Nope! It is most definitely NOT free...
Ordinary citizens pay for the NHS through general taxation and NIC contributions.

Yet again showing basic ignorance about insurance...
Citizens mainly pay for the NHIS through NIC contributions. SMH angry

Meanwhile, UK residents are free to get their own private insurance.

#TakeResponsibilty
You are mentally lazy. Read to learn. In UK, healthcare is free. Every resident has access to free healthcare under NHS. Government pays for it. It is mandatory for every resident to have NHS card. Nigeria health insurance is fraudulent.

Poor people don’t have be seeking medical abroad to benefit from a hospital built in Nigeria that reduces foreign medical tourism... grin

Poor people will be employed by the hospital (and its suppliers), and the monies that would have otherwise have been spent abroad on foreign medical tourism will now be spent in Nigeria instead (benefiting poor people, among others), while the tax revenues generated by the jobs created in Nigeria (in addition to the company’s income tax) can be used by government to provide services (schools, clinics, etc.) to poor people.

Leave the poverty mentality behind, and #TakeResponsibility

It is the same poverty that will kill poor people because of fraudulent health insurance program that treat only malaria and typhoid.
Try to understand NHS and mental laziness is not good and be responsible.

Even the UK’s NHS is designed by politicians....
As is health insurance in Canada, Germany, and all those nations folks like you are struggling to emigrate to.

But if you prefer private insurance, what stops you from getting it?

UK politicians are not like empty headed you guys are worshipping in Nigeria. Every UK resident is under NHS and it is compulsory. Governmey pays for it. Pray you don’t have serious illness with your lagos fraudulent health insurance, it is the same poverty mentality and takeresponsinliyy that will kill you.

But you people are the ones always asking for foreign investment to be brought into the country, someone comes, invest $10Million on the building alone, and will probably spend more millions employing Nigerian doctors and specialist (blocking brain drain), enginereers that will maintain their equipment, and several domestic staff, by doing this they put more money in the economy......but instead of you to at least support or keep quite your problem is their pricing which I'm sure you haven't even looked into.....you have no idea the type of negotiations they have with the Lagos state government and various insurances companies covering health in the country......if it is paining you, get rich so you can help others go there......Bless.
The hospital will reduce medical tourism for politicians.poor people don't even seek medical treatment in abroad.
It is overt capitalism that will destroy Nigeria.

How many lagosians are under health insurance ? Hmo and health insurance guys are very corrupt. Many hospitals are not getting capitations in time. The truth is that most patients under health insurance are not getting best of treatments because there is limit of what providers can provide. There is limit unless you are in premium package. Health insurance works when 70% of population are enrolled. It avoids over- consumption of health services.

POVERTY MENTALITY... sad

The best way to fight poverty is to create JOBS, and not only will most of the JOBS created in that hospital not be filled by “rich” people (from gatemen to lab technicians, pharmacists, nurses, etc.), but even if only a small fraction of the estimated $1-2 billion that Nigerians spend on medical tourism each year (in foreign nations from South Africa and India to the West) is instead spent at this or similar hospitals in Nigerians, that’s tens of millions of US dollars that will be retained in the NIGERIAN ECONOMY and will thus create JOBS IN NIGERIA FOR NIGERIANS, generate wealth and tax revenues (income taxes from employed Nigerians and corporate taxes from the so-called “huge profits” of these private entities), which tax revenues would be (if not stolen by politicians) in public services including PUBLIC HOSPITALS and schools.

Funny how many of you folks are struggling to emigrate to places like the US and the UK (where PRIVATE PROFIT is the centerpiece of national enterprise) rather than rushing off to communist countries like North Korea that abhor private capital and profits. SMH

Evercare hospital is a private multi specialties hospital. Many Nigerians would not able to visit the hospital for any ailment.

I have always maintained that all these strange titles( Seriki fulani, Sarkin hausa, Ezendigbo, Oba Yoruba ) in another man's region is arrant nonsense.
Everyone must submit to the local/native authorities as constituted by the community.
The regional system was the best practiced so far, there was no culture clash or insubordination.
Western Nigeria, Midwestern Nigeria, Eastern Nigeria & Northern Nigeria. As the names imply, you go into the region with utmost respect for both local and regional authorities. Unfortunately, the tag "One Nigeria" has bastardized our respective heritage and culture value under a unitary constitution in a false federalism.

Aiming to channel the spirits of the 2016-17 La Remontada heroes, Barcelona travel to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday hoping to overturn a 4-1 deficit from the first leg of their Champions League last-16 battle with Paris Saint-Germain.

Lionel Messi broke the deadlock against his long-term admirers from the penalty spot at Camp Nou before Kylian Mbappe's hat-trick and Moise Kean's effort saw PSG put one foot firmly in the quarter-finals of Europe's elite competition.

Both continental giants warmed up for this game with comfortable victories domestically at the weekend, as Barcelona overcame Osasuna 2-0 in La Liga while PSG cruised past Brest 3-0 in the Coupe de France.

Match preview
Preview: PSG vs. Barcelona - prediction, team news, lineups

Lionel Messi has spent the past 15 years making Camp Nou his playground week in week out, but over the course of 90 minutes on February 16, PSG's Kylian Mbappe produced a performance which many fans believe signalled the passing of the torch.

With Neymar and Angel Di Maria watching on from the medical room, fans and journalists alike expected PSG to struggle against Barcelona and Messi - who went out there with a point to prove amid the intense speculation surrounding a move to the French capital - and the Argentine quickly silenced PSG's vocal cohorts with the opener from the penalty spot.

However, it took an inspired Mbappe just five minutes to restore parity for PSG before the half-time whistle blew, and the former Monaco man proceeded to write his name into the history books with two more strikes in the second 45, while Everton loanee Moise Kean also chipped in with a memorable Camp Nou goal for the enraptured Parisiens.

By chalking up a trio of goals on the Catalans' famed turf, Mbappe became just the third player of all time to score a Champions League hat-trick against Barcelona - following in the footsteps of Faustino Asprilla and Andriy Shevchenko - while another goal on Wednesday would see him become the youngest player in the history of the tournament to hit 25 goals - a record currently held by none other than Messi himself.
