Car Talk / Re: Common Car Purchase 'traps' In Nigeria by captalex(m): 1:58pm On Dec 13, 2012
I think the reason people purchase certain cars is because they have seen other folk use the same vehicle over a period of time and have been able to offer them reliable advice on how well the car performs.

Nigerians naturally prefer the better safe than sorry motto. especially in Lagos where if you have a faulty/unreliable car you might end up in rough situations with very unfriendly people.
Autos / Re: 2003 Audi A6 Quatro Very Clean Regstrd reduced Sale@1.4m by captalex(m): 1:58pm On Dec 11, 2012
Siena: Make: Audi.
Model: A6.
Engine: 2,976cc V6 2 x DOHC 30V.
Fuel system: Sequential, Multi Point Fuel Injection.
Fuel type: Petrol.
Induction: Naturally aspirated.
Cylinder head: Light alloy.
Cylinder block: Cast aluminium.

TRANSMISSION

5-speed Tiptronic.b
Drive: AWD.

PERFORMANCE

Power: 220 bhp.
Torque: 300 Nm (221 lb-ft).
0-60 mph: 8,4 secs.
Maximum speed: 147 mph (238 km/h).

RUNNING COSTS

24 mpg.
Euro Emission Standard: Euro III.

Notes: Audi's large family sedan, the A6. The 3,0 V6 30V engine offers substantial advantages over its predecessor, the 2,8 V6 30V. With its all-aluminium construction, it is lighter than the old cast iron 2,8, and with the revised fuel system, more economical despite the power hike. Audi's legendary Quattro drive means all 220 horses are put down cleanly. Typically German, the ride may be a bit on the firm side on rough roads, but grip is assured. Perhaps not as much a driver's car as the BMW 530 Sport E39, but a worthy contender. Avoid roadside mechanics if longevity is paramount, oil changes should be carried out at least every 6,000 miles. The all-alloy V6 is good for well over 300,000 miles. The A6 is mechanically similar to the VW Passat B5, so any decent Volkswagen tech will be familiar with this car.

OTHERS TO CONSIDER

BMW 530i E39 3,0 I6 5-speed automatic (231 bhp).
Mercedes-Benz E320 W210 3,2 V6 5-speed automatic (220 bhp).
Volkswagen Passat B5 2,8 V6 5-speed Tiptronic (193 bhp).

Hey siena,
What german brand and model of car saloon would you recommend to be a very good dd(daily driver) on nigerian terrain.
An Audi a4,an e39 BMW 545i, a BMW m5
You could also put your experience with these automobiles in your comparison .
Thanks.

It's folks like yourself that discourage ladies from coding. So in your own small stereotypical world the only Jist you would enjoy having with women would include talking about their ikebe .boobi and how many bowls of nkwobi you want her to make for you abi?. It all boils down to interest and how the both of you connect.

Is it during the pre interview stage they ask about history of gtb and various facts about the bank or in the final interview stage?

Celebrities / Re: Tonto Dike(nollywood) Vs Joselyn Dumas(gollywood): Who Is The Most Beautiful? by captalex(m): 9:26pm On Dec 06, 2012
Good Girl: Joselyn Dumas is more beautiful and apart from having a better body than Tonto, she also has the advantage of being classy and feminine (the two qualities Tonto lacks).

If you've heard of the arduino or the rasberry pi, they provide more advanced functions and allow you to program the chip using functional languages like python.

Car Talk / Re: Ever Had Your Car Stolen Before? Advice Others. by captalex(m): 11:56pm On Dec 02, 2012
Remii: My Lexus gx470 was snatched at gun point at gbongan junction, the robbers took me and my wife hostage in the car for about two hours and drove us over 150 km away towards Oyo town before let us go in middle of nowhere just to confirm the car would not stop either by electronics or fuel shut off mechanism. I didn't regret not tracking it because they threatened to kill us if the car had stopped. I only regret under insuring the car. Unfortunately Nigeria Police is a disappointment. My BB stolen with the car is still in use in Cotonou by a young lady yet NPF has not done anything since January 2012.

Advise: Comprehensively insure your car for an amount that can give you another car if stolen or damaged.

could you give a breakdown of the cost of the insurance.
Car Talk / Re: What Are The Pros, Cons And Costs Of Buying Salvaged Cars? by captalex(m): 11:38pm On Dec 02, 2012
Was thinking of going into the salvage business myself, being as It's one of the profitable ways of getting your money back from car sales in the competitive Nigerian auto-scene. but with all the risks you guys mentioned, I don't want to be held responsible for the death of fellow Nigerians all in the name of cutting costs and making profit.so I'll stick to modifying cars that I have and driving them for the hell of it.
