what has he got to do with the loss?
A serious team will sell Bruno during the off season and put that money in getting Baleba and Donnarumma. We have no use for Bruno in this line up. Baleba and Mainoo is the perfect Pivot.

This will force Onana to seek another club. For Bayindir to go or send him to U21. Get Kepa as back up.

Any serious club would have collected 100m pounds for a 31 year old who doesn't fit the system.

Man United will regret not selling Bruno when we had the chance.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CapitalCee(m): 6:33pm On Aug 17, 2025
We are avoiding the hard truth. We supposed to have collected that 100m from the Saudis for Bruno and push it straight for Baleba and a goal keeper. But this emotional club can not just be Ruthless.
A pivot of Mainoo and Baleba is the key.

Spending all that money only to go into the season with that disjointed pivot and Rubbish GKs is just senseless. Amorim will use his hand sack himself with these Portuguese favouritism.

Send him on loan to that our sister club in Switzerland. I have said this before, as a striker he needs to reach at least 21/22 before he can come up to speed as a premier league player. He still have 3/4 years to catch up.

not to defend him but al hilal also built that squad with top player bought with serious money, and the game was close. Not a surprise to those who have been watching CWC, the competition is tough
Apart from Ruben Neves, Milinkovic-Savic, Bono, Lodi, Coulobaly and Cancelo, who are these top players? All these players will be surplus to requirements in most top half EPL teams.
Lodi couldnt cut it in Forest, when they were fighting relegation.
Neves was at wolves nothing special, Cancelo was offloaded by Barca, Coulibaly was offloaded by then bottom half Chelsea. Bono is good but he is just a GK a and declining. SMS is good too but he is past his prime.

Guardiola spent all those money to challenge for EPL. They looked average throughout the match.

There’s no need for long stories. In your first and second posts on this issue, you were asking Amorim for a title race next season or get sacked.

Now, you’re shifting goal posts.

If it takes over 90 points to win the title next season (like it has for like 5 of the last 6 seasons), you think the squad that garners an average of 66 points per season to suddenly accumulate 75 to 80 points— even if they only managed a measly 42 points last season and had the fourth worst goal scoring record in the league?

Like I said several times before, the realistic expectation is too 4 to top 6. I don’t have time for long arguments.
I didn’t say or get sacked in the title race post. Read carefully, i was saying he should be competing for the title ideally, and that not really crazy.

He should be getting top 4 at least or get sacked was my initial post, but after conversation with Afrodoc2. I agreed that Europa league place with progressive football is appropriate. That was the reason why I pegged the acceptable range to 65-75 points. Mind you that i am expecting this target given that we have less fixture congestion.

I didn’t say, 75-80, i said 65-75. If the champions finish like 95 points and we get 70points. That will be an acceptable range

Leyqute:
When was the last time United finished 10-15 points from first position in the last 12 years?

Mourinho finished 19 points behind City by the way. Ole finished 12 points behind City.

Those were the two best seasons we’ve had post SAF.

But you want a squad that just finished 15th to double their points tally and surpass this feat—- because they play once per week.

You think the City that is buying players like atarodo and Arsenal and the other teams that finished above us will be looking like mumu while we overtake them abi?

The realistic finish should be top 4 or top 6 with a good and improved playing style. Anything above that (like title race) na jara.
ETH came in after a disappointing season had just a preseason, lost first 2 games due to trying to find the best formation. He then went ahead to finish 9 points behind treble winning City. That season we reached FA cup final and won the League Cup. We also reached Europa league Quarter finals. We played 10 matches in Europa alone that season, reached the final of the other 2 competitions and finished on 75 points. we lost a lot of players due to fixture congestions, He had to deal with Ronaldo late arrival to camp, and Sancho issues. If Amorim cannot muster 65-75 points at least this season without fixture congestion, after the 6 months of squad assessment and pre season, then sacking him will not be enough punishment.

Mourinho finished 19 points behind City, because City got 100 points. The 2 seasons that Ole finished he had 66pts and 74points. Van Gaal got 70pts and 66 points.
We are not reducing our standards because Amorim was atrocious to get us to 15th. My point is if he fails to make Europe through the league and get at least 65 points next season. He must be sacked.

