Personally, I don't give hoot about ACN or any phocking ACN politician, as I have made my political position very clear. I'm with PDP and a card carrying member for that matter. But, what I won't stand is some Ibo bigots like Beaf or whatever the stup!d name he goes by, would be up and doing to make everything about south west look bad. I have carefully watched and peruse his post and I wasn't disaapointed when I saw 98% of his threads is on south west. Gbawe: Very sad you are aligning yourself with this nonsense to the extent of acting like the many mindless and shameless groupies of Beaf who are not independent minde enough to tell him to stop his hideous and crass display of idiocy. Decent folks draw the line somewhere.
They certainly don't celebrate dishonesty that involves mindlesss deception. Go and find out the meaning of omoluabi to understand that you need to tell Beaf to "pipe down" instead of egging him on foolishly like a starry-eyed groupie. PhysicsQED is exemplary here. I don't even know his stance on Aregbesola or the ACN but personal uprightness sees him standing up for the truth instead of joining mischief-makers and sycophants with no honour or decency. Learn from him. Beaf, for his own twisted and fraudulent agenda, is insulting the Yoruba language and deserves no support from anyone other than the usual mindless lowlifes and bigots that have made nairaland distasteful lately. |

Go open threads about your eastern jungle and free southwest. Fool. Beaf: What do you expect from a member of ACN where thugs like Aregbesola reign supreme? He is ownly behaving like his bosses and making wild attempts to put politics in an ethnically bigotted garb.
All hail ACN, Nigeria's newest ethnic group! |

You are more "dafted" than I ealier thought! Do I need your permission to join any political party of my choice? For your info, I was at eagle square and my vote was counted FOR jonathan during the last presidential primaries. I'm a member of PDP as far back as 2001 and still retain my old membership card, even before the changes was made on the new card. You keep shouting about anything south west . . .in the last six months, 98% of your post was made on Yoruba threads. Only a closest Ibo bigot would invest such effort in acking the south west. Beaf: You got jokes!
Dude, you're tired. Your battery is weak and your d.i.ck has fallen. What PDP member bursts their veins to defend ACN's bigotry?
Go try that trick on your kids.

Phocking Ibo bigots living on handouts! Lemme, repeat myself incase, you are too daft to notice. I'm a card carrying member of PDP and very proud of that. I could go on and post my membership card right away. Who cares about phocking ACN? That said. Now, answer this, why is 98% of your post centered around south west? Only an Ibo ding bat would spend soo much energy fighting the south west. Beaf: Lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! The very ACN tactic I spoke about is alive and kicking in you! Attack the ACN and its members accuse you of attacking the SW. It is a tactic of employing bigotry and ethnic blackmail to scare off criticism. When I attack PDP members, what section of the country am I attacking? What a fool!
You people sound so daft. But hey! What is to be expected of bigots, but shallow thoughts marooned by islands of idiocy?
Your approach would bring a joyful tear to Hitlers eyes.

Dude, can't you see that 98% of your threads is about south west? touts! @ all disregard this rabid Ibo bigot called beaf hiding under politicis to attack south west.. Beaf: Naturally, as a bigotted punk it doesn't occur to you that the use of "Omoluabi" to describe members of a political party is both extremely foolish and dangerous. It is such official use by ACN of terms like "Omoluabi" in a manner that is racist and bigotted that encourages slime like your type to equate politics with bigotry and to attempt ethnic blackmail on those who criticise that fascist party.
Hitlers Nazi party started by talking about a mythical Arian race. ACN is doing the same. |

Dude, do they still invent stup!dty of this level to fit into the heads of gutter freaks like you? Aregbesola, the woman slapper must be very proud indeed! When it comes to slapping women, he is well represented. No shaking! But, when it comes to organising defences against attacks in state capitals, he melts into the folds of the nearest wrapper. And don't tell me Aregbesola is not governor of Ekiti, cos the phucker is the one who goes around slapping a gentleman like Fashola and insulting Mimiko who is performing in Ondo. Aregbesola is the thug at the head of you pack of fools, he even has his own wretched set of flags that are unknown to Nigeria that people carry ahead of him at functions, yet he cannot defend the satellite capitals of his "republic" from cattle rearers.

