Be calming down ... |
The comments here creeps...if the labour Head can be so treated So who will fight for better min wage and conditions for the common man now? But it's also sad the level they (NLC) have decended and still yet to realize it - that the public is aware/clear that the NLC is only fighting their personal pockets and interest and no longer the public interest(s)! |
Indeed What successful or outstanding performance did she do exactly as an entrepreneur to get the award? |
No political will power to change at all... |
These politicians are wicked Why is it only after they leave power or government that they find their voice or good reasoning? He was there in his State for 8 years and later as Minister for more years, did he spread this same representation he is talking about now then? |
brain54:You are right. These books seem rated on sales volume |
The 5th Estate is failing in her duties to the public. Why this useless reporting style again. Just propaganda govt info... No mention the exact addresses of the centers in question, procedure or how to participate etc. |

These people don't cease to amaze... When in power and having opportunity to effect change(s) they won't. It is only when the leave office they start trying to tell what the right thing to do is! Is that not what his then agency does to Nigerians? Instead of finishing a proper investigation and getting evidence, they'd arrest, lock up and start harassments and intimidations (sometimes actual torture) to extract evidence! |
Since her mis-yarn on the Unical sex scandal investigations, I doubted if she's fit to be in this high office if not for party politics. Her new outbursts just reinforces I pray she performs and deliver for the women ministry |
Isn't this the same reserves JP Morgan said was only $3.7b in Aug, 2023? https://punchng.com/cbn-faults-jp-morgans-3-7-billion-estimation-of-nigerias-foreign-reserves/ |
Right way to go... If the senior officers are held responsible for the ranks they will curtail them (They will cross check who is being given arms to handle and the use of ammunitions too) rather than covering up for them as was the tradition. |
It comes from China mostly abi? So if govt and phcn finds it impossible to achieve all these years, can't they just allow the Public buy themselves... |
The Tax guy was simply saying the nation thru NNPC can't manage the corruption involved in the refineries! Just like it couldn't with selling crude & refined products. Not financially transparent or profitable. It's a though decision, we would not get near N11t if it's sold (and it's not worth that 2nd-hand value anyway) the money was wasted and embezzled. Let it be given to the privates or even the "illegal" operators with government holding majority shares and you'd see the refineries work... It has nothing to do with age of the refineries (1965, 80 and 88) Lots of older refineries including Shell' Marshall Refinery in California built 1915 are still working. |
Xbobtage:Perception, then interesting Solutions... But the narrative about power rotation (and if I may add restructuring) is wrong. They were never against rotation (or more broadly restructuring) They asked why North and South (instead of 6 geo-political zones)? And how do you rotate between South then? The same South that doesn't agree on history/facts & figures? PLS DON'T BE CARRIED AWAY BY POLITICIANS FIGHTING FOR THEIR POCKETS. I remember the Yoruba South were vocal about GEJ taking over from Yar'adua (Falana and other Civil Rights were) and later supported his 2nd term (OBJ was visible) The last election was when the North started rotation stories but because it suited those behind those cries (I repeat, they are only after their bellies/pocket. It's not from fairness or values or core principles. Fayemi told GEJ recently that they knew the truth but just were playing politics) Let's stop being used by their likes along religious and tribal lines. Let's fight for genuine restructuring. |
tuzle:You need to visit there to understand... that police presence/activities is unlike down South. Before BH issues, very Few check points in the town; and rare outside the cities (like you could move/live and drive without updated document and checks for years) |
You know nothing John Snow... (because p--a nor dey North? it's everywhere in the country o) luskysylver: |
But if every AGO purchase is again charged with VAT, that becomes double taxation to the public. |
nairalanda1:I think we are just taking Reno's data without crosschecking... Ghana's average/mean salary and value should be the indices here not minimum wage . Google - https://bdeex.com/ghana/ would show it's around $320 not $40 In all wages needs be improved and fees raised to sustain the educational system. |
