Even the best keepers have their off-days,you know that.So don't get too confident just yet.Reina doesn't always keep a clean sheet.There waz a time Peter Cech waz the rave.Now nobody fears him anymore.
Gerrard too has his days when he just keeps shooting wide.Not hoping for that to happen,but it does happen.As for Alonso,the sweet sweet dude grin grin, perhaps he can leave his girlfriend and his new baby now,but i doubt his mind will be 100 percent on the game,lol. And how long will it take Lucas to 'mature'?Y'all Scousers do need to buckle way up real soon if you want to keep forging ahead,cos United and Arsenal look like they will tear y'all apart.Chelsea too. grin

@bgees
Sorry about the insults then grin We red devils tend to get the heat of hell on when somebody disses our club without any real basis.Waz only imagining a scenario,and tocdee jumped on my back. huh grin
But really,United is still United without Ronaldo.Someone said he's our 'Torres'.That person's probably trying to say they're both world-class quality strikers.But for anybody to say United need Ronaldo the way Liverpool currently need Torres,that's an error.And the fact is,Torres doesn't need Liverpool.If he is let go tonight,trust me,all the top clubs in Europe will be begging him to come to them.
My point is,Liverpool need a lot of work right now.See the way Inter kept breaking through y'all's defence.They could've won,save for the fact that they lacked quality strikers.Liverpool lacked that drive and skill that makes winners.Torres is currently supplying that for the team.He and Gerrard.That's why i said Liverpool need Torres at this point in time.Forget what happened seasons ago.That's history.Right now,y'all need Fernando.Truth.
@Jairzinho
You're the juvenile delinquent.I'm trying to respect bgees' request here,so watch yourself. tongue
@tocdee
Don't insult my intelligence by saying ''if you want to mock a team don't hide behind supporting it''. If you've ever wandered into the United thread,you will see i don't beat about the bush mocking and dissing any friggin' club i please.I outrightly diss you to the pits of hell and back grin.And if i'm supporting a club,i do that just as straightforwardly. I actually waz supporting Liverpool that night.That's partly the reason i pointed out your weak points.Is that so bad?Face it,your team isn't perfect,ok?I don't like fans that aren't realistic.So kindly get off my case,because you might get offended if i get on yours.

grin grin That would be nice to see
But now,beefs aside,their team really need a lot of work.Or maybe not a lot of work.I just don't know,but something's not right with that team and i'm not sure what is it.They're skilled.They've got youthful energy.But they still keep flopping.Perhaps its mental,lol.That's why i don't think they're gonna get as far as the finale this year.
Even their fans know that.That's why most of 'em are worried. grin grin
SportsRe: Champions League Draw; Who Do You Want? by Cassiel(f): 9:16pm On Mar 13, 2008
Grumpy Grant?lol grin grin grin Chelsea just might lick Liverpool's butt.Anelka,Lampard and co will sure keep y'all Scousers busy,so busy that even Torres might end up joining the defenders grin
My point,Liverpool still has a lot of work to do midfield and defensive.I'm not too impressed with the way Inter kept breaking through the defence during that match.

@Jackal

i think playing the EPL teams apart from Liverpool will mean we are through the semis. I'm not saying we can't beat Liverpool but playing such a compact team in a cup competition will be tough for our players.
Bring them in the semis or the finals i can assure you of a sound victory,but at this juncture, Arsenal and Chelsea will do.
Why the worry over Liverpool?I don't think they're that compact.Its Torres and Gerrard that are the main threats,but then,they don't do all the work.Inter could have finished them yesterday,they just lacked good finishers.I think we can beat them.
Anyway,its probable we're not meeting them in the quarter-finals. Possibly Roma again.I think we'll beat 'em,but not easily.
SportsRe: Champions League Draw; Who Do You Want? by Cassiel(f): 8:41pm On Mar 13, 2008
@danity
Henry meeting his team will be real niceeeee grin He knows all of their weaknesses,and i hope hez not too nice to indulge in exploiting 'em wink This is the UCL afterall,partly the reason he left 'em gunners. And i so hope Jens Lame-man is the one to head the gunner's goal post grin
As for Roma,thrashing 'em shouldn't be a problem,tho i don't expect an easy victory.
Liverpool ought to silence Schalke.
As for Chelsea,hmmmm undecided Those guys are becoming as erratic as arsenal these days.

Edwin eyes more Euro glory

Edwin van der Sar may be a Champions League veteran but his appetite for European success has not diminished.

It is 13 years since the goalkeeper won the competition with Ajax and he is determined to claim another winner’s medal with United before hanging up his boots.

The 37-year-old is one of five members of the current squad to have experienced Champions League glory – Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Wes Brown were all part of the Reds’ Treble-winning squad in 1999.

“Everybody wants to win it and we’ll be doing our very best to claim another medal,” Van der Sar told MUTV.