one of the best post I have read in recent times. The only way out for east is to always put forward their political demand before supporting any region. I have lived 15 years in south south, and I can tell you that the average niger deltan will prefer voting aboki than any other regional candidate. Their hatred for Igbos is profound and I wonder where the so-called unity is coming from. The truth of the matter is, some political jobbers like Beaf, asari and co, are all out to confuse the east the more. The just concluded jamboree by asari is an evidence to my position. If truely there is anything like SS/SE unity then let GEJ openly support a candidate from east. Like rochas, since thats was the initial arrangement from the PDP. afam4eva: The funny thing is that the bolded is always one-sided. That's how foolish Igbo leaders have been. I can tell you that a Niger Deltan(minus Igbo speaking areas) will rather vote an aboki than Igbo. We have to start thinking about what is best for Igboland irrespective of whose detriment it may be. We have to stop all these brotherly rubbish. We can always join heads with the ND but it must be for the interest of Igboland. |

Beaf is Ibo. . .check all his post! The real niger deltans CANNEVER trust the Ibo man. I have lived 15 years in niger delta. PhysicsQED: @ Beaf
I've never seen this level of obsession with a "SE"/"SS" alliance from any non-Igbo Nigerians west of the Niger river. Some of the "SS" groups east of the Niger may consider themselves "joined at the hip" politically or culturally with the SE, but I have never heard or read of any non-Igbos west of the Niger river exhibiting such a sentiment. Your tendency to continuously repeat and promote this sentiment is why some people on this forum keep questioning whether or not you are really Isoko. I don't doubt that you are Isoko, but I'm just letting you know why people kept doubting your origin. But then again, some Isoko clans claimed Igbo origin originally, so maybe the sentiment you're expressing is natural and not a deviation from the norm because of the particular makeup of your specific ethnic group. I think in the future maybe you should state that "SS east of the Niger, Igbo west of the Niger, and my own Isoko group" are "joined at the hip" with the SE, in order to not give people the wrong impression.
@ koruji, if somebody at your level of intelligence actually accepts the preposterous argument of this article, that is worrying. If it were somebody dumber I would not even bother responding. What the U.S. does or does not do does not determine the actions a country with a unique situation and history like Nigeria should do.
It's amazing how people's ability to carry out basic reasoning with respect to a very simple situation can be distorted as soon as the topic of oil money comes up. If Akwa Ibom were part of Cameroon, you would not have to worry about offshore oil money accruing to Akwa Ibom state via the coast, because it would not even be relevant. The coastal states are the only reason offshore oil is relevant to Nigeria and this is a very simple thing to understand.
If Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Ondo, and Lagos were part of other countries, you would not have to worry about offshore oil. One's state does not have to touch the coast to support the offshore oil derivations going to those states but the author of this article has woven a web of distortions and red herrings in order to try and obscure a very simple truth.
And if oil had been discovered in the North (because of the Chad Basin), the same Northern intelligentsia that are arguing that offshore oil past a certain completely arbitrary distance does not belong to states would never have bothered to bring up the argument.
The ludicrous argument promoted by certain people online (ex: Ndu_chucks), and by northern pseudo-intelligentsia in real life, about offshore oil is a feint. The nation, and northerners in particular, should be worried about corrupt politicians, poverty, and terrorism in the north. |
Politics › Re: Awo Lecture: Why North Is A Problem To National Unity – Eminent Nigerians by CaptBarbosa: 3:23pm On Mar 10, 2012 |
supereagle: EMINENT Nigerians yesterday lamented the non-sustenance of the leadership qualities of late Premier of the defunct Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, saying that the north would not have constitued itself as the clog in the wheel of development and unity of the country had Awolowo’s policies been sustained.
They spoke in Lagos at the 2012 Obafemi Awolowo Annual Lecture, convened by Obafemi Awolowo Foundation, OAF.
