The Ndu_Chuks Guy Probably Never Heard That Northerners Glamoured For The Fund, Claiming There Were Oil Deposits In Their Region.

Ngwakwe: Ndu_Chuks, why not appreciate sincerity when you sense and see one.?

This information is not a written speech but the conversation during the meeting with North West PDP Caucus if am not mistaken.

On the issue of $1B vote for Oil exploration in Nigerian side of the Chad Basin, this was necessary and politically expedient for the time being until all options are exhausted to convince the Northerners that there is no conspiracy against them since it is a popular belief that proceeds from groundnut, cocoa and palm oil were invested in the exploration of Oil in the Niger Delta before the actual discovery and subsequent dependent on Oil.

On the issue of Solid minerals, you should know that Nigeria under OBJ through the then Minister for Solid minerals Ezekwesili has developed a map for Nigerian Solid minerals deposits after a comprehensive geological surveys and investments and its now left for investors to key into it.

I was actually expecting you to apply your vast knowledge of Nigeria Socio-political and Economic structures in reading senses into the President's explanations.

The summary of what GEJ said is why I still believe that Project Nigeria can work to become a great success after these trying times under regional structures where our resources are harnessed for the Citizens of this great Country.

Politics › Re: My Stand On Who APC Should Field For The Presidency/VP - Femi Fani-kayode by castrokins(m): 6:25pm On Jan 07, 2014
Sloan: In as much as their was a "gentleman" agreement for the Northern part of the country to be president and that didn't quite workout with Yaradua, I think fair is fair: that arrangement should be honoured! Tomorrow, it might be another person from a different part of the country that may be on the receiving end and then we will have the moral standing to tell whoever it is how whatever "imperfect" arrangement that operated (created by mostly the PDP elements) and favoured them in the past must then be allowed to favour whoever is on the seat or whose turn is it at that time. My only and most important consideration is that such a person be credible, patriotic, honest, possess very strong leadership skills, be a bridge builder and not an ethnic jingoist and ready to reach out to all parts of the country to build it only, not destroy it with narrow parochial and tribalist interests.

Democracy is a game of numbers, so follow the numbers! Where are the numbers? In the North and West (majorly)! From the foregoing position, the North should get a chance to present a credible candidate who they can be sure will be accepted to other parts of the country and who must be prepared, not another Yaradua or GEJ kind of president. Next, the West because of the strong leadership and vibrant administrative credentials of the Yorubas, you can see the list from immemorial and contemporary times: Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Tunde Idiagbon, Bola Tinubu, Raji Fashola, Rauf Aregbesola, Ibikunle Amosu, and the list is virtually endless! The West enjoys practically nothing from the central governments since the days of Obasanjo and YET, it is far ahead of every other region in economy, infrastructural, development, tourism, education, science and technology, commerce, etc! Also, the Westerners are by far the most gifted planners, thinkers and builders of people and politics! Since about 15 years ago, they've build AD (successful in 1999 with several positions but was killed by the Obasanjo PDP), then they rebuilt again with AC and then morphing into ACN and making so much progress on all fronts in the West and Edo State, and then going into a strategic political merger with other parties and in less than 1 year of registration, the APC has put PDP's over 15 years of party politics to flight and shame! Also the West are the most calm and cool-headed people you can be sure to use their good sense when their are potential problems that could cause a conflagration. Finally, for their leadership and tenacity in birthing the APC with CPC, ANPP, etc; they should definitely be on the joint ticket with a northern candidate. Together, they form about 70% of all votes that could be garnered at anytime in Nigeria.

Next, they must work very hard to gain the confidence (and not just that MUST DELIVER) of our brothers in the SS and SE. Even in a family, some children will be wayward and irresponsible or not on the same page but it's up to the more sensible to show the way forward. The candidates must work hard in states like Rivers, Kwara, Nassarawa, Kogi, Benue, Imo and Edo States (who are actually close cousins of the Yorubas) to gain more of their confidence and tell them exactly what they will do and I want them to get onto it as soon as they're in government. If they can show other states how the West is able to come up with consistently higher IGR numbers, which touch the lives of the people, the next campaigns will be much easier and they will not be like the present government that now hires thousands of commenters online and people to do PR to launder their image.

Finally, the first task of this pair of candidates is to DESTROY CORRUPTION before it DESTROYS the country and everybody in it. I hope they can succeed with good planning and flawless excellent execution of their plans!
Sir, I Find It Bemusing To Say Yoruba (South West) Haven't Enjoyed Anything. Is Obasanjo Not A Yoruba Man? Was He Not A Two-term President Of This Countryhuh Why Do We Choose To Make Things Difficult For Ourselves...What Has Credibility Got To Do With Regions And Extractions? Is That What We Need To Move The Country Forward, Bigotryhuh?? #smh!!!

I understand the hurt these exclusive bunch of fraudsters have turned Nigerians into. It's pathetic and I feel very sorry for all of us. If it were possible, I'd keep eyes off politics in Nigeria and Africa but I am from Akwa Ibom and my State desires change and unless every hand is on deck, it may be impossible to have the so desired change.

callmenow: Thank God for twitter. We get to know how some so called 'prominent' Nigerians conduct themselves and their politics when they fall out of favour with the presidency of the day. El Rufai is the epitome of cowardice. A notorious keyboard warrior. He is pathologically vain, mostly paranoid, certainly deluded and essentially defensive. What a pillock. He seems to have made a deal with the devil. Is it by force that he has to be a minister? Since when has it become a divine right for anyone to rule Nigeria. They should cool down. Jonathan is not eboe. OBJ's assumption that no eboe must aspire to the presidency of Nigeria for a hundred years after the defeat of Biafra is still intact. Or does OBJ's stated aims include Bayelsa as part of eboe land? All these rumours of impending coup in Abuja is making me frisky. I do not want any more military rule in Nigeria. I will be re-confirming my foreign residency permit pronto. This tone of 'us' and 'them'. Either us or military mentality from the likes of Rufai and Kayode will haunt them if they get their wishes.