So you’re demanding that a new manager who just had a disastrous season achieve what no other manager has achieved since SAF retired next season… even though the club is miles behind the competition in terms of recruitment project phase and so on… and if he doesn’t do that he should be sacked. Ba?

Okay sir.
I said within striking distance bro. 10/15 points difference from the top is not too much. ETH, Ole and Mourinho were not far away from 1st at some points. Infact ETH finished with 75 points in his first season. Amorim already had 7 months to access the squad. If he cant be within 10 points within 1st place, he must leave. Thats about 65-75 points, thats not asking too much TBH.

Considering we are playing 1 game a week, Next season Amorim should be able to get at least 10/14 home wins vs teams like Bournemouth, Palace, Everton, Brighton, Forest, Fulham, Sunderland, Villa, Brentford, Leeds, Burnley, Spurs, West Ham, Wolves. And avoid defeats in at least 4/6 home games vs Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle. No home heavy defeats to mid table teams. If he can’t achieve this, he should be sent packing, this is Manchester United. His honeymoon/ acclimatisation period is over, now is business time.

Top half alone is not good enough.

He has to make Europe through the league while playing good football. I expect Top 4 and might be okay with Top 6 is the football looks good and there are signs it will get better.

Even if he makes Top 4 with unsustainable jaguda football I won’t be okay with keeping him. Jose and Ole came 2nd in that fashion and even ETH came 3rd.
On reflection top 6 with sustainable pattern of game like you said is ok, but the expectation will rise the following season.

Top 4 is different from the title challenge you mentioned earlier sha.

If title challenge is the target for next season they should just sack him now. We finished 30-40 points below teams who are buying players that are as good or better than our players.

The teams that finished dozens of points above us are not standing still and it would take more than 1 window to catch up with them.

I am expecting a Top 4 finish or at the very worst Europa League qualification through the league (not FA Cup, Carabao Cup qualification). The football MUST also improve SIGNIFICANTLY.
I had 2 comments, the earlier one, I said if he fails to make top 4 after signing Gyokeres for example and replaced Onana, he should be sacked. I still stand by that, considering we will be playing one match a week.

Then my second comment, I said he should be challenging for the title, I didnt say he should be sacked if he is not challenging. If for instance after 19 matches in December the 1st position is at 45 points, and we are 35 points, and at 2nd-6th position, I will not be calling for his sack. But, i hear some people saying just top half of the table is OK. Top half is not acceptable for me. We have to be in the mix for top 4. If not sack him immediately.

Una don start with una expectations. Take it easy abeg.

If the team gels well and the new guys boost our goal tally, we could finish near the top end of the table. If we find ourselves in a title race, it would be a pleasant surprise and by no means should anyone mandate a league title victory before the new signings kick a ball, all because we play a game a week until September or October.
If we are not in the top 4, and within the striking distance of the 1st position. Like 10 points or even 15 points depending on the performance of the 1st position. If he not there, I will be firmly Amorim out.

He is the best player in Seria A, how is that a surprise? Most of all these players we abuse in Man Utd are not as bad as we make them out to be. Out of 38 league games may be Mctoms may play well in 18, the rest he may be either below average or completely bad, but due to no media attention, his confidence remains intact, but in Man Utd, one bad game, they will use media to knock your confidence.
Zirkzee is a typical example, the guy is a proper baller, but was once booed by fans.

I have seen it online, where are fans are calling for him to be signed. I have said it before and will still maintain it. The biggest problem Man United have is the online fan base. Find a competent GK to replace Onana and sign Viktor Gyokeres. Simple and short.

I had to go and crosscheck the previous pages to be sure it was the same person.

The players we have been linked to have the potential to succeed in our team if we have the right system in place but there is no guarantee in sports.

I am more interested in us not buying players that can only work in a 3-4-3 system that we might be changing from in 6 months. I also don't want the kind of fees/contracts that will hamstring us for years like ETH did with Antony, Rasmus, Mount, and even Lisandro Martinez. In case these new players fail, they should not become immovable albatrosses around our neck for years.
Excellent. I have also noticed something. Except on very few occasions. I dont know if its me, but players are usually reluctant to leave Man united, even when their wages are not even too big.

I just hope we are signing the right players for Amorim and/or any other person that might takeover from him. Because, there is no funds to waste. Our transfers must hit 7/10 in terms of quality, otherwise, this current wilderness will become our home!
