THE BEAUTY IN THE FOOLISHNESS OF THE GOSPEL
These days especially with the help and invention of social media, people tend to sound intelligent when they speak against Christians and the belief in the existence of a supreme God.
Christianity is now seen as a form of mental slavery which was introduced by the white men (It's seen as a scam).
Well, truth must be told, the message of we the Christians called the "Gospel sounds so FOOLISH to the carnal mind. It doesn't make sense and it's not logical.
The message of the Cross; the death, the resurrection, the ascension, the belief, the confession, the faith,the substitution, the return, the judgement etc
To make matters worst we have, the speaking of unknown tongues, which still doesn't make sense to some Christians talk more of unbelievers.
You see they all sound and look foolish, but that is where the POWER OF GOD lies.
"The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.” So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. refusing to accept the clay pot because of what it is made of would be a loss of fortune...
"It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."
God has been and is still doing wonders through his word, the dead are raised to life, the sick are being healed, sinners are saved, life are being changed ...They are just to many..

you spoke my mind Bro. come to think of it, all men of God in Nigeria has got a share in one railing accusation or more, from infidelity, to love of money and political flaws.
But in in all their churches grow like wide fire. go there on Sunday, you wont even know if any thing was said, e.g Christ embassy, Winners.......etc

LESSON: Understand that at the finality there is neither male nor female, every one will give account to God all by himself. so when you hear stuff, your attitude as a believer is to pray in love for God to turn things around for his glory, instead of been negative because its not you local assembly or to score chip point. Secondly, you are to pick the word of God , follow precept by precept , understand it for your self, walk in love and faith knowing that we will all give account of our works on earth to God while pastors will do same. so no time to find fault or talk negatively. remember Jesus attitude to those that brought the woman caught in adultery, it was that of you all have one sin or the other that you struggle with, if you are without sin, cast the first stone. so knowing that Christianity is a personal race is the beginning of wisdom.

It may seem right to you but may never be right in the sight of God. You all feel that you can master the ways of God but you can't. He works in a mysterious way. To you, a big church and a wealthy pastor is a sign of God's blessing but it may not be. Poverty is not also a sign of a person forsaken by God. It can be anything from a test (as in the case of Job) or a chosen life (as Jesus Himself did) and His Apostles.

As for Oyedepo and the other flamboyant pastors, they are nothing but broods of vipers who have already received their rewards here on earth.

Well, am aware of the fact that many pastors are exploiting there members but that is not enough reason to classify the genuine ones to in that category...As you said Poverty is not a sign of a person forsaken by God (You are very correct )at the same time being Rich is not a sign that you have forsaken God...
Remember it was this same God who made Abraham, Isaac,,Jacob, Jabez and Solomon very rich,.
The Bible also made it clear that (Jesus became poor so that we can be rich) it didn't say spiritual riches it said RICH

Believe me brother God has blessed people and is still blessing people (Men of God are not excluded)

it said "if we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you"

You said the men of God are not helping the poor, but they don't have to broadcast their giving b4 you know that they are giving... Eg Oyedepo gives scholarship on merit but he does not broadcast it

Personally I have experienced many breakthroughs and blessings in my live ..just by giving to men of God alone..That's y am not move by what people say..
When Judas accused the woman that poured expensive perfume on Jesus feet of wasting instead of giving it to the poor..Jesus response was that u have d poor always with you (so giving to the poor is also your responsibility not just for pastors) , I have many more to say concerning this but let me just stop here...

Have u ever pondered 4 a while, y these pastors are not disturbed despite d heavy criticisms they receive? Why they keep ignoring despite d strong oppositions from some high profile icons like freeze and his likes? Or why there ministry keep progressing and why there members keep increasing despite d numerous bashing from social media?
Well its obvious someone is "kicking against the Stone". Alright for some seconds try to imagine a child kicking hard against a rock with his bare foot, who's gonna get hurt? The child of cos! Unfortunately, that's exactly what u do when u try 2 fight d church of God and its delegated leaders. I call it a "silent victory" cos looking at it from a normal view, the critics seems 2 b on d winning side, but on a closer look d church keeps expanding and progressing lol. When u are against anointed men of God, believe me u are against God himself, it doesn't matter if u are Christian or not. So d choice is urs friends, will u keep on kicking against d stone or will u join d winning side?
