sammyscholar:
Evacuation during fire outbreak in a high-rise building can present a huge challenge. You would need to get to the ground floor before you can make exit from the building. Elevator may have stopped working and the staircase might not be easily accessible. Also, the smoke of the fire is as deadly as the fire itself, some may have passed out before they make it to the exit.
You're very correct, the smoke kills faster than the fire. Ideally, high rise buildings and any building that occupies more than 50 people should have safety officer/fire warden.

Congratulation Hilda!

The Guinness world record book has now been bastardized, it used to be coveted and revered, but now, they have records for all manner of rubbish.

Patiently waiting for Chef Dami to do largest pot of Ewa Agoyin.
GWR has always been filled with rubbish right from the start. Just attempt anything that has never been done or do anything that has been done better and follow the laid down guidelines.

Those people trekking from Lagos to Cairo for Buhari should have applied for GWR. Who knows, they might get GWR awards too.

Dear Nigerians, let me use this medium to express myself.

This country is far from where it should be, and we cannot afford to let this same leadership return in 2027. The hypocrisy is glaring: everything the president once condemned, he now practices or plans to implement.

How can any sane person watch as ruthless bandits who have bled northern states dry are invited to peace talks—led by a governor of the ruling party—while no decisive action is taken to crush them, no emergency rule declared in those terror-stricken regions? Yet in Rivers State, a peaceful state with people-centered projects, an emergency rule is forced upon us—simply to preserve political power through the FCT minister.

This is not leadership; it is selfish inconsistency, a betrayal wrapped in hypocrisy, parading as progress. Power is not eternal. One day, every steward will answer for their actions.
So who will bell the cat?

The same people that are suffering will still collect 5k to sell their votes. They will still bring tribal and religious sentiments to it when election time comes.

Sometimes, I don't blame the people that Japa. To put faith in this country is very risky!

Gross incompetence from US security services. The kind of incompetence that makes Burundi police look like super stars. What a disgrace.

It took them almost 2 days to even identify him. He could have been anywhere out of the country by that time, if he was smart. Turned out he wasn't.

The clowns who call themselves the world police can't even police their own country. They had to arrest 2 innocent people just to save face.

[s]Even Nigerian police would have done a better job[/s]. If the killers father who handed him to the Police, they might have never caught him.

Shame! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Don't even mention Nigerian Police. Do you know how many unsolved killings we have in the country?

What’s brah on about?😂 Are you sure we watched the same game? So of all the players (especially the Forwards) you could fault for being trashy today, it’s Iwobi (who was relatively better) that is your scapegoat?. Cut the dude some slack, he showed class both in our previous game against Rwanda and the one tonight.
He showed crass! His touches and passes were horrible. As a playmaker, he needs to hold and control the tempo of the game. He appears to be in a rush all time.

I'm not making him largely the scapegoat. There were so many players that performed below average as well. You don't have to agree with my take just as I neither agree nor disagree with yours.

The same Iwobi that everyone was praising during our last match. What really do you guys want?
I also complained about him the last match.

If you go and check my comment from the begining of this thread, I said the success of today's match will depend on his performance.

He's no where in control of the balls, his passes were horrible. He doesn't engage his brain before his feet. He's quite tardy in today's match as well.

Kudos to SA for good game management. I knew the OG will come back to bite us, but then OG is part of the game. Its the pressure the SA gave that resulted in the OG.

The entire squad do not deserve to be at the world cup.

Good game management by SA. Honestly, if they can't throw the entire squad away, they should throw Iwobi out of that squad.

If we don't take over the midfield, this game will end 4-0 in favour of SA.

My concern is Iwobi. He is a lame duck playmaker. His passes are horrible. He's always in a rush as if he's scared to hold the ball and take control.
Sports › Re: South Africa Vs Nigeria: 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (1 - 1) On 9th Sept 2025 by CaptainFM1: 5:12pm On Sep 09, 2025
Why can't Iwobi hold ball, relax and think. He is very vital for today's match. He should control thr ball and passes as a playmaker. He's always in a rush!

He was horrible in the last game and he has started again.

This SA pitch is something else. The grass doesn't seems to be leveled. Maybe it's just me noticing that!

Not just Nigeria or South Africa, in the history of football, there has never been a time when any country participating in a competition was allowed to choose match officials. It didn't happen then, it is not going to happen with the Nig - S/A game. That is the difference. That is consistency!

Inconsistency is when since 1999 every single Nigerian president singlehandedly picked an INEC chairman but the current regime is where y'all woke up (after three presidents and 20 solid years).

You know it, I know it, and Tinubu himself knows it that this kind of calls is not in the interest of the country but just some people who want him out and want their favourite politician in. And that is why Tinubu is going to appoint an INEC Chairman, and so will other presidents after him.
Do you now agree that there's no time too late correct a wrong?

And I ask, why? Even so, why should it happen now? I don't care about Tinubu one bit but where was this call when OBJ was using Maurice Iwuruwuru to rig elections blatantly? When in 2003 we would be on the queue and elections results for our local government will be getting announced? Shouldn't this have been the perfect time to start this call?

I know the usual response "should we continue doing the same thing because it happened in the past?" But my response is, why not, especially since not only did we allowed it for OBJ, we allowed it for two other presidents in GEJ and PMB.

What this tells me is that, people making this call now are not doing it for the love of the country or its people but because of their hate for the current president. I can almost bet my life that even if Tinubu heed this call and their favourite candidate gets into Aso Rock today as a result, they will revert to the status quo and there will be one of two reactions: silence (as it was during the time of OBJ, GEJ, and PMB) or bold-face defense on why the president appointing INEC Chairman is the best decision ever.

Whatever we do though, we should always remember that presidents will come and go but Nigeria will remain for many years to come. Special demands such as this should be made in the interests of the people of Nigeria, irrespective of our feelings for the current occupant of the seat of the presidency.
There's no time too late to correct a wrong. "Nigeria will be playing SA tomorrow. You will not expect Nigeria or SA to select that match officials". I hope this analogy explains it better to you?

Nigerians, the problems we have today in this country is INEC. If they choose to be dependent and announced the right winner of election without being bias or compromised, Nigerian won't have remain like this for decade. INEC is the No 1 enemy of Nigeria.
No 2 enemies is the Judiciary.
No 3 is the Police and other law enforcement agencies.
