I didnt say he was a flop, but he was not a successful signing, he performed below expectation. He was a record signing and a superstar before he joined us.

Chicharito on the other hand performed above his expectation, we were shocked by his rise in the team. He was a fantastic signing

Chicharito was a far better signing than Berbatov.

Berbatov was signed for £30m, a record signing at that time. in 2008 he struggled all through his united career and spent just 4 seasons and shift to Fulham. Infact chicharito came in and after few weeks immediately started benching him, especially in key games.

Chicharito came in 2010. Although he had some injuries. He was very fantastic scoring so many goals in key games. Infact the season he came as a youngster from Mexican club Guadalajara for just 4m Euros, he Benched Berbatov who came to us as a Superstar from Spurs.

Guy i no wan know who you remember me as. But if you watched berbatov and Chicharito you shouldn't be asking this question. Chicharito was a massive hit for Fergie. Fergie trusted Chicharito like crase. Our UCL run Chicharito was scoring and assisting till the final. Yes, EPL golden boot winner was dropped from the entire squad for a champions league final. Half of his goals that season came in three matches against Blackburn (5), Newcastle (3), and I think Liverpool (3) or something. Infact the berbatov signing was not an upgrade. We should have kept Tevez by all means.

Most of these guys na either Children or they just have amnesia, Fergie regretted not getting Tecez for 40m City paid for him. Most of Berbatov career at United he was inconsistent. Chicharito was comfortably benching him even though he just came from Mexico. Berbatov was not an upgrade and was just there. He did not do anything in united. He was our striker record signing yet he did not feature prominently in the Knockout stages of the UCL from 2009 to 2011. Berbatov was a fringe player majority of his united career. The only season he scored decently he was still benched at the crucial point of the season. Front 3 was Chicha Park and Rooney.

Bro i no get to argue. I have no issues with Berbatov. If you follow Man U that period you go know say Berbatov was not a constant starter for us. Chicharito was benching him, even that season check the Champions league run to the final in both 2009 and 2011, he wasnt there. He played 4 seasons for us, he didnt do much.

He won it with 21 goals he shared with 2 other players i can't remember now, heavily aided with 5 goals against Blackburn and hatrick at Anfield. My brother, i watched Berbatov. He is a skillful player and a joy to watch at times, but he wasn't actually a successful signing. I know exactly what i am saying. That season 2010/11, he was mostly benched by Chicharito, especially in big matches.

You are correct on Ronaldo. But won 3 EPL titles at Man United and a UCL 2 League cups, 1 Fa Cup, 1 club world championship and he was the best player in these years.

Keane did not do better than Ronado in the 21st century, if it was between 1990 to 2000, i will admit. But in the 21st century? No. Ronaldo actually did an unbelievable job when he was here. Only Rooney and Giggs were clearly ahead of him.

Forget the nostalgia merchants and recent TV analysis by Berbatov. He wasn’t really a magnificent success at Man United as many would make it seem. We all watched him. He came in 2008/09 season, struggled heavily and rarely feature in important games, benched most times even though we don't have a major top 9. Our front three was Park, Ronaldo and Rooney that season. The next season he wasnt that fantastic too, Rooney was infact moved to the top 9 position, after Rooney who was having one of his best season that year, got injured against Bayern, he lost several chances in the EPL especially versus Blackburn that made us lose the league title. The next season Fergie bought 20 year old Chicharito from Mexican league, as just a prospect. He benched Berbatov after few games, and he never recovered his starting place again, after the next season were he rarely featured, infact Welbeck ws ahead of him. he was shipped to Fulham and Van Persie was gotten.

So Rashford did much better than Berbetov yes he was a silky player and all that, but wasnt really a success at Man United, infact Tevez performed far better than him.
I will agree for Solskjear over Rashford but not clear especially in the 21st century (2000 till date) Solsjear was injured most times during that period and retired early in 2007. Fletcher I agree he is ahead of Rashford.


For people wondering why i placed Valencia over Nani. Yes Valencia was benching Nani, during Fergie era. In 10/11 season Valencia was even injured for long, came back and Fergie benched Nani for Valencia again.
