According to ITF Grand Slam rules:

1. Verbal abuse is defined as a statement about an official, opponent, sponsor, spectator or other person that implies dishonesty or is derogatory, insulting or otherwise.

Serena called the umpire a thief and a liar

2. Abuse of racquets or equipment is defined as intentionally, dangerously and violently destroying or damaging racquets.

Serena Smashed her racquet in anger and damaged it on the court

3. Players shall not receive coaching during a match (including the warm-up). Communications of any kind, audible or visible, between a player and a coach may be construed as coaching.

Even Serena's coach has admitted he was coaching during the match

So what's all the fuss about? It's clear Serena violated all the above rules and she was rightly punished by the umpire. For her to start playing the gender card is absolutely pathetic!! What a clown!!

Saying she got on-court coaching is very debatable because Serena doesn't use and need it, the same on-court coaching was used in the quarter finals of this same US Open and she declined, but the Umpire said he say her coach giving her thumbs up which must be a signal for some sort of coaching, do u know how many thumbs up Sasha gave Osaka?? Athletes get frustrated in the heat of the game and they smash rackets and hurl slurs at even ball boys, they get penalized but not "cold violations".Google cold violations in tennis pls.Talking about home fans, Osaka is also Hawaiian(American), thats why her skin is like that and can't even speak Japanese, so they are on same turf becos Americans were rooting for both of them.

Even Serena's coach has admitted he coached during the game so that argument is mute already. They broke the rules, the umpire did his job and penalized them for it

These comments reeks of disgust, Serena wasn't playing a victim card, Ramos definitely went too far with the cold violations and he was biased, it was glaring to the extent that the whole stadium booed him and N.Osaka when she was handed the trophy.

It was sexism at its peak, becos male counterparts like Nadal and especially Nick Kyrgios have done waaayyyy much worse than that.

If u really watch tennis, you will know Serena's style of play, she always conserves energy by conceding in the first few sets but unleashes her inner beast by always coming back to win.She's a phenomenal athlete, definitely not a sore loser and was evidenced by how she gracefully comforted Osaka and was hushing the whole stadium when they all turned against the little girl.

Did her coach break the law or not? Did she smash her her racket on the court or not? Was the umpire supposed to penalize her for those two offences or not? That's what a rational thinker should answer and not this sentimental reasoning you're outlining here. The umpire was just doing his job and FYI the only reason he was booed was because Serena was playing at home, in front of her own home fans so they were clearly biased in her favour

Serena is from the US, she was playing at home in front of her home fans so the fans were obviously biased in her favour

You're the one who doesn't watch tennis, was Serena's coach supposed to be giving her hand signs while a game was on? Was Serena allowed to smash her racket on the court? Which of the penalties wasn't deserved? The umpire was just doing his job and the entitled clown thought she could play the gender card to blackmail him
