We have mismanaged loan deals for academy players a lot in this club. The only successful loan deal that readily comes to mind is Amad's 2nd loan. Once the club loans you out just know that your own is finished at the club.

Look at Oyedele for instance. We loaned him to a relegation bound team in League Two that was in the midst of losing 12 straight games and using 3 different managers. Which club in that position will give minutes to another club's academy players to learn?

He then came back to the club in the summer, ETH did not fancy him, and we sold him to Legia Warsaw in the Polish League. He got there and after 2 games with his club he got a call up to the Polish national team. There is no way a player who is making national team call ups within 2 games in a league is not good enough for League Two.

I am always shocked at some lowly clubs we send our players for loans. I wonder whether there are no championship teams to take them. I watched Oyedele agaisnt Chelsea in the Conference league, he was very good, although not quality enough to improve us at the moment. But we can get something for him, we got £10m for Kambwala for example.

I didn't write them off, I said they should continue with their development, there was never any time I was in favour throwing youngsters into the deep end to avoid them being affected psychologically. I am in favour of giving them chance in dead rubber games, but they should form the fabric of the squad

Wow, we played agaisnt Arsenal 11 vs 11 and we were the better team.

We played agaisnt Sociedad away 11-11 and we were the better team.
We played away to Lyon 11 vs 11 and was winning until Onana gave away a goal.

Agaisnt Bilbao who has the best defence in la liga we were 2-0 up before the red card. So how does that translate to winning due to 10 men.
I have been watching how many people's talk here about the team and the manager, all I can do is to just laugh.

Chido Obi at 17 is a wonderful prospect, but is not ready yet for EpL games starting. He needs to continue with the youth team and eventually go on a loan to develop more skillsz. but I was told that he is better than Hojlund. As bad as Hojlund is Obi is no where near.

We need at least 5 quality players in a number of positions including the GK. then we will be fine. The academy players should be gradually ease in or loaned out.

I did not watch the game , but I saw the highlights. It seems nobody want to praise the goals and assists of Garnarcho. . I guess only his mistakes are worth highlighting. Or may be there are other things he did in the match that is wrong.

This is how winning teams are biult. Stroke of luck and sudden explosion of youngsters who few months prior were erratic. Benzema once said in 2021 that Vini Jnr. was playing against them, look at him now.

In 2006/2007. Rooney and Ronaldo after the 2006 WC debacle suddenly exploded into world class players. Vidic and Evra who initially struggled when they arrived for decent fees suddenly became imperious. Then there was the signing of a 34 year old Van der Sar as a stop gap while we search for a long term GK. Then after missing out on Mikel to Chelsea, we were given £16m as compensation, £14.8m was used from that money to Purchase a certain silky DM from Spurs.
Then we had very good experience players who are good but just needed that crop of players to show their quality. There were Rio Ferdinand who was already world class at that time, experienced hands like Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Gary Nevvile/Solskjaer who were on there last days but contributed massively tht season, and back from injury Luis Saha. Plus that workhorse Ji Sung Park who always shines on big occasions. That was the foundation fergie used to dominate for years once more.

This was our best eleven that season was:
VDS, Gary Neville, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney and Saha(Later Larsson due to injury to Saha). There was no major earth shattering changes or spending.
Imagine adding Vidic, Van der Sar, Carrick, Evra and JS Park did to that team, plus Rooney/Ronaldo coming of age.
Remember the previous season we were 4th in our UCL group containing Lille, Benfica and Villareal. Later went on to win the Carling Cup.
No one knows what will happen next season. Alot can change, players we don't expect can explode unlocking a lot of potentials. Even Garnacho, yes Garnacho can suddenly become good, he is 20.

Not true, Although I believe there will be some improvements and its a must, but we played Porto, Fernabache and Rangers in the group stage, 40% of the teams in the UCL are this level of quality. And real Sociedad, Bilbao and Lyon are not particularly a push over team no matter how people try to mock their quality, in this Europa competition our path is one of the hardest. And we have proven under Amorim that we can stand toe to toe against top teams that plays expansive football. Look at our games against Arsenal, City and Liverpool, our problems are the physical mid table EPL teams.

For Example, Arsenal played the following teams. Atalanta, PSG, Sharktar, Dinamo Zagreb, Girona, Monaco, Inter, and Sporting. 11 points was enough to go through to the play offs. Given how we played in this Europa under Amorim, we should get wins versus Sharktar, Zagreb, Girona and may be Monaco. A draw at home to early season PSG will not be out of place, a draw away to post Amorim Sporting CP will also not be surprising, even a result versus Atalanta is even possible . And boom we have 13/15points. The possible Playoffs opponents are:
Monaco, Brest(Who are same level with Lyon), Sporting, Club Brugge, Celtic, Feyenoord (who are not particularly better than Porto, Real Sociedad, Bilbao, and Lyon infact I fancy us to knock these teams out), then Juve and City who we can avoid or even beat on our day especially Juve. So 6/8 teams we can even beat them. go to the Round of 16 and Luckily get Lille, Feynoord, PSV, Dortmond, Benfica, Club Brugge, Lille even Aston villa, scam a win against any of these and we are in the quarterfinals where we will most likely lose, thats not embarrassment in my book. During the Moyes disastrous season we reach quater finals, even Leicester reach quarter finals of UCL and in relegation battle.

Aston Villa met the following team. Celtic, Leipzig, Juventus, Monaco, Club Brugge, Bologna, Bayern and Young Boys.
City played: Inter, Slovan Bratislava, Sparta Prague, Sporting, feyenoord, Juve, PSG and Club Brugge.

These set of fixtures are not really insurmountable for us.

Next seasons UCL Galatasaray, Bilbao, Ajax, Frankfurt and Slavia Prague + Either Us/Spurs are almost guaranteed to be in the group phase, Nice, Lyon, Lazio, Roma are very close to qualification too, all these teams played this season Europa and where knocked out.
Chelsea and Betis in Conference league are close too, Bodo glimt are in play offs.

Mind you. I am not saying we don’t need improvement, but that we will get embarrassed, is not factual given the evidence of how we performed against quality teams outside EPL and against top teams. The disastrous UCL campaign we had with ETH has everything to do with ETH himself and Onana.
