@Imhotep Come on,we've been through this particular scripture already, remember?I told you that if you're using this scripture, then it means any born-again pastor having the Holy Spirit within him can forgive sins, and not priests only.Even a nun who has the Holy Spirit can forgive sins. What limits the apostolic power to priests only? And for the love of moses, why shouldn't i simply and quietly go to God and confess directly to Him as he has commanded in His word?Which was my question in the first place. |
Religion / Re: Catholics And Confession by Cassiel(f): 10:09pm On Mar 07, 2008 |
@Imhotep No,i waz expecting a catholic to prove confession from the scriptures beyond reasonable doubt.I wanted something that would tell me,''Yes Cassiel, its accurate. You should confess only to a priest on saturdays''. And i did not get that. |

imhotep:What do protestants have to do with my question when i'm lookin for a catholic answer? |

@Imhotep And your point is? I'm talking catholic here.Hello? |

@poster Uh,dude,is she the same one that's 5 years older than you?If its she,then i ain't too surprised at your people's request |
Religion / Re: Catholics And Confession by Cassiel(f): 9:38pm On Mar 07, 2008 |
@Imhotep No dearie, its not.I had my answer a long time ago,i just wanted to see if any catholic could disprove it,that's all.And none could. So my previous conviction is even stronger. |
Religion / Re: Catholics And Confession by Cassiel(f): 6:35pm On Mar 07, 2008 |
@JeSoul Wow.You and Imhotep sure ran with this, lol . And i can see that now Imhotep isn't as vehement and sure as he was when this started.Nice work, girl.I have my answer-its not necessary to confess my sins to a priest when i can go directly to God. I believe no catholic can disprove that statement since so far,no one has. @Imhotep I admire the way you defended your denomination to the best of your ability.I happen to belong to the catholic circle and i see no reason for the confession thingy because i study my bible thoroughly and i've seen what God says about confessing sins. That's why i wanted an explanation as to why catholics deem it necessary.I've got a whole lot more personal issues with the catholic faith, but i guess i'd better not bring any more up before i'm practically crucified on this forum .Perhaps catholicism is just not for me.God bless |

@Chac Nah.I think Chelsea's still smarting from the loss to Spurs. They won't let another English team whoop their asses so soon.Even if Barnsley succeed in kicking their blue butts,it will be an uphill task, definitely.Almost everybody @ Chelsea's in top form now.And their last UCL game, you saw how effective the Lampard/Ballack combo was.So Barnsley do have their work cut out for 'em. As for Fergie,i simply cannot imagine a United without him.Nobody could ever be SAF,that's for sure. The replacement's sure gonna be a real headache. |

THREE MORE YEARS? Ferguson: To step down in 2011? Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that that he may step down in three years' time. By then Britain's most decorated boss will have spent 25 years at the helm at Old Trafford. 'I'm getting beyond the future now,' he said. 'I still have a lot of passion. I'm still happy. But I'm 66 now - maybe three years more, then I'll finish.' |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Cassiel(f): 1:11pm On Mar 07, 2008 |
Chelsea's good,but they ain't impenetrable.If Spurs could nail 'em,why can't we?lol |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Cassiel(f): 12:30pm On Mar 07, 2008 |
Personally i'm not too impressed with Kusczak's goalkeeping skills. If Foster's hand-eye coordination are in top form, then no objection to him taking over As for Portsmouth, they'll be coming to OT aiming for a win.Distin said they can't come to OT just hoping to avoid defeat;they have to come with winning in mind.So i'm sure they're going to come with guns blazing. But i'm confident Fergie and his boys are so ready to thrash 'em.With a Champions League quarter-final berth booked, and Arsenal’s Premier League lead down to one point, United are in very high spirits over the FA cup.A treble is within touching distance here United just cannot afford to lose,so Portsmouth had better watch out.But it will be an intense match tho, that i'm sure off.Won't be an easy victory. |
Romance / Re: I Am In Love With A Lady Who Is 5 Years Older Than Me by Cassiel(f): 2:15am On Mar 07, 2008 |
See,its a psychological thing. Some women don't send being with a younger man. Some women will mind because it'll make them feel old.For the love of moses, everytime its his birthday she remembers that when he waz a day old baby she waz already helping mama in the kitchen.Kinda depressing, don't you think?Considering the fact that not all women want to be reminded of their actual ages. That's why i say its a thing of the mind |
Romance / Re: I Am In Love With A Lady Who Is 5 Years Older Than Me by Cassiel(f): 2:01am On Mar 07, 2008 |
@poster Honestly,it depends on the woman.5 years is something o.Are you sure she can cope without feeling old or treating you like her younger bro?Best you find out how she really feels about it |

