I finally got feedback from british council concerning my remark request for my IELTS academic writing test. My score increased from band 6 to 7. The Nigerian accessors at IELTS british council need to do better. My EOR was needlessly delayed for almost a month and released on the 4th of January, since 7th December, 2022, even after multiple emails and phone calls complaining about the delay. The sad part is that the attached letter from the feedback was backdated to 16th December, 2022. Making it seem like they remarked my tests and sent me the letter on 16th December, 2022. Now I have missed several priority schools application deadlines, due to their lacklustre attitude.

A car fell into a huge sinkhole in Essex, England following Storm Ciara, which erupted in Europe earlier in the last week.


Six homes on Hatch Road, Brentwood, where the car fell into the sinkhole, were evacuated after the Toyota Prius became stuck in the sinkhole in the early hours of Monday morning.

The fire service called to the scene said they received reports of a sewer partly collapsing but they're unaware of the cause of the sinkhole.

A resident living next to the scene, Gordon Humphrey, narrated that his wife heard a loud noise, then came out and saw the trapped car.

He said,

"You could hear the water bubbling, see the tail lights and there was a smell of gas.
The car was trapped inside the sinkhole"

Reports are yet to confirm if the car was in motion when the incident happened or whether someone was inside.

A spokesperson for Anglian Water said,

"We are working with other utilities [water and gas] plus the local police to assess if any of our pipes have been damaged."

Another resident, Mr. Humphrey stated he saw someone sitting in front of the car "trying to find something”, with the water almost at the level of the seats and believes he wasn't the driver.

Stephanie Lloyd, a nearby resident told local news she was woken up around 2;00 GMT by flashlights from emergency vehicles.

She said,

"at first, all we could see was the back of that car so it look like it had been cut in half before being told by a firefighter it was a sinkhole."

A robber was crushed to death by a car while trying to steal its catalytic converter in the middle of the night.

Gary Gray, a mechanic in London, has gone under a Vauxhall Astra car after holding it up with a car jack. But the jack came loose and the car forcefully came down, suffocating him, and leaving him with no chance of survival.

The assistant manager of JB Autos, the repair garage Gary Gray (name of the intruder) went to steal from, arrived at work the following morning and was appalled to see a man's legs poking out underneath a car parked at the company's compound located at Marshgate Industrial Estate.

Gray has his hands covered in oil and dirt, while his torch was left on. Also in the scene, a cutting tool was still stuck in the car's exhaust and a bag was seen filled with spanners, a watch, a bottle of methadone and cooking foil.

An employee, Vilfredo Fernandes, said the compound was empty when he locked up for the day.

In his written statement, Fernandes narrated,

''I’ve worked there for four years and part of my day-to-day work is opening and closing the premises. I finished work on the 14th at the usual time, around 6pm. Prior to finishing, I locked up the compounds, making sure that there were no customers around.

The next day, I arrived around 8am and I could see a pair of legs on the floor sticking out from under a car which had a black car-jack near the front wheel.

I called my boss, told him what happened, and he told me to call an ambulance.''

Paramedics who were called to the scene pronounced Gray dead on the spot. The police stated that he was trying to steal the car's catalytic converter which is thought to be worth £60 (N28,000) when resold.

A catalytic converter is a pollution device that's built under a car. Naijauto reports that thieves go after them because it has a precious metal (platinum) inside it which is sold to scrap yards for some cash.


The manager of the repair garage, James Brown told local media this was not the sole theft that the garage had ever had to face:

''There is a six-to-eight feet-high fence around each compound and I keep scrap cars for spare parts inside the second.

Over the years I have had a number of thefts, so I keep the vehicles unlocked to stop people damaging them and smashing the windows before they realise there’s nothing valuable inside them.

From his statement, one could see why the car moved while Gray was under it.

The police officer, Sgt Scott Anger, investigating Gray's death said,

''He was in the process of stealing a catalytic converter but his chest had been compressed. He had gained entry illegally overnight.

This was not an industrial accident and was filed as a non-suspicious sudden death.

