparations in 1990s when most of the people died and the survivors were very old.

But Africans have built the wealth of whites for 500 years and still to this day. That is why they are always in our business. They need us. They will never kill a slave, we must leave the economic servitude.

You're funny dude. I guess it's misconceptions such as what you expressed that make people who "know" laugh at you. It's true that there are many white racists just like they are now many black racists(I personally know a few) but what you must understand is that black and white and coloured and indian South Africans have developed a cordial working relationship. Generally black, white, coloured and indian people stick to themselves in terms of close friendships, love and those other things but we all meet at work and work forces us to get along. My facebook friends are majority black people but the lot who are white are mainly guys who I work with and a few who I went to varsity with. Same applies to many South Africans - check their facebook friends

Western multinational corporations’ attempts to cash in on the wealth of Congo’s resources have resulted in what many have called “Africa’s first world war,” claiming the lives of over 3 million people. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been labeled “the richest patch of earth on the planet.” The valuable abundance of minerals and resources in the DRC has made it the target of attacks from U.S.-supported neighboring African countries Uganda and Rwanda.

The DRC is minerial rich with millions of tons of diamonds, copper, cobalt, zinc, manganese, uranium, niobium, and tantalum also known as coltan. Coltan has become an increasingly valuable resource to American corporations. Coltan is used to make mobile phones, night vision goggles, fiber optics, and capacitators used to maintain the electrical charge in computer chips. In December of 2000 the shortage of coltan was the main reason that the popular sale of the Sony Play Station 2 video game came to an abrupt halt.

The DRC holds 80% of the world’s coltan reserves, more than 60% of the world’s cobalt and is the world’s largest supplier of high-grade copper. [b]With these minerals playing a major part in maintaining US military dominance and economic growth, minerals in the Congo are deemed vital US interests.

Historically, the U.S. government identified sources of materials in Third World countries, and then encouraged U.S. corporations to invest in and facilitate their production. Dating back to the mid-1960s, the U.S. government literally installed the dictatorship of Mobutu Sese Seko, which gave U.S. corporations access to the Congo’s minerals for more than 30 years. However, over the years Mobutu began to limit access by Western corporations, and to control the distribution of resources. In 1998, U.S. military-trained leaders of Rwanda and Uganda invaded the mineral-rich areas of the Congo. The invaders installed illegal colonial-style governments which continue to receive millions of dollars in arms and military training from the United States. Our government and a $5 million Citibank loan maintains the rebel presence in the Congo. Their control of mineral rich areas allows western corporations, such as American Mineral Fields, to illegally mine. Rwandan and Ugandan control over this area is beneficial for both governments and for the corporations that continue to exploit the Congo’s natural wealth.

American Mineral Fields (AMF) landed exclusive exploration rights to an estimated 1.4 million tons of copper and 270,000 tons of cobalt. San Francisco based engineering firm Bechtel Inc. established strong ties in the rebel zones as well. Bechtel drew up an inventory of the Congo’s mineral resources free of charge, and also paid for NASA satellite studies of the country for infared maps of its minerals. Bechtel estimates that the DRC’s mineral ores alone are worth $157 billion dollars. Through coltan production, the Rwandans and their allies are bringing in $20 million revenue a month. Rwanda’s diamond exports went from 166 carats in 1998 to 30,500 in 2000. Uganda’s diamond exports jumped from approximately 1,500 carats to about 11,300. The final destination for many of these minerals is the U.S.[/b]
