ezicat: Is he doing the cooking, cleaning and child rearing while he is home "relaxing?" If he isn't let him know that times have changed and so has the family - if you're to be the breadwinner, he should be the nurturer. Then I'm sure he'll start looking in no time.

PPS: You're also too tired to have s3x. That should also get him out of the house more quickly.
You are the kind of girl that I pray everyday that God shouldn't allow me to meet in my search for a partner, you will nag us to death, deny us sex at the slightest argument and kind that brings very little to the table, abeg don't take her advice,at least he was providing before he lost his job, just know that in time he will get back on his feet.
Family / Re: Relocating To Nigeria : What Budget? by captalex(m): 1:14pm On May 13, 2012
dayokanu: I have stayed in the west for over 3years I go out at night regularly, I have never been robbed before anywhere

but while in Nigeria hardly does a week pass without a colleague being robbed in traffic either on Osborne road or Apongbon

Actually I dont leave work till 10pm so I can speed pass Osborne without being robbed.

Yet Osborne is supposed to be the highbrow area of Lagos.

Imagine what now happens in Abule Egba, Egbeda Shitta and other middle class areas?

Wearing a suit is an open invitation to robbers

crime in Lagos cant be compared to anywhere in the west

The knowledge that there is a law enforcement which does their job is even enough deterrent to people compared to what we have in Naija
No need to wait till ten before you begin your speeding stunt.by 7 when most of all leave the office,we fire the car all the way past osborne,I don't even wait to buy plantain chips anymore.

coogar:

crime in the states is not 1/3rd of what happens in nigeria. this ignorance must stop.
it's just that nearly every incident makes it to the 9pm news in the states whilst the ones in naija are
swept under the carpet. the crimes reported in naija are1000th of what really goes on.

the same naija where pickpockets are maimed on the streets on a daily basis, cars crush pedestrians
like no man's business. the same nigeria where tobacco/alcohol can be sold to a 7-month old baby
if the baby can find its way to any mallam shop. abeg - nigeria is worse than any where i have been
to. it's a hell-hole.
No matter how hard you try to distance yourself from the truth, the fact is you ARE and will always be a NIGERIAN.So instead of sowing seeds of sorrow and getting people depressed, you better look deep into yourself and honestly find that thing that causes you to express such distaste for your motherland.fix it if it as bad as you paint it.

debosky: Where on earth did you go in London for kids to be throwing oranges at you and calling you names? That couldn't have been a pleasant experience and left a bad taste in the mouth. On the other hand, there are others who haven't experienced such things and feel respected - they will likely have a different view point.

This sounds quite drastic - in time for this school year means by September and you are still 'considering'? How far along are your plans?

I guess it all depends on where you and your young boys live in London - life can be very conducive in the right places. Have you considered the enormous cost of private education in Nigeria?

For many/most Nigerians it is all about making it - you go abroad to make it, then you come back to Nigeria to either show everyone you've made it or use what you've made abroad to 'make it' even further in Nigeria. grin

E.fg who has done this?
Family / Re: Relocating To Nigeria : What Budget? by captalex(m): 11:49pm On May 12, 2012
Chinom: Most of the comments here are simply ridiculous. Nothing but grandstanding. One can move and settle in naija with far less than what is being quoted here. You don't have to move to VI, Lekki, Ikoyi or even Magodo. There are many other places you can move to on Lagos mainland and pay much reasonable rent. You can then stay there while building your own house. Many bankers earning Between N100 and N150k a month are living comfortably well in lagos.

For me, once i can take c of the heat, i can live anywhere in lagos.
If you are waiting for when you are ready before you move, then you may never make that move to relocate.

About bankers makin 150k,I thought the starting salary in a naija bank e.g gtb was 250k.about them Living comfortably could you explain further,if they spend 100k on rent what exactly can they do with the 50 that is left assuming they earn 150k monthly.

Having an expatriate job in naija is a long thing, entrepreneurs make the most cash,so put on your thinking caps and make it happen for you or we.
Family / Re: Relocating To Nigeria : What Budget? by captalex(m): 1:20pm On May 12, 2012
Tstark: @OP
I think your budget is a little bit too extravagant. Some of those things you have listed are luxuries and are only intended for the very wealthy and not for someone who still intends to work for someone else. I'm sure you don't have people driving you around where you currently live so i don't see why you cant do the driving yourself. As far as 24 hour electricity goes you can achieve that if you really want to but it will really hit you in the pocket. You're gonna have to cater for some down time during the day when everyone is at work/school, and that should lighten the burden a little.
If you plan to build your own house before moving over and you haven't even started building yet then you might as well forget the whole idea of moving back in the near future and just plan for your retirement cos that's not a reasonable option if you haven't even started.
My advice is to trim down that initial list of yours and throw away the mindset of coming to Lagos to live like a king until you can actually do so, and everything should be fine. There are other decent areas where you can live in lagos that wont cost you an arm and a leg so i suggest you look into that option too.
nail on the head, could you provide such locations and their respective prices.

You said marriage isn't everything,so how do you expect her to cater for her sexual needs without appearing wayward.she needs a solid man in her life.

Romance / Re: Car Or Girlfriend: Which Is More Expensive? by captalex(m): 12:30pm On Apr 27, 2012
Okija_juju: To service my car - 15,000
To service my girlfriend - 50,000 minimum.

To clean my car - (250 - morning fresh)
To make my girlfriends hair - 75,000 Naira for Brazillian hair, 20,000 Naira for fixing it.