The car jack had been dislodged. He had placed a wooden panel under him to prevent him lying on the cold ground. This raised his body closer to the car, which was left in neutral and would have rolled off the car jack because it was not secure.''

The pathologist who examined his corpse said Gray had no noticeable external injuries, agreeing on the same cause announced by the police. In the pathologist's investigation, it disclosed Gary's left rib was fractured from the incident.

A woman got more than she bargained for when she took to Facebook to seek help after her car broke down. It turned out a 'good Samaritan' on Facebook agreed to help but on one condition: that she sends him a picture of her in bra in exchange for his good deed.

Bethany Pywell and her friend were about driving out of a retail park in King's Lynn Norfolk in England on Friday night when her car wouldn't start. The two women sought for a means to get out of the situation by asking passersby for help as it was already 9.pm, and they needed to get back home to their children.

Bethany, 25, turned to Facebook for help and was relieved when one of her male friends there offered to assist her.

But her conversation with the man took to a ludicrous turn when he demanded a picture of Bethany in her bra as repayment for the favor.

The man, known only as Luke, asked her where she was and added,

"What's in it for me Bleep?"

Bethany who was shocked by the message replied,

"Seriously dude, we’ve both got kids we wanna get home to and we're freezing! Please just help us out."

In response, Luke said,

"Yeah I will but send me a pic of you in your bra and I can be there in 5 mins."

In a bid to make him come down to help them, the mother of one said she'll send it when she gets home. But Luke would have none of that rather he asked for the picture three more times.

Bethany had her self-respect to maintain and didn't take him up on his offer.

A car was stolen in the UK by thieves who used a wireless signal emitting from the key fob to gain access to it.


The car, a grey BMW 640D Sport, was stolen from where it was parked outside the house, on Newton Road, Cloughoge, in the early hours of Thursday.

Naijauto learned the car robbers didn't break into the car, nor stole the keys where the owner had kept it inside the house.

The police detective investigating the robbery, Constable Middleton said,

"With advances in technology, thieves are now able to gain access to your car by redirecting the wireless signal from your key fob.
Owners should take the same precautions they do with home security.
Make use of your garage, if you have one; or use physical car locks such as steering column locks and chains"


With the advance in technology, automakers are now installing high-tech features to make cars more accessible. Car thieves are also stepping up their game. They now use sophisticated instruments & techniques to gain access to modern cars. The keyless entry system has now become a gateway for car robbers.


These thieves use a wireless transmitter and bring it closer to a house or even the handbag of a car owner whose car is being targeted. Once closer, they are able to capture the signal emitted from the key fob and relay it to the vehicle.

We can't be sure to say car robbers in Nigeria have not also gone advanced.

However, if you use the keyless fob to access your car, you can avoid this situation by storing your keys in a secure location.

Jaguar Land Rover has found a way to ease off the negative effects of sitting down in a car for too long by introducing a shape-shifting seat (also called morphable technology) which tricks drivers and passengers into thinking they are walking when in reality, they're sitting down in the car.


The UK automaker fitted the foam of the high-tech seat with actuators to make it constantly be in motion.

As gathered by Naijauto , each seat can be adjusted to suit an individual's needs and body type.

Chief Medical Officer of JLR, Dr. Steve Iley, stated that the rationale for the morphable seat is 1.4 billion people across the globe who spend more time sitting down than walking around and this can cause muscle shortening in the hips, legs, and gluteals, which will, in turn, lead to back pain.

Motorists should be careful of what they throw at people while driving on the road.

A motorcyclist in Leicestershire UK has been blinded in one eye after a driver in an oncoming car threw an egg at his face.

The 31-year-old bike rider was traveling along Newton lane, in Winston around 11.15 pm last Friday when the incident happened.
Leicestershire police said the motorcyclist's helmet visor was up when the egg came hitting him on his face.

Naijauto gathered he was taken from the scene to the hospital where emergency surgery was carried out but the surgeons couldn't save his sight.

The statement released by the Leicestershire police said,

"I appreciate [egg throwing] is not something you would necessarily think to report to the police, but this incident where this victim has lost his sight shows that it can be very serious.
We need to find the car and the people responsible as soon as possible."