PLC:Oga PLC,if you are a catholic, you are really not being a good ambassador. If you had followed this thread carefully, you would have seen that all i did was ask for a simple explanation on an issue i wasn't clear on.And i still havn't gotten that explanation. So that now makes me a fool? Matthew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother [ Some manuscripts-brother without cause] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, [ An Aramaic term of contempt] ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. [b]But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. May God help your soul. |

@Chac I love Fernando Torres . That guy's got an astonishing, lethal touch in front of goal, an inherent awareness of the goalscorer's art and raw pace and power. Almost as good as Ronaldo, though 'almost' doesn't count Hope he retains his magic cos they're gonna need it on Tuesday against Inter @ the San Siro. As for Adebayor, even if by some weird fluke he gets the silver boot,he is way below Torres' class.Everybody knows that @super blue omo Hey super blue, howzit going?Looking for night nurses ? I wouldn't be surprised. You're @ the wrong place dearie, asking the wrong person.Go ask your fellow gaynners. They should know better |

Religion / Re: Catholics And Confession by Cassiel(f): 11:52pm On Mar 05, 2008 |
Wow.Imhotep and JeSoul, you guys have taken this to another level. Not that i blame you,JeSoul.Wholly Imhotep's fault I just wanted to understand why as a catholic one has to go to confession only on saturdays to confess to a priest, and understand why the catholic church doesn't encourage its members to go directly to God on their own, confess their sins and ask for forgiveness, which is what the bible teaches, and what God himself wants.Till now Imhotep, i still don't understand why because nobody has been able to give a clear, comprehensive and concise explanation.Instead you're talking about historical, canonical, symbolic and rational ways of studying the bible.Anyway,if any of your ways can explain my question,no wahala. But so far,i ain't seen nothing. What is the point of confessing to a priest when God says i should come directly to Him? |

Chelsea's hot tonight.Gonna be a walk in the park for them.Never thought Lampard and Ballack could successfully hold the midfield simultaneously though. And they've proven they can by pocketing a goal each.Nice going,Avram Grant.Olympiacos's fans are more into the game than the players English football is well in the limelight this year. |

@super blue so could you please quit the ''even Seun cannot talk to me like that'' act? and for your limited info, every human being is a complex person. as for the way you blaspheme about with the name of Jesus, only God can forgive you. dunno why you take everything i tell you so personally.haba! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Cassiel(f): 2:05am On Mar 05, 2008 |
Mc Omo:Thank God you're a major part of the drivel Since you're so full of your importance to Seun and whoever else, why do you bring yourself down to the level where the bullshit you dish out can be dished out right back at you?If you can't take the dissing you also give out like a man, then just stay quiet,ok?Its all about soccer, not personal importance. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Cassiel(f): 1:54am On Mar 05, 2008 |
@super blue omo super blue,i'm not referring to any win of you gaynners(guess your mental faculties are shutting down for the night, thats why you didn't understand what i posted),i'm only referring to this one.But this game is over now.I'v been on it for over 3 hours and its become boring. Now i'm concentrating on how long it'll take for the true erratic nature of your team to show itself And,why did u decide to come out when everybody else has left the thread? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Cassiel(f): 1:46am On Mar 05, 2008 |
Mc Omo super blue,we all know your team is highly erratic.so let's just watch and see how long(or how short) they maintain this sudden spark,k?now,as j-girl wld say, carry your negative energy outta here and back to your thread. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Cassiel(f): 1:30am On Mar 05, 2008 |
@Mc Omo You're the shameless one dude, jubilating over an easy win.As for seeking ur attention, gimme a break.Who mentioned my name first in his post?Better go back to whoever's bed you decided to crawl out from If you think this was ACM's 'game of their lives', then you badly need some re-schooling on your soccer knowledge. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Cassiel(f): 1:22am On Mar 05, 2008 |
@Mc Omo super blue, for where u bin dey now?sha congrats on your weak victory .let's hope your erratic boys can handle stronger teams than the ACM of today |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Cassiel(f): 12:29am On Mar 05, 2008 |
lai-lai:Thank you,Mr lai-lai . At least you recognize the fact that ACM wazn't in top form.Gaynners here still don't want to admit that their victory waz easy.Let's keep watching how the UCL drama unfolds @eldee I admire you for being a reasonable and rational person. Why is it that its only when Arsenal have to win that they play like they're all that?A good team plays like the best in the bizniz, whether they have to or not! Arsenal don't do that. That's why the win today waz easy. They had to win,and they played against a tired team.Thats not a sound victory in my book. |
