The $750m funds for solar from world Bank since 2021, govt said it's for rural areas only! How many rural dwellers begged them for light? What's their consumption & how many are ready to pay?

This is another $500m for same energy but they'd rather lord their inefficient cronies - GENCO & DISCO over us to make monopoly money selling darkness rather than allow them die by liberating us with alternative energy.

Why not let the public access directly to pay back with consumption bill?

Good that you did some research...but even the oyinbos inflate projects (most of energy projects costs is on labor involved yet the locals are not paid in $s)
Nigerians can do it. Lekan Salami Stadium was done by local contractors.
You'd notice that project costs are an issue unless we localize those rates with good questions asked.

How much & how long is tractor hiring to level that pitch?
How much is astroturfing or growing grass?

I suspect most of the money went to the pitch installation. Leaving limited money for the stands.

This is speculative, of course...until we see the actual costs breakdown. But that ain't an ordinary grass pitch...it would cost too much to maintain long term

It just crossed my mind that there was some under-the pitch drainage (no, not your drainage you know!), put in. Putting in a drainage system at 5 dollars per square foot, and noting that a soccer field is 81000 square feet...that's about 430000 dollars for drainage system

I also came across maintenance and replacement costs, which I will not include here for now.

Lagos State - registered voters = 7,060,195
APC = 762,134; LP = 312,329 (total votes less than 1.2m)

Oyo State - registered voters = 3,276,675
Winner PDP = 563,756. APC = 256,685 (less than 800,000 voted)

Rivers State (with all the noise) reg voter = 3,537,190
PDP = 302,614. LP = 95,274 (that's less than 400,000 voters)

The point he was making is that local producers needs to be pushed to compete with the imports instead of being protected with high tarrifs = government support the local producers - R&, tech, training, finance etc. (v different from subsidizing the imports) with future view that IF THEY WATCH QUALITY (of products and management) they'd catch up with imported products and later get international pricing with profits by exporting.

One cannot believe everything NNPC says any more. Their data of consumption has always been geared towards how much of subsides they are paying or embezzling.
To say Nigeria is consuming same/more after the price increase from N85/9 is doubtful.