Shortly after the incident happened, the police got another report of eggs being thrown from a moving car in Welland park road.

As at the time of this report, the driver who threw the egg at the motorcyclist has been arrested.

The BMW car Tupac was shot in has been put up for sale for $1.75 million (₦634 million).


The American hip hop artist was a passenger in the BMW 750Li belonging to Suge Knight on September 7, 1996 when he was shot in a drive-by in Las Vegas.

The present owner of the car has painstakingly restored it while leaving the dent in the car caused by a bullet. Naijauto believes it is to remind folks of the history attached to the car.

The drive-by shooting happened after Tupac and Suge left the venue of a boxing match they had attended.


Eyewitnesses told local media that they saw a white Cadillac halt beside the black BMW and the occupant opened up fire on the duo.

Tupac,25, was shot four times with a .40 caliber rounds in the arm, the thigh and the chest. The wounds were life-threatening and the American rapper couldn't get it through the sixth day in the hospital. Suge, on his part, didn't sustain any major injury.

Many theories were made surrounding the notorious murder, however, its mystery remains to be uncracked.


Whoever gets to buy the car will be given documents to prove its grisly history, including a certificate that shows the car was first bought by Death Row Records which was founded by the other occupant, Suge Knight, who is serving his sentence for manslaughter.

The car has passed through many owners since the incident but its recent owner completely restored it. The black BMW still has its original 5.4 L engine, black leather cabin, 5-speed automatic gearbox, with the odometer reading 121,043 miles.


The famous BMW 750Li Tupac was shot in is now being put up for sale by a dealer in the same city where the heart-wrenching incident took place. Interested buyers are expected to pay a refundable deposit of $20,000(₦7 million) before making an offer.

The fine culminated as a result of pending taxes, interest and the penalty.

Ranjit Desai, the owner of the Porsche worth Rs 2 crore (₦102 million) paid the hefty penalty to Ahmedabad Regional Transport Office and went back to the traffic police with the receipt and got his Porsche back.

A picture of the RTO receipt was shared by Ahmedabad Traffic West Police on its Twitter handle. There, they claimed the RS 27.68 lakh paid was the highest fine ever levied in India.

The tweet said,

"RTO slaps a fine of total ₹27.68 Lakh on Porsche Car which was detained during a routine check by Ahmedabad Traffic West Police for not having required documents. One of the highest fine amount levied in the country ever"


Mr. M B Virja, the police sub-inspector who detained the Porsche said the driver didn't present any valid document.

He said,

"This car was imported in 2017. Though the owner had initially registered the vehicle in Haryana, the number plates were missing when the car was impounded. Since the car is now in Gujarat, the RTO calculated the life time tax, interest on unpaid tax and penalty at ₹27.68 lakh. The owner took back his car on Tuesday after showing us the receipt"

He added that,

"We had therefore detained the car and issued an RTO memo under the Motor Vehicles Act. This means that he has to deposit the penalty with the RTO and come to us with a receipt to get back the vehicle"

Naijauto gathered that the initial fine imposed was Rs 9.8 lakh (₦5 million) but when Desai went to pay, the RTO officer dug up old records and slapped Rs 27.68 lakh fine on him.

The receipt showed the Porsche owner paid Rs 16 lakh(₦8 million) as motor vehicle tax, Rs 7.68 lakh(₦4 million) as interest on the unpaid tax, then Rs 4 lakh(₦2 million) as a penalty.

Mercedes-Benz is recalling about 750,000 cars over defective panoramic sunroofs.

The German automaker disclosed that the sunroofs of the affected models could possibly separate from their frames and fly off while driving, thereby causing road accidents.


The cars affected by the defect are Mercedes-Benz sedans produced from 2001-2011.

They include:

2001-2007 Mercedes-Benz C-class
2003-2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK-class
2007-2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS-class
2003-2009 Mercedes-Benz E-class


The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the glue used to hold glass panels to the sliding frame can deteriorate chemically resulting in the sunroof pulling off.

Naijauto learned Mercedes received multiple complaints from customers of their sunroof detaching from the frame and began investigations into the issue in December 2017.

