Troops of 8 Task Force Division, Nigerian Army, on clearance operations under the auspices of Operation LAFIYA DOLE in the North East yesterday had an encounter with Boko Haram terrorists at Chikun Gudu, northern apart of Borno State. During the encounter, the gallant troops neutralized quite a number of the terrorists, while others escaped with gun shot wounds. They also captured gun trucks, arms and ammunition as well as 14 terrorists.

The troops captured 2 Toyota Gun trucks stolen from Niger Republic Defence Forces, 2 Toyota Hilux Gun trucks, one of which was taken by the Boko Haram terrorists from 153 Task Force Battalion location sometime back, a 25 HP Yamaha Outboard Engine, 2 Solar panels and 5 empty Belts of Anti-Aircraft Guns ammunition links.

Others include 1 Gun bipod, 12 pairs of Boko Haram terrorists fighters uniform, 5 flags, 37 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, 84 copies of Holy Quran and 270 books on Islamic Literature.

The troops also recovered and destroyed over 70 motorcycles used by the terrorists to launch attacks, 3 shops stocked with medical supplies, 3 other shops with provisions and 3 wooden boats.

They also recovered 2 Niger Republic Drivers' Licenses, 2 mobile telephone handsets and 2 Wooden Slates.

Unfortunately 4 of soldiers were wounded in action and they have evacuated to a medical facility where they are receiving treatment.

Some of the disguised London or fairly used phones carry murder cases, particularly, where the true owners were murdered.

Several of such reported cases of stolen phones come from Oshodi, Mile 2, Mile 12, Mushin e.tc.

These phones are mostly without packs and chargers.

Each time you buy used phone, insist on the source and get your receipt. Please, keep it. That could be your saviour when the law enforcement agents tracked the phone to you because it might be difficult getting those that sold it to you.

Note that, each time you buy that unverified fairly or London used phone, you are helping to keep robbers and criminals in business.

As soon as the robbers and criminals get their victims' phones, they are moved to Computer Village, Mushin and other markets where they are made to look like London or Fairly Used Phones.

Former Member House of Assembly Kukawa Local Government area in Borno state, Hon. Ali Darni Abba Saleh, is dead. According to mulitple online reports, the ex chairman, House Committee on Budget, died this morning by 1am.... He will be laid to rest today by 2:00pm at 777 housing estate Maiduguri, Borno state capital. May his soul rest in peace.

A mother was overjoyed when she saw her children for the first time after three years apart. The mother who couldn't contain her excitement -had to run to embrace her boys at the airport as she danced with them . The family were separated by the incessant Boko Haram attacks in the north eastern part of the country.

A Boko Haram male suicide bomber who disguised as a girl in a bid to cause mayhem today in Borno state -was intercepted by security operatives. This was revealed by Muazu Alhaji Misiya who is a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State. The lone bomber who shot dead to avert any tragedy.

An outrage has been sparked online after banner pictures of pastor Akan Weeks of the Reigners Bible Church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State -being referred to as a Bishop was spotted in Ghana. The church collapsed last year December (barely 3 months) -killing lots of members and injuring many others.

The collapse happened during a Bishopric consecration of the founder of the church Pastor Akan Weeks. Due to the tragedy, the event was suspended indefinitely.

Reports had it that the Pastor Akan Weeks moved to another location in Abak Local Government Area to conduct the event even though some of his church members were severely injured and some dead, but he denied it.

His banner pictures have been spotted in Ghana with the pastor now referred to as Bishop.

People are now asking has the pastor moved on considering the fact that he said he doesn't need the Bishop title for now or did the Ghanaian church make a mistake .

Different online users have been left enraged by this new development.

Ahead of the expected closure of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for the repairs of the runway beginning from 8th of March 2017, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has commenced the upgrading of navigational facilities at the Kaduna airport to absorb the increased volume of traffic to be diverted from Abuja.

The aircraft which will be used for calibration has landed in Kaduna to measure the landing systems....

Governors Willie Obiano and Rochas Okorocha of Anambra and Imo states respectively seem to have buried their hatchet at the just concluded South East Governors Meeting held today in Enugu. The governors who had been at loggerheads -engaged in online tirades through their media aides over Rochas Okorocha's allegation that three governors from the South East zone are set to de­fect to the ruling All Progres­sives Congress (APC).

Obiano, who came into of­fice on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), said that the APC had “failed at the level of the Federal Government and could not in­spire the governors to join the party”.

A taxi driver caught violating traffic regulations was pictured pleading with the FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)‎, Mr Sunday Oghenekaro (L), at Berger junction in Abuja on Tuesday. The passengers and other passersby joined in begging with the driver.

The Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) has won the Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency after INEC Returning Officer, Prof Shola Omotola completed the collation of results at the Collation Center at Okehi. With the results collated from the Supplementary Elections of February 25, 2017 and rerun elections of December 10, 2016, Chief Jerome Eke of the PDP defeated Mr Ogbonna Nwuke of the APC.

Also, the Tony Ejiogu of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated his closest challenger, Mr Golden of the APC.

For the Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency, Returning Officer, Prof Shola Omotola announced that APC Polled 6, 220 votes while PDP polled 15, 221 votes.

For the Etche State Constituency 2, Returning Officer, Oluwatosin Odusonya announced that APC scored 1618 votes while PDP polled 4162 votes.

As the two INEC Returning Officers for the Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency, Prof Shola Omotola and Etche Constituency 2, Oluwatosin Odusonya were about to declare the PDP winner, military personnel at the Collation Center brought a phone to them, claiming that the call was from the National Commissioner of INEC in charge of the election.

Upon receiving the call, INEC Returning Officer for Etche/ OmumaFederal Constituency, Prof Shola Omotola stated that all collated results should be moved to the Port Harcourt office of INEC.

Soldiers of the Nigerian Army who stopped the declaration at Okehi moved the collated results alongside party agents and political leaders to Port Harcourt. They were joined by PDP leaders led by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and the APC Candidate for Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency, Mr Ogbonna Nwuke.

At the headquarters, leaders of the two parties insisted that the two INEC Returning Officers publicly announce collated results to the media and party agents present.

After the announcement, the INEC Returning Officers handed the already collated results to party agents.

Party leaders left INEC by 3.30am on Sunday morning, while agents and security agencies were detailed to stay with the INEC Returning Officers for the declaration of results by 9am on Sunday, 26th February, 2017

The Returning Officers claimed that they were directed by the National Commissioner not to declare PDP winner of the two elections. They claimed that the National Commissioner said she must get clearance from Abuja, before any further step would be taken.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike condemned the act of trying to subvert the will of the people Rivers State through INEC Result manipulation, backed reckless security agencies.

He said Rivers people will continue to resist all fraudulent attempts to manipulate election results. He declared that elections can only be won at the polling units and not through the swapping of result sheets by security agencies and INEC.