Nairaland General › Thompson Esseien To Udom Emmanuel: Akwa Ibom State People Don't Want You by castrokins(op): 8:14am On Dec 28, 2013
Everyday, Nigerians Find The Steam To Place Themselves In A Position Of Political Relevance Through Open Letters To Public Office Holders. From Sanusi's Cry For Remittances From NNPC To Obasanjo's Attention Seeking Advice To President Jonathan. Rejoinders From Kashamu, And Nuhu Ribadu And The Keyboard Crazy Fani Kayode, We Have Seen More Nigerians Trying Out Literatures As A Bait To Get Public Sympathy And Political Ties. Here I Stumbled On One Written By An Akwa Ibom Man And Published On Global Concord Of 12th December, 2013. Enjoy!!!
*************************************************************

A LETTER TO SECRETATY UDOM EMMANUEL

This letter could have been sent to you in private, but because issues in this letter matter so much to the people of Akwa Ibom State, I decided to share it with them through the public media.
Before others come to tell you all sorts of stories about me, let me tell you how I feel about Godswill Obot Akpabio. I don’t like Akpabio. I don’t like his attitude and I don’t like his behaviors. A few days ago when I made the mistake to click on a YouTube video and heard the voice of Akpabio delivering a speech, I almost destroyed my computer screen in disgust; that is how much I hate Akpabio.
It is on record that Godswill Akpabio wants you as his successor. Have you ever wondered why Akpabio will forgo all those who have stood by him, work for him, and do all his evil biddings since 2007, to come and settle on you as his choice for the Hilltop Mansion? For years, Bassey Albert Akpan, Barrister Ntekim and many others have helped sustain the criminal activities of Akpabio. Have you stopped one day to ponder why Akpabio does not trust any of such inner members of his cabinet to be his successor?
I am aware that several acquaintances of yours have contacted and pleaded with you to tell Akpabio that you are not interested in succeeding him. But you have waived aside the good advice of those people because it is very likely that you are just as power-hungry as Godswill Akpabio. That may be the reason you fail to read the handwriting on the wall which indicates that Akpabio is trying to use you to accomplish his heinous goals and objectives.
Let me tell you something, Godswill Akpabio does not give a damn about you. He wants to exploit you to his advantage and after he knows that you are no longer useful to him, he will discard you like sacks of potatoes and will definitely make sure that your career is ruined and your future destroyed, because that is who Akpabio is.
Akpabio may pat you on the back and call you “my brother” in front of everyone. In reality, he is laying down the invisible bombs that will, sooner or later, detonate on your face. There is nothing you will do for Akpabio that other well-intentioned Akwa Ibom people did not do.
I don’t need to go into details here; what will you do for Akpabio that Senator John Udoedehe did not do? What will you do for Akpabio that Obong Victor Attah did not do? What are you going to do for Akpabio that Ime Umana did not do? And how much money are you going to give Akpabio that Umana Okon Umana did not donate towards his gubernatorial election in 2007?
Here is the question; where are all these men now and what are their relationships with Akpabio today? The purpose of this letter is to recommend that you reject the offer made to you by Akpabio to succeed him. First of all, you will never win the election and Akpabio knows it. There is opposition against you, much more than you know or are willing to admit. No member of Akpabio’s inner circle will support you. You may not know that behind you, members of his inner circles are putting pressure on Akpabio to drop you. Chief amongst those that are wedging a stiff opposition and pressuring Akpabio to let go of you is Bassey Albert Akpan because he feels grossed that Akpabio has gone out to bring in an outsider to fill the office in which people like Bassey Albert believes strongly that it belongs to them. It will not take long before Akpabio succumbs to the pressure being exerted on him by his advisers.
I do not know you, other than what I have read on the media. But nearly everyone I have spoken with tends to say good things about you. No matter how nice they say you are, Akwa Ibom people do not want you as their governor. Perhaps if you had come out to contest on your own, there might have been a possibility for you to win, but because you are being fronted by Akpabio, the people will definitely reject you. They will reject you because Akpabio is the most hated man in Akwa Ibom State; therefore, anything from him, of him, and about him will be rejected by the people.
Ibibio people don’t want you. Ekid people don’t want you. Oro nation don’t want you. The Annangs don’t want you. No interest group in Akwa Ibom State is will to support you as their next governor. They are asking where you were hiding when Akpabio was busy killing their fathers, their brothers, sisters, cousins, and uncles. They are asking where you hid your voice of condemnation against the assassination of Edidem James Obot, Mamma Udonwa, Chief Paul Inyang, and Barrister Udonwa to name only a few.
Sir, at your convenience, please scroll down to the bottom of this letter and at least casually scan through the list of some of the victims of Godswill Akpabio since he was (s)elected as the governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2007.
By looking at the list, you may be able to understand why Akwa Ibom people do not want you or anyone who will be fronted by Akpabio. By selecting you to succeed him, many people are afraid that you will do to them exactly what Akpabio did, especially when, in one of your recent speeches, you mentioned that if elected, you will continue the “good work” of Akpabio; the thought of only those two words alone is in itself very scary!
I could have written more, but I did not want to belabor my readers with a lengthy letter. But let me reiterate what I wrote above; do not accept the offer to you by Akpabio to succeed him. It will never happen and Akpabio will end up destroying you.
Finally, here are some words of wisdom (not religion);
“The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult”. Proverbs 12:15-16 (NIV).