I dont need to take my car shopping, to Dubai, for lunch and dinner, fly it to Abuja for the weekend, buy it moet at the club, give it an allowance or take it and its friends to nowhere.

I love my car. . If I could my car, women would be redundant. . . .
Quite true man ,the only this is the car wouldn't bear you children nor listen to your complains.
Cars are very cool sha.they let you fart on them allday, without looking at you in a weird way.they allow you to choose the speed at which you would like them to perform ,unlike some women that would just lie there after 15 minutes of horizontal action.hahahaha.

darlingbas: @op you are not alone, I also don't like soccer for the simple fact that it is possible for a match to end without a winner, they call it draw i think. How can they waste everybody's time without a winner at the end of the match, nothing could be more preposterous, If have my way, i'll make sure the stadium is locked and the players continue to play until a winner emerge, If I happen to pay money to watch a match and it ends in a goalless draw, then the organiser had better refund my money, not even a goal? shocked shocked shocked shocked what the... in fact I will send them an invoice for my time wasted.
Too funny, almost chocked on what I was eating ,I rarely watch football these days I lean more towards the UFC and the NBA.it just seems more interesting to me.

biola44: its impossible, especially when it was lost 2 d wrong guy n this is a major reason why many girls r wayward cos they never get over it, thereby taking out their frustrations on d next guys till they eventually lose it n go haywire, grin

I slightly agree with this,we the new cool dudes are the ones that get the worst of them later they start quoting marilyn munroe saying if we can't handle their worst we don't deserve their best.
Any way I think the memory always sticks with you in particular the ladies, because they are the ones giving it up.

Car Talk / Re: Car Brands/models You Wouldn't Want To Use Ever Again (from Previous Experience) by captalex(m): 8:58pm On Mar 31, 2012
Umunede: Any tokunbo or 2nd hand car. Use tear leather car and enjoy ur life and have rest of mind. I can neva buy anything fairly use, never.

Condition is what makes us guys settle for fairly used vehicles.if Nigerian government had enough sense to drive Peugeot from our shores as they aren't producing vehicles nor massively employing our youths and instead bring in a new company to manufacture/assemble better crars,
Or better still start our own indeginous car production company ,then we wouldn't have this problem of having to deal with rip-off custom guys,or port wahala.
Car Talk / Re: Car Brands/models You Wouldn't Want To Use Ever Again (from Previous Experience) by captalex(m): 8:44pm On Mar 31, 2012
Wallie: Anything VW especially with the 2.0T engine. The engine is too small anyway even with turbo charging and all! Any car with a timing belt instead of timing chain.
By vw do u mean regular golf series or the regular sedan,I do think the golf 5 gti and above seem to perform well.
Programming / Re: Should A Programmer Marry A Programmer? by captalex(m): 8:11pm On Mar 31, 2012
javarules: Please javalove stop living in a fool's paradise. If u marry a programmer and it works, believe me its d exception and not the rule. Well its true most of us are exceptional, but our lives are based on rules. u get my point?

If you are a programmer like myself, then this is ur picture

My room is unkempt 75% of the time
I eat out 75% of the time
I dont sleep most times b4 12am and u wont find me in bed most times after 5am
I hate doing things that I can't automate, eg washing/ironing
Whenever I am coding I go into "offline" mode(i.e I am physically there, my mind is somewhere else)
People who meets me in the office always thinks I am an asshole(I laugh with them one minute, I snub them the other, not that I do that on purpose, I have gone to offliine mode lol)
I think think think, before I do(i think more dn I do)

Now if a husband and a wife have these qualities, picture in your mind what kind of home their home will be, what kind of children they will raise, what kind of relationships they will have with other people etc.

Again I will recommend these books,

Why u act the way u do (Tim Lahaye)
The four(or five i cant remember) languages of love (author? cant remember too)

Lastly, its because u have not met a lady that is a techy, if u have met one or two, they are not always the kind of pple dt u can take out for dinner grin

ciao

Not true bro, have met a couple of hot geekettes even in the office and the moment they begin to speak you don't know whether to pay attention to what they se saying or that plunging neckline on their top.just look around abit they are there and could make you're life much easier by not having to explain why you weren't in bed last night.as most foretell prefer to code at night,it might be because of the quiet that accompanies that.
Programming / Re: Build A JAMB Result Checking Website To Win 150,000 Naira by captalex(m): 7:47pm On Mar 31, 2012
Slyr0x: Personally, I believe JAMB's issue is a "capacity-handling" one. .It goes offline as a result of tooo many people trying to connect at the same time. Just a practical example of what a DOS (Denial Of Service) is.

Buying a server and allocating more resources to it should solve it.

But I might be wrong. .afterall, what do I know? sad

Afterall what do you know?.
sly,we've seen your posts and the damage you've caused.quit being modest and attack this challenge,
you guys are the pros.

Romance / Re: What Do NIGERIAN Girls Really Offer? by captalex(m): 4:47pm On Mar 30, 2012
Dunniqees: Dis is so vry unfrndly
He has a point miss, you can't seem to find many/any decent Nigerian girl to engage with in intelligent conversation, without the slightest hint of them requesting that you take them out to e.g (cinema, palms),the money isn't the problem, because we guys are willing to spend if It's worth it .the problem arises after the movie's finished and you signal to her that you should go back 2 your place for the finale and then she starts acting up.afterall she came on as if she was offering a service and then you try to patronize they take it all wrong as if you're looking down on them. They(Nigerian girls) just need to change that attitude of theirs.