Those who attended the event from across the six geo-political zones included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar, Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, Emir of Zauazau Alhaji Shehu Idris, Obi of Onitsha Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Suru Gambari, King Edmund Daukoru Amyanabo on Nembe, King Dandeson Douglas, Jaja Amyanabo of Opobo, King Mujakpero Orodje of Okpe,
They also included former governors of Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Kaduna States, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Olusegun Osoba,Niyi Adebayo, Gbenga Daniel, and Alhaji Balarebe Musa as well as Prof Ben Nwabueze, Justice Modibo Alfa Belgore, Justice Mohammedu Uwais, Sen Olorunnimbe Mamora, Sen Anthony Adefuye, Chief Ebeneze Babatope, Sen Daisy Danjuma, Sen Jubril Aminu, Alhaji Musilui Smith, Chief Fredrick Fasheun, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Gen. Alani Akinrinade, among others.
Speaking at the forum which was titled; Power Politics or Welfare Politics; Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the History of African Nationalist Political Thought, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, who chaired the occasion said that Nigeria lost the opportunity of having Awolowo as its president, noting that Awolowo was a credible leader.
Musa said, “Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo is the most qualitatively, outstanding, and memorable legend of Nigerian politics and governance since the 1940s. He is the one whose role in politics and governance can still be a reliable guide for any first-time President of Nigeria even though Nigeria ‘lost the opportunity of having Chief Awolowo as its National President.
North in the way of peace —Musa
“He knew how to be relevant both in government and in opposition. When he ceased to be the Premier of the old Western Region, he became a credible and dependable opposition leader. If his policy of free, qualitative, and functional education, for instance, had been implemented and sustained throughout Nigeria, the 40 -year gap in educational development between the northern and the southern parts, which inevitably makes the North stand more in the way of peace and national unity, would have been avoided; and the result of higher educational advancement would not have been almost absent in Nigeria.
“For the 1983 Presidential Election, even the arch opponents of Chief AwoIowo, the semi-feudal and conservative Northern oligarchy or Kaduna Mafia, as represented by the political group of late Shehu Musa Yar’aduwa, preferred him and went into a principled electoral alliance with the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN, the political party he led. However, Nigerians are still hoping for Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s equivalent to emerge.” Musa’s views were re-echoed by other speakers who called for late Awolowo’s style of leadership in the country. Speaking on the topic of the lecture, the Guest Speaker, Prof. Toyin Falola admonished Nigerian leaders to emulate Awolowo’s prescription for the implementation of welfare politics.
His words: “The most imoportant lesson to take away from Awolowo’s work is his prescription for the implementation of wlafare politics. His legacy to Nigeria , and indeed the world, is the proposal of critical conceptions that must be infused into political leadership.
“He argued that leadership must be grounded in ethics, morallity of spending resources more carefully without curruption and with compassion for people. Leadership must respect the rule of law and human rights and cannot be based on violence.”
Absence of transpernt government——Tinubu
Similarly, former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State regrreted that, “Awolowo’s leadership qualities are not visible today in gorvernance. All his priorities like rural intergration, welfare, priority of education are lacking. We are gradually moving away from the people. What is the menaing of governance if there is no welfare, development, transperency and accountability.’’
Earlier, the Executive Director of OBF, Dr. Olatokunbo Dosumu-Awolowo had there was need to build bridges of understanding across the country to ensure unity in Nigeria.
She said, “This gathering says that inspite of current, seeming evidence to the contrary, there is still an overwhelming desire across the land to build bridges of understanding in order to remain brothers and sisters domicled in one united indivisble Nigeria and that the prospects for consensus building on cvritical national issues are not necessarily far-fetched.
“The presence of some of the most eminent royal fathers across Nigeria as well as this sizeable and high calibre audience, drawn from all sectors of the Nigerian society, leaves me virtually speechless, But it speaks eloquently to the fact that 25 years after his transition, Cheif Awolowo’s trailblazing leadership keeps being aknowledged and celebrated.’’
