Do it, please if you have the oppurtunity to leave this country now, you will not regret it
I mean, if I have the opportunity to choose, leaving the country after studies or joining the Nigerian Army will be cool. I don't know if leaving the country after studies with the degree is possible.

Finished university 2012, 5 years later no meaningful employment.
One day i figured out that my B.Eng certificate was no longer useful, dumped it and started programming from scratch, watching Youtube and free courses from coursera
Started coding at 2017 (27 years) and I have never looked back.

You already have the funds, it makes it easy for you
The bolded broke my heart, a second year EEE student here...With the hope of leaving the country.

Elect elect is probably the best engineering course you can study in Nigeria. Make sure you are good at designing systems (whether power or electronic systems) understand most concepts from first principle and get a good 2:1 and above, publish some technical papers... and hold God tight..
This means alot Sir, I appreciate.

I nice field of study I must say, I advice you don't settle for anything less than second class(Upper division) b'cos securing a job with this is quite easy than with a lower CGPA. Ignore all the distractions & do away with friends who doesn't have same goal (ambition) with you, just put in all effort for this 5 years of studies so in the end you'll find light at the end of the tunnel.

N.B: knowledge is the secrete of sustainable development that results into unlimited achievement, therefore, investment in knowledge is the gateway to a groundbreaking testimonies.
Wish you all the best sir.
Thank you very much Sir! I really appreciate.

My bro, I advice you pursue your passion.
My story bellow:

My elder bro who happened to be the breadwinner of the family ask me to study nursing in uniben and also vow not to sponsor me if I study otherwise.
I spent 4yrs in uniben studying nursing that made him happy...
Long story short, after graduation I secured a job which I was paid 25k monthly BUT while I'm sex school I was very good in Maths, further maths & physics. I was able to save some money and I put in for poly-JAMB after successful 2 yrs of studying I obtained a National Diploma in Elect Elect Eng.(distinction) that made me to join a reputable oil producing company...Soon after joining I went straight for HND, I made Upper Credit by God's grave I'm a master degree holder and very happy with what I do.

In conclusion bro, pursue your dream.
Sir! I am currently a 200 level EEE Student. Thanks for this, Any advice?

I actually did after my first Bachelors in Nigeria.I had to after moving outside the country, I had to research courses that align with the country’s needs and high demand. Computer science did the magic and I haven’t had any regrets with the years spent in college. Initially I had friends that laughed at me but today they are envious of my progress within a short period of time.My advice to those moving to the US or Canada, I don’t know much about other countries, is that they should research and go for courses that are in high demand in their respective countries. I have friends that came to the US to study international business. Today many of them are depressed and one has even resorted to yahoo out of frustration.
please boss, what's your take on elect.elect? currently a 2nd year student.

If I remember how my mum died, My eyes always dropped tears. She was admitted the first time, got transfused, got better. Later the blood dried up, we went back, instead, as a professional to figure out why, They transfused again. Imagine....I now understand why most of these politicians are traveling abroad for medics.
CareerRe: Which Is Better, Pharmacy Or Civil Engineering? by captainbangz: 9:19pm On May 06, 2021
Gerrard59:
EEE - Electrical and electronics engineering? If so, yes. This depends on the career route you take with it - MSc Computer Science or tech developer will it hasten your japa process than say working in power generation firm. Use the degree and enter the digital industry as it has lots of jobs. EEE is a good degree to build digital skills on. As an example, there are over 10K developer jobs advertised on South Africa's LinkedIn website and over 19K jobs in Singapore'e tech industry were left unfilled because of lack of skilled personnel. Huge demand as a result of weak supply which will translates to high salaries.
Ok, thanks. I am an undergraduate thinking between telecommunications and electronic or control and instrumentation option, any advice?

I know my advice is coming late but study a course that will help you to japa when the time comes. Easier to settle down in the labour market - certifications and examinations.
Can one japa with EEE?

Women would rather get fvcked by a man they'd fvcked before than open up to an entirely new person. It's preservation grin

Which begs the question; Would you be comfortable marrying a woman who's past has been with just 2 men who fvcked her a thousand times
OR
The one who was fvcked by countless men but just a couple times?

the best course to study in University especially in an age where degrees are worthless is medicine. A doctor can never be hungry. there are always jobs for Doctors, and there are always good countries that need doctors and pay well. You want to emigrate to another country?...the best qualification you can have is a medical degree. There is no advanced country in this world that does not need Doctors.

One added benefit is I doubt you need connections to get a job as a doctor in Nigeria as much as in other professions. People automatically accord you a certain reverence or respect one they know you are a doctor......no matter how stoopid you really are ( I know many very foolish stooopid doctors). Doctors are probably the only profession left that still automatically commands some level of genuine respect from society no matter what country you are in the world.....people no longer respect politicians and Religious leaders.
@the bolded, I know a Doctor who got a job via connection.

A registered Engineer can also be using his license to stamp drawings for people and even act as a consultant and he will still make it big... Do you know what it means to stamp and seal a project of even 30m.
Heard you get 20% of a contract amount of which proposal you make and sign as an engineer and stamp with the seal, aside your the main pay you'll receive. Heard there was this Lecturer in my school, a state governor was begging like a kid to sign a proposal, the man refused, because the money is way more than the contract (heard it was about 2billion naira for street lights) for the state.
