Pogba12:Is 10 times of what we are looking at going to fill basket? The middlemen and retailers punish the poor more that the rich/well-offs that they really need to collect from. |
Why are Nigerians not speaking up for this Lady nah. This is pure injustice against this Lady. She only gave a review! |
Allegedly ooo Na everything just wrong for this country - We are bedevilled too with poor reporting and journalism... Reporters don't ask cogent questions. Esp why they wanted to make him more handsome by cutting his hairs. Is it is actually to make him unrecognizable since he had full grown before? |
1. They are not with the number of staffs that can enter the whole of Africa and act directly. It's the same reason our CBN does not do it. 2. Our population data has not been refined to help individuals directly & efficiently. bukatyne: |
kedeojo:Nigerians!! How is she a failure? When she was with IMF/World Bank didn't she get Nigeria debt forgiveness? Now with WTO, but what is Nigeria producing to trade to be blaming her? Oil (when the world is going green) that NNPC cannot account for and has been sold ahead of production? Just to process our agric products, na lie - They asked us to stop putting too much insecticide in beans, we refused till banned. Process minerals before exporting, na lie = we allow raw exports. What is she supposed to do as we refuse to industrialize? |
After all his useless noise and tears all he could resort to was Ecology? Like there's no solution to the insecurity!!? |
It is the public that needs to experience this in an unending way that is in trouble... |
Why waste their time and MONEY in universities if skills acquisition is their final destination? Why not provide credible loans that can enable them practice their craft after learning. The stipends would definitely be too small to set up a proper small scale biz when you consider rents, power, working capital etc |
Why can NERC simply allow individuals but these meters themselves? They tried customers paying to DISCOs, it failed. They tried MAP or appointed suppliers, it failed... Neoteny: |
Don't you think if the woman in question had been metered there will be no issue of energy theft or passing it to others. It remains that all should be provided METERS is the way to avoid theft and other confusion Hakeem66: |
Is this true or possible? Why have they been silent till now? |
For me, no idea is bad/silly. How do they share portfolios (so none is just going to where funds can be looted? Can they work/serve for free - our cost of serving 1 president is already too much, how will having 3 be financially? Serving for free will remove pretenders claiming they want to serve the public but only want to loot the Treasury. Can they show the public their homework? Can they tell what and especially HOW they intend to FUND their initiatives while in power - it is not enough to say I will go to Algeria to ask how they fixed their rail or power systems... We don't have more of our lives to give to their unproven ideas or unpreparedness. A BIG PROBLEM WE OFTEN DO NOT TALK ABOUT IS THE CRIMINALLY OVER-INFLATION OF THE COST OF INFRASTRUCTURES IN NIGERIA - look at costs of our hospitals, schools, roads, airport etc. so even if we have enough revenue (and we don't), we still would not develop. Compare 2 countries setting up an infrastructure investment like Gas provision. One did her projects at 12 times the cost of the other, so by the 3rd year one has started making profit, but the inflated project will take another 8 years to recoup and profit! That's what we did with NLNG, COJA/ABUJA STADIUM etc WE CANNOT BE SUPPLYING ELECTRIC METERS OF JUST $13 AT N81.975.16 to N143,836.10 - IT MAKES THE COMPANY UNPROFITABLE FOR TOO LONG and with consumers inability to bear ever increasing bills, the whole project will collapse. WE CANNOT BE BUILDING ROADS AT N1b/KM and develop. |

The agreements are often kept away from the public If the State is not having any shares in the company, they won't even know what is produced or taken away... Hope they are not just extracting the lithium? What is the provision for local investors? With lessons from Oil communities - they should have been mandated to build hospitals, schools, housing with solar, roads electricity etc but the govt collects the funds to develop the capital... what are the communities around going to benefit as infrastructures apart from just pollution and degradation? Serious African countries have been banning exports of raw minerals |
We don't need $500m worth of meters!!! How many houses yet to have meters dey Nigeria? NERC AND POLICY MAKERS ARE BEHIND THIS PERSISTENT ENERGY WOES. They only need to allow everyone buy their meters from local manufacturers or Alibaba for btw $13-30 But for corruption, they force the N72k and 132k on the public, and insist on providing it. They have collected money from public (to be deducted from usage payments) yet refused to make the great idea work... Later Govt licensed few companies to provide under MAP program, DISCOs refused to support them...just as they initially rejected local manufacturers/assemblers! |
