Do they not have an official website where you can verify actual fees for these services?
If you escalate to senior officers there without receipts, they can deny collecting extra funds from you....Were you given receipts?

These are traders buying and selling (at mutually agreed, probably higher prices than obtainable locally), they only become smugglers if they avoid paying excise duties when levied for such...

The root issue here is the greed in all of us - trying to make too much money from everything even if our country dies in the process.

We should question ourselves on our trading practices that we call business smartness or sense.

This is a country we sell at 3 to10 times our cost price, doubling prices in ways not commensurate with causative factors - fuel or dollar increases (after eradicating lower cash denominations)

We make furniture with our local wood and start calling millions;

It has nothing to do with age of the refineries (1965, 80 and 88) Lots of older refineries including Shell' Marshall Refinery in California built 1915 are still working.

Those of you who voted for the man knew exactly what he was, how are your lives now? As much as we all know they would hate, the APC government should be trying to pacify the igbo people by balancing their appointments, an igbo guy should have been Senate president, massage the egos of these people we need them to believe we are in this together. Disown and fire any member of government who makes any perceived hate speech against igbos or pretty much any other tribe, and possible people who make this their means of staying relevant, I mean tribal jingoist like FFK and Omokri. I honestly doubt that this would ease the tribal tension we have now in the country but its not a bad start. Because I see the igbos are being haunted by all these extreme tribalist statements from government officials, for example you can how the judges at the judges at the PEPT sounded, you can clearly hear the words from apc online trolls right from their mouth, Absolutely shocking. Honestly i think pacifying the igbo people at this point may not work, Too much harm has been done, maybe in 4 years tinubu should step aside and let and igbo person take over, but at that point this country would be far too gone in the wilderness.

Option 3 is dollarized the economy. Dollar should be accepted as a means for payment in all sectors and all forms of trading. That is itself is another decision that comes with its own upper cuts.

I remember the Yoruba South were vocal about GEJ taking over from Yar'adua (Falana and other Civil Rights were) and later supported his 2nd term (OBJ was visible) The last election was when the North started rotation stories but because it suited those behind those cries (I repeat, they are only after their bellies/pocket. It's not from fairness or values or core principles. Fayemi told GEJ recently that they knew the truth but just were playing politics)

that police presence/activities is unlike down South. Before BH issues, very Few check points in the town; and rare outside the cities (like you could move/live and drive without updated document and checks for years)