“It’s a long time since I won it and it’s the same for the boys who played in 1999, so everyone’s determined to repeat it.”

Does this mean he's back??

there is no man that does not make mistakes and realise them later.

Only an OLD FOOL like Fergie will stick to his stupid comments like a retarded stubborn goat. tongue grin

AW doesn't say he didn't think before speaking, he just was maybe emotional. . .and wisely retracts/qualifies his statements when necessary. wink
Wow,surprised to see you responded to my joke.Guess you can't take one either grin grin grin
Comments aren't mistakes,dearie.You either know what you're saying or you don't.Its that simple.AW has no idea what he's talking about most of the time.He just says whatever flies into his stingy head.I told you already,Fergie is an honorable,confident man that sticks to his comments,doesn't deny his words,and accepts retributions,if any.I prefer that to a highly unstable,emotional grin ,and 'run at the sight of trouble' manager like Arsene. Good to know a gaynner noticed that AW says things like a monkey high on tequila - without thinking,and without knowing the meaning of whatever it is he says.Hence the retractions tongue grin Fergie,on the other hand,is brave and confident enough to stand by his words.No matter what he says,no matter how bad it is,he doesn't wake up the next morning to say,''um,i wasn't thinking clearly when i made that comment yesterday.it was made in the heat of the moment''. Guess Arsene's just too lily-livered to face retributions,if any grin

I hope your fingers get twisted on your keyboard for typing that silly statement tongue. The ref and his assistants were at fault,whether it was deliberate or not.And every sensible person knows that.Even if they were arguably clear on the penalty,they were unarguably at fault on the red card.And if Fergie and Queiroz got mad because of that and gave pieces of their minds to the referees,it doesn't warrant a ban.If you had said a fine,i would've said you were being reasonable.But dude,banned for 4 games?Jeez,such hatred and bitterness toward Fergie and Queiroz tongue. ??
You're a dumb ass numbskull.Is it because i came over to support your team last night when you were busy being a plastic fan that you think you can open your horror of a mouth and say ''clearly u aren't too bright''? You're a moronic cow.For your info,Man United can do very well without Ronaldo on the pitch.If you're bright,you would know that Rooney,Tevez,Giggs,Nani and a host of others are also goal scorers.And only a mentally troubled person would try to imagine Princess Diana with a beard huh tongue Liverpool without Torres is just not the same,and if you were a true fan you would know that.Look at your recent form in the EPL and have a re-think.Gerrard messes up sometimes.Crouch doesn't always perform.Who else have you guys got besides Torres and Gerrard?Who has been responsible for nearly all of you guys' goals for a while now if not Torres?So shut your stupid trap and imagine with me when i tell you to imagine what the game would've been like without Torres.And after imagining(if you've got any imagination at all),quiver in your smelly boots.Face it,Liverpool need Torres.Ain't my fault if you're too cowardly to accept it. Gosh,i never knew Liverpool's got its share of stupid,dumb fans. tongue tongue

There's no crime in a guy being stressed and so,angry.But there's something called 'transfer of aggression' that absolutely should be avoided.If she's not the cause of your stress from work,why take it out on her?She's your girlfriend,she should be the one listening to you tell her all about the stresses of your day,and calming you down.Not you screaming at her because she asked you if you would prefer jollof rice or fried rice huh huh
@debo
My apologies if that sounded sexist.Trust me,the thought never occurred to me.And,you can tell a lot about a person's character from a single incident.This is the real world.And in the real world,if you keep an open mind all the time,your brains will fall way out.You've gotta be smart and read between the lines.Better safe than sorry.

I'm sure nobody here is referring to ''insults'' such as 'you're silly'.That's mild.Personally i'm talking about something bigger,else i'd be wasting my time here.Sure you hit rocks in relationships and it takes maturity to climb over those rocks and get back on track.But dude,there are some boulders that just should not be climbed over,i tell you.And what's with all the firing at females?Its just a discussion,no need getting heated.And everybody's giving personal opinions,not that someone said your girlfriend will react like that. grin grin grin If a girl feels she's not getting the respect she deserves,she's free to walk away.Better staying single in my opinion than being with an abusive man.And,this is a boyfriend here,not a husband.If,as your boyfriend he insults you in public wey e never pay bride price put for head,what do you think he will do as a husband when he virtually owns you?Better a spinster than a divorcee full of bruises with 3 kids and no job grin grin

When an argument between a guy and his girlfriend evolves into the guy publicly insulting her and not caring who hears him,that's crossing a lot of boundaries.If,in the first place,they can't have an argument in public without it turning nasty,bad day or not,they have no business being together.

No need being nasty,save that for the Sports section wink I meant the part where you said fighting in public Inever said any such thing.That's just razz.A woman fighting in public is a terrible sight to behold,trust me.