Mercedes Benz will contact customers whose vehicles were affected on or after February 14, 2020, for inspection of the sunroof and replacement, free of charge.

Whoever goes around driving a car with just two tyres?

A drunken driver was spotted by the UK police on patrol driving a car with the two front tyres missing on New Year Day.

The traffic police in Greater Manchester said the motorist, whose identity wasn't disclosed, was ''struggling to drive “the car, so he pulled over on the expressway outside Bury in the United Kingdom.

On closer look, the police discovered that the two tyres have already been torn off the rims, with the rims completely worn out.

A breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver, which he failed. Naijauto gathered his blood alcohol content (BAC) was five times more than the legal limit.
The police arrested the driver on the spot.

It has become a routine for the UK traffic police to catch motorists who are defaulters to traffic rules. In December, a drunken motorist driving with a front tyre missing was arrested by the South Yorkshire police.

A 5-feet snake has been rescued after getting stuck inside a car's gear stick.

The pet corn snake named Allan was traveling to Oldham for the Christmas holidays with its owner, Ellie Bond when it got out of its vivarium (container for keeping animals under semi-natural conditions).


On noticing that the snake wasn't in the enclosure, Bond and her partner, Lewis Newton, anxiously searched the car but couldn't find Allan. Bond thought her pet snake has fallen off the car and on to the highway.

The couple began to pull out the car seats in search of the missing snake. Then Newton removed the casing around the gear stick and saw missing the snake.

25-year-old Ellie Bond, who was working in Oakwood infant school in Derby as a supply teacher said,

"He is 5ft long and quite chunky so he was properly trapped, and I was worried he would hurt himself trying to get free. We tried using butter to help lubricate the area but he still couldn’t move.
It was also snowing so was very cold for him – which is also very dangerous for a snake – so I was scared he would die if we could not release him quickly as he had been there for a few hours."

To worsen the situation, the pet snake, was said to have feasted on a large meal before they hit the road. So, getting him out of the car was going to be challenging.

Naijauto learned an RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) inspector was called to the scene. After looking at the situation, rescue service and Greater Manchester firefighters were then called to help rescue the snake.


The RSPCA inspector, Angela Paxton-Taylor had to hold Allan-the pet snake with a wet towel in case the gear stick was hot, so it doesn't harm the snake. The firefighters, on the other hand, cut a small piece of metal off to enable the snake to be freed.

According to Angela,

"Along with the fire crews we were able to safely release him and he appeared unharmed – a few scales were missing and he was very cold but we were able to warm him up and he is doing well.
It was awkward as there was me and five firefighters in a Citroen C1 working hard to free Allan but it worked. The fire service who worked brilliantly as a team and were determined and really considerate for the wellbeing of Alan."

Bond told local media that her pet snake is now doing fine after the ordeal.

Three high school students were killed in an auto crash on Christmas day in Alabama, USA. The car was said to have slipped off the road and forcibly hit a big oak tree.

Reports from the Geneva Police Department says the teens were between the ages of 16 and 17, and schooling at Geneva High School. Their names were Cassidy Dunn, Addyson Martin, and Emilee Fain.

Naijauto gathered the three young girls were occupying the front seat. Two other passengers sitting in the back seat got to survive the accident.

One of the victims that survived sustained minor bruises and bumps. The other was airlifted to a hospital in Birmingham named Children's of Alabama. And according to reports, her condition has been stabilized.

Geneva Police chief investigator, Lt, Micheal McDuffie, said,

"It's a real tragedy. The city is hurting right now for sure."

He told local media the high school teens were close friends and that they spent and celebrated Christmas with each other.

He said,

"They had just left one house and were going to another one's home.
Just being friends out on Christmas day."

The girls were mourned by the local residents at First Baptist Church.

Ron Snell, Geneva City School Board President said,

"Those girls touched a lot of lives, and that's why you see the real hurt and the coming together of young and old."

In the US, car crashes have been reported to be the main causes of teen death. Reports gathered from the World Health Organization (WHO) says teens between 10-19 years have been killed in car crash across the globe.
