Career › Re: Pains Of A 'first Class' Graduate In Nigeria :'( by cassyrooy(m): 9:08am On Aug 20, 2015 |
GrammarNazi: Sometimes, I wish I hadn't graduated with 'First Class honours'
Sometimes, I wish I'd made a comfortable 2nd class upper or even lower.
And NO, I'm not kidding!
If I'd made a 2:1 or 2:2 like most other people did, nobody would expect me to have the answer to every question, simply because "but you're a first class graduate na".
Nobody would be surprised that you still don't have a job, one year after youth service. When you tell people you're looking for a job, nobody would ask you dumb questions like "how can you be looking for a job, when you made first class? Companies should be chasing you with job offers na"
If I'd made a 2:1 or 2:2, nobody would put me under unnecessary pressure. Nobody would expect me to perform better than everyone else on the team, and when I miss something just like everyone else did, nobody would ask "how did you make first class sef?"
It's a pity that something that should be a thing of pride has become something I'm too ashamed to mention in public. These days, when I want to apply for a job, I debate whether to use 'First Class or second class upper' on my C.V. How do I explain that haven't gotten a job almost two years after NYSC? (and YES, I attended a Federal University).
I haven't even mentioned the embarrassment in the hands of these marketing companies. You see 'First Class' on my C.V, and you have the guts to invite me for an interview, to come market some stupid 'weight loss' product at monthly salary of #25k+variable commission
Chai!
I have suffered..... For me, 1st Class or nothing! 2.1 ain't bad, so any is classy for me. |

Avenger4NL: If you are still there and you have internet connection just check the history of the browser(the same browser on the actual computer you used for the registration) and hopefully it will reproduce the receipt. If you find it hard to print directly then I'll advise you to look for the print screen key on the keyboard and press it. This should create a screenshot(pix) which you can then print. You may need to open a picture editing app e.g Microsoft Office Picture Manager where you can paste the screenshot and then save before printing. Bro the URL are usually broken after 15-30ms from when you did the transaction, even, you cant go back to the payment page right after leaving the page. That is for privacy and security reasons. |

IceDude: U are right bro. It got to a point i couldnt even concentrate in class cos all i was thinking abt was sexx sexx sexx. I made the move to confessed to my mum one fateful morning during devotion cos her sermon that morning was touching, i opened my mouth but couldnt spk. She made the sweet sin looked so good that all attempts i made to report her proved abortive Good thing is you pulled through and you've learnt things way faster than you could've if reverse was the case. And about talking to your mum about it, it might've gone wrong if you'd mentioned it to her, your said molestor would be punished within legal bounds but the trauma of being molested, the guilt of being responsible for her punishment might have overwhelmed you. |

IceDude: I was molested when i was about 12yrs old by our neighbours younger sister. The babe was about 17 or 18 then........She taught me kerewalogy from year 1 till i graduated. After my graduation i started terrorizing gals in my neighbourhood you took it well bro, freely you were terrorized and now you are freely terrorizing them back. PS: i detest rape in it entirety, whether female or male. It violate sexual rights of the victims which haunts them for a significant parts of their lives. |

harrisonett: how to find adec:
GO TO ENGINEERING DEPT (to find d dept, pass the left side of the auditorium, thats d black building in middle facing maingate after the lawns & flower when u first enter d sch.
after trecking pass d left side of d auditorium, u will meet a building 500LT (or 1000LT i don't remember which) TURN LEFT in the road that pass in front of d 500lt
d road is c shaped, don’t go too far, immediatedly turning, enter the road (dept) at ur left (there is a mast & trees around the dept)
NOW U ARE IN ENGINEERING DEPT,
TO FIND ADEC, IMMEDIATELY ENTERING THE ROAD LEADING TO THE DEPT, COUNT THE BUILDING IN YOUR RIGHT, THE 2ND BIULDING TO YOUR RIGHT IS ADEC, the building is small, beautifull and far back in the right.
WISH U ALL SUCCESS and remember try pass english + any non-calculation subject very well. I just got myself a useful tip by following this thread. Good hint bro! |