Nigeria has not taken full advantage of her Cabotage Law (leading to job loss & higher than neighbors port charges); it is not fishing the Waters for her citizens (no investments in needed vessels); it still uses foreigners to produce her offshore oil & gas (no equipment, no finance)... What exactly is the celebration here |
Op is partially right When are we going to fight the unions, touts and Police on our roads? When are we going to work on cheaper transportation? The middlemen greed part...is also on us all |
One should have been wary of the verbal fee demands/instructions that sounds like the whims of staffers one is meeting at places like this... Do they not have an official website where you can verify actual fees for these services? If you escalate to senior officers there without receipts, they can deny collecting extra funds from you....Were you given receipts? |
Poor reporting What exactly is being done? |
Like why should Sokoto be having 87% poverty rates despite being the seat of the caliphate! The Elites there keep embezzling all their entitlements from the federal allocations and give them just sycophancy and religion... |
DJInfluence:what a country... rewarding crime but unable to pay minimum wage. these militants should have finished trainings and weaned off tax payers by now after more than 10yrs of the program and setting ups! |
Owon:Yes, 2 yrs ago, still There's nothing of public complaints at their Twitter handle... |
Gbadugbakun:Only sustainable if they invest in the farmers for cheap and regular supplies |
Just creating useless bodies to keep leeching meagre resources population commission staff are virtually idle till next census, why not use them for identity. They are just duplicating efforts at inefficiency. NIMC is not as capable as the Banks (light and Internet availability wise). Tell the folks to go do BVN at the Banks and move NIN also to Banks; in fact pay the public what you want or you're planning to spend on NIMC operations and you'd see queue or compliance. |
This is when NLC/TUC should be out already on their strikes...but you won't see them do that! In the end the public is portrayed as powerless and toothless to the younger generation, that we keep asking to just pray - continuing a crazy circle of public poverty. |
Mandate1:What are they planning to use to power the Freezers? |
This allocation to reps for constituency projects has been going on for more than 20 years, why are we just complaining now especially if we are not going to hold these reps accountable (just as we do not hold our Governors accountable) |
The practical side of mourning involves one receiving so many visitors that one is discouraged from seeing any off (so none would be offended) or getting up and down to salute all, so as not to break down physically. How many people in attendance do you expect her to jump up and kneel down or explain anything to as she would have been doing since the day it happened and still be ready for the final interment? |
Very poor reporting. No mention of the acreage cultivated, what is being expected as result, the assistance from government if any, how other farmers can join or participate etc |
Why do our politicians always only know the solution or panacea to Nigeria's problem(s) once they are out of office, but never when they are in office? Their talk is ever cheap (they can use talk/mouth to give light in 6 months, feed youths cassava and agbado, but even Agbadorian has not planted a single seedling to feed the youth in almost a year as promised) Don't trust or believe any of them. We need to raise new leaders that can think out of the box |
Confusing News Confusing Header/Title... Why use the word smuggling? These are traders buying and selling (at mutually agreed, probably higher prices than obtainable locally), they only become smugglers if they avoid paying excise duties when levied for such... The root issue here is the greed in all of us - trying to make too much money from everything even if our country dies in the process. We should question ourselves on our trading practices that we call business smartness or sense. This is a country we sell at 3 to10 times our cost price, doubling prices in ways not commensurate with causative factors - fuel or dollar increases (after eradicating lower cash denominations) We produce shoes locally but want to sell at American designer rates; We sew clothes locally but want to sell at Gucci's price; We make furniture with our local wood and start calling millions; yet turn around to blame the government for everything! |
