Mirasteel: SA can't win their remaining matches, those guys are not timid or weak, they are out to destroy any team. Let's pray we win this one first. That's the most important thing right now. SA are more convincing than this Nigerian squad. If Rwanda should damage this game for Nigeria, that's the end of their world cup journey. 3points deduction won't even matter anymore. |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Vs Rwanda: FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (1 - 0) On 6th September 2025 by CaptainFM1: 6:32pm On Sep 06, 2025 |
Qualifying for play off is even tougher than winning the group stage as far as Nigeria is concerned.
The easiest pathway for Nigeria right now is to win this match and the remaining three matches and pray that SA lose all their remaining matches.
As for 3-points deduction, the super chickens should not bank on that. If it eventually comes, it would help them only when they've helped themselves by winning all their remaining matches.
That play off path is almost impossible as it stands.

Too much individual play and everybody wants to score which could be very dangerous. Rwanda is using game management to while away the time. Can't say this is where it will tilt, but one thing is clear to everyone, this Nigerian squad are not a world cup material. |

gentleguy1975: South Africa is leading us by 9 points, assuming we win the 2 games vs South Africa and Rwanda South Africa will still be leading by 3points then we will hope FIFA deduct 3 points and 3 goals from south Africa to make it even, then win our next two matches in October and hope South Africa drops points in their next two matches! Such an almost hopeless situation! Would you want to see this kind of Nigerian team at a world cup or you would prefer the home base South African team at the world cup? |

sammiewrite: Really? Even if I'm wrong, you honestly believe the reason that was given, which is that she didn't show up for the monthly biometrics verification?
You understand someone has to verify her, and that if that person doesn't verify her or verify her but incorrectly, it is the same thing as she not showing up for the verification, right? Also consider that the biometrics issue came up after her outburst and not before?
You may have missed my point that Raye courted more than one enemy - Lagos peeps, NYSC officials, political sycophants who want to impress the president (heck, the current DG is even from the same state as the president) - but I'd advise you and Raye to calm down to understand your country's system and her people. Any other thing else is just speculation, even though you and I may know the main reason for extending her corp service. The point is whatever reason for extending her service must be clearly stated and made known to her. It is on that basis that she can then proceed to appeal. I understand that she might have crossed some powers that be, I cannot speculate since that wasn't adduced as the reason for extending her service. If she try to argue on the topics "Worst president" and "Smelly Lagos" issues, good luck with that. However, she will equally have to address the substantive reasons as stated. |

She then decided to rub it in by responding to a user that, not only are her host (a majority ethnicity in Nigeria) smelly, one of their brothers is also her Uber driver in Abuja!
The funny thing with going this kinda route is that she has certain persons in mind as being behind her predicament, not knowing that her matter is what I will like to call "community project." But they didn't state the above as the reasons for extending her service. |

We must take religion out of our schools and leave them with the religious institutions. |

dboY1123: Good morning all I want us all to look into a request from a returning parent and come up with suggestions, advise, examples(picture samples) etc. A family left our school some years back while their daughters were in nursery and lower pry classes.
They're planning to come back now while they are in the secondary sch Ss2 and SS 1 now One going to SS2 didn't do well in our entrance test at all which we advised to repeat. The SS1 performed excellently So parents said they can't be in same classes. That they will get extra teachers you know their excuses.
The reasons why they left was that they took them to a Faith based sch so they could learn their religion, Islam, Long hijabs. Now coming they want us to allow them wear hijabs in which I said NO cos ours isn't a Faith based sch as I won't even allow Christians SU cover their hair in sch.
I suggested that they buy them beret caps and wear after sch. So the parents went back home to think over it.
Do you think we should bend our rules to accommodate them buy allowing Beret, which the parents agreed to or we should maintain our standards knowing fully well that other parents would replicate.
Also I think IRS is now a compulsory subject in secondary schools new curriculum
Google Image used for illustration If you allow them wear hijab, soon, Celestial kids will not wear shoes and come bare footed to school, and Babalawo kids will wear juju dress come to school. We must remove religion totally from school |

isyourboy: I’m not the begging type as I have a lot of things going on for myself. My sister joined her husband in Canada last year courtesy of her husband. Outside of the little 50k, 100k there that this man used to send to me (I don’t know how much he gives my parent — In law, by the way ), he’s never thought of establishing me in business or find a way for me to join my sister in Canada.
Even most times you have to remind him before he send the pittance he sent to me. Last week, I told him to find a way for me to join my sister in Canada, and he said he’s still paying for the debt he took for my sister to join him and he want to send her to school also. Meanwhile I didn’t know this. Okay then I can wait. After then I told him to find me a bulk sum so I can start some business. He asked how much and I said 5M naira would be enough, he cut the phone, called him back and send him msg on WhatsApp which he read and didn’t reply. I called my sister and told her what her husband did and she said she will talk to him.
You have been in Canada for a while and little things to give back to the family is difficult for you? Not his fault So because someone married your sister now, the person has turn to your ATM machine? Why are you having such sense of entitlement? |

A three-point deduction is now likely to be handed down to Bafana Bafana before the resumption of games in September after the world soccer-governing body informed SAFA about the infringement and the possibility of a three-point deduction, but it has yet to be enforced. While Nigerian officials and the public are closely watching the issue and have brought it to FIFA's attention, they were not the ones responsible for filing the official protest. The responsibility for the protest fell to Lesotho, and reports indicate their filing was late. Lets clear the air right now. According to FIFA regulations, if a team wants to lodge an official protest regarding the eligibility of a player or other match-related issues, it must formally submit the protest within 24 hours after the match ends. Implication of Missing the Deadline: By not filing within this specified timeframe, Lesotho technically lost the right to an official protest regarding Teboho Mokoena's eligibility. This significantly reduces the chances of FIFA taking retrospective disciplinary action based solely on Lesotho's complaint. Generally, FIFA strictly adheres to procedural deadlines. Missing the protest deadline usually results in FIFA dismissing the claims. Have you seen any mainstream media talking about this? Everybody continues to speculate on an issue that self expired when no protest was filed within 24 hours. Lesotho that would be the direct beneficiary is not even pushing further. Only local media and bloggers are pushing the storyline in Nigeria and Benin Republic because it's good market for them. |