SIRTee15:It's not that Nigerian youths are lazy... Have you exported anything before? Starting from banks giving loans/funds to get the products to export state/stage (rem product quality spec has to be met to get paid); to paying for containers; to paying for haulage/logistics with all the police and bribery on the roads; to getting into the port and goods on board... How many contact do these youths have abroad to offtake their products (they always look for and need big supplies to support regular production process, not just one-off supply will justify setting up a factory rem o)? Do you know our Port managers don't know most of these minerals, what they're being used for or the values? Do you know most of these foreigners have waivers to do what they are doing sef (the guys/companies building railways have made all the money they claim we are owing on the rails with different mined products Amechi allowed them to take out enmass)? How much do you think they can compete with those foreigners that are taking for free (next to nothing) with support from their home countries (with serious financing I mean o - Google China giving their citizens bank funds to go explore Africa especially) SOLUTION IS NOT THE EXPORTING ENTERPRISE. IT IS BANNING ALL THOSE EXPORTS AND PROCESSING LOCALLY, THEN SELLING ONLY FINISHED PRODUCTS TO THE WORLD... |
""Bros Olosho no take your glory okay, yours is even better because me I dey make romance with olosho's as if they are my girl friend..I dey suck olosho's kpekus and dey kiss some olosho's for lips, I dey play gamble and am addicted to naughty things and porn too and I smoke weed and drink wisky but not heavy drinker.. This is really bad reporting... One could hear her saying "one final question..." or am I the only one who heard that? Which implies he already granted her interview request but was drawing it out longer than necessary. Coming out to now say he snubbed is unfair |
These issues should be bigger than individuals. With current mind sets, even if each Statesl is made into separate Countries, we'd still have these bias (on religion & tribe) We need just to 1. Entrench MERITOCRACY - always putting the best of us forward AND THEN HOLDING HIM/HER ACCOUNTABLE to do the maximum good for ALL and not self, family and cronies. 2. We need to stop this mistrust of other tribes/ethnicity apart from ours. OUR REAL ENEMIES MOSTLY DON'T COME OUTSIDE, BUT RATHER THEY ARE THE ONES CLOSEST TO US ALREADY. The person selling out the Yoruba is Yoruba; the enemy of the Igbo is Igbo; just as the North is kept under by her past Rulers that have largely been Northerners. 3. This is the time to start grooming a genuine leader (not 4 years time) that understands stewardship, accountability, with Old & Modern Ideas/Visions for the people of this Nation; he must be able to do projects at "right costs". Not 1km of road/railway for over N1b that we are doing now... |
The years of unfair and compromised Electoral Commissions (FEDECO, NEC, INEC) led us to this level of individual posting of results (real/fake; joke/sarcasm) as a way of protecting our votes, but it shouldn't be... |
leethebee:Why do they all always do/make such claims? Why didn't he do it while in power to do such? |
OsuGanja:Frontpage!!! Nairaland has lost credibility.... Useless Nairaland mods bringing a 2019 thread back to front page in 2023!!! Still to correct/notify others, not everyone is aware what fate awaits them. Please never generalise |
I think you're wrong about your claims. Go and look at IGR and basis for revenue sharing properly Lagos is not your problem. Look at States not contributing but collecting the most! See, Lagos as is, without oil will end up with more Revenue than Delta if each state were to claim their efforts at Revenue generation. It's the vision of their past leaders (quality of such leadership too) that made Lagos and by extension the Western Nigerian Region what it is. See, when Ibadan was the seat of Western Region, it was not monies thrown at it that gave birth to the first Television Station or free education or Cocoa House or Wemabod/Bodija (and other estates that they invested in) or the UCH that Saudi royal family patronized then. In fact, they generated their funds first (from farming) before sending to the FG, BUT USED/INVESTED IT WISELY is the point. They have never been the leeches you're looking for. |

According to democratic tenents indeed... Speaking as if they own that presidency and will always determine what happens! 1. Where did he see that in the lopsided appointments? 2. Where did he see that in educational qualifications criteria (even national passport was made cheaper there o) 3. Where is the said contribution in dollar/Naira terms? 4. Where did he see that when the military was creating states & LGs We will get out of the woods... |
Liars. They won't mention the failed mosquito tests in Africa and Brazil where they introduced them again. They'd only come up with reasons to quarantine or bill us (on travels etc) |
FireBreatherDam:And he's not under any obligation to do so... It's not everything he needs to make public because of others. |
