In that case, Calabar should be restored as the Capital of Nigeria and if you go to oil producing countries, the oil producing regions are usually the most developed. NPA should be relocated to the SE region since they are the ones activily involved in Importation. And he shouldnt impose yoruba baba oloja in non-yoruba market.

Fashola should focus on things that unifies the nation and not those that cause division.

Fashola dont forget Lagos was nothing until it became the capital of Nigeria.
You Have Spoken Well...Let's Have The Capital Of Nigeria Back In Calabar. Then We Can Go Back To Fashola

Politics › Akpabio Barred From Aso Rock? by castrokins(op): 10:08am On Oct 16, 2013
If reports by Osun Defender is anything to go by, then all is not well with Akpabio & Jonathan. Over the course of the past months, both leaders have exude that would be described as "Unbreakable". However, news filtered through that the indefatigable Akpabio, The Cash-bearer of the current crops of Nigerian Leaders was barred from to the seat of power.

Read Excerpts from OD: http://www.osundefender.org/?p=126526
***********************************************************************************************************

The Akwa Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, may have been barred from the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, over what insiders refer to as his “poor comportment and misbehaviour” inside the seat of the Nigerian federal government.

During a recent visit to the Aso Rock Villa, the governor of the oil-rich state and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum was said to have distributed large sums of dollars to security men and presidential aides who were on duty inside the Villa, which got to the knowledge of the President.

The seemingly corrupt influences of Gov. Akpabio may have prompted the decision of the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebeble Jonathan, to bar him from the villa as Akpabio is said to be in the corrupt habit of sharing thousands of dollars to staff of the presidential villa during his visits so much so that staff of the villa always look forward to his visit and sometimes, hang around the premises even when they would have completed their shift in anticipation of Akpabio’s dollar rain!

Unaware of the President’s stance over his reckless behaviour, Akpabio recently paid another unscheduled visit to Aso Rock and was expecting the usual red carpet reception from the staff, but to his shock was denied entry and had to turn back with his entourage in shame.

The security details acting on “orders from above” refused to open the gate for him and asked him instead to go back to avoid further embarrassment .

The governor’s attempt to speak with the Nigerian First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, over the issue resulted in further rebuff as the first Lady in her characteristic bluntness told Akpabio who has made Abuja his second home to go back to Uyo and exercise his mandate of governing Akwa Ibom state instead of turning himself into a nuisance in Abuja.

Lately, Godswill Akpabio has acquired the reputation of an “unserious governor” who is always giving away hefty sums of state resources for flimsy reasons. His sponsorship of singer Tuface Idibia’s marriage to Annie Macauley, an indigene of Akwa Ibom state in faraway Dubai also earned him the nickname of “Donatus”.

Recently also, Akpabio’s gift of N50 million to the country movie industry, known as Nollywood, among several other donations seems not to have gone down well with some indigenes of the state who are wallowing in poverty over unpaid salary.

Residents of Uyo have also accused Akpabio of abandoning Akwa Ibom state, a state he fought so hard to govern especially during his campaign for re-election for Abuja, where he is said to be operating from.

“Our Governor now lives in Abuja and does not seem to care about whatever happens here. He only parachutes in to commission projects or declare open seminars and workshops and thereafter goes back to Abuja”, volunteered a senior party official who would not want his name in print.

His very frequent visits to the Presidential villa and his unruly behaviour were said to be giving President Goodluck Jonathan some serious concerns, and may have informed Jonathan’s decision to restrict his visit to the Villa. For now, Akpabio, a PDP poster boy is at some crossroads over the turn of events.

alexleo: It was the federal Government of Nigeria that signed the agreement so it doesn't matter who was president at that time. Take it to court and they ll tell you the same thing. FG knows this that's why they can't take ASUU to court. They ll lose woefully in court. That's why they resorted to giving ASUU a small fraction of the agreement so that you people will have sympathy for them and start blaming ASUU. The same tactics they use when campaigning for election. They share rice and 1000 naira notes to people and the people clap for them and vote them to power. When they get there they ll turn their back to the same people and chop the money alone with their family members. Nigerians are not tired of the deceit of politicians. Keep blaming ASUU and remain at home while the children of the politicians you are supporting are schooling overseas or private universities around. Who loses at the end? Students.
Agreement Was Signed On Projections. The Reality Now Is That It's Not Implementable. There's Need For Re-negotiations.

timpaker:
I support ASUU. The government should honour the 2009 agreement or no lectures.
But I feel that instead of this rally they ought to be doing more on advocacy and sensitization as the general public have no idea on what the rift between ASUU and FG is all about.
She Stated The Rift, Or How Did You Read Her Statement? The Motive Here Is Greed And It's Obvious. Not Only Are ASUU Members Greedy, Nigerians Are Naturally Insatiable. If You Want To Earn Like David Mark, Get In Politics, SIMPLES.

jayriginal: Most of the people condemning ASUU have no clue whatsoever. Get yourselves enlightened!

Now listen. ASUU is fighting for a cause and ASUU is being steadfast in their cause. This is not an ambush, this is over an agreement that was reached years ago.

ASUU is not like other unions eg your NLC.

Does anyone remember how NLC ruined the occupy Nigeria protest to the dismay of many Nigerian youths? Have you forgotten the betrayal of the masses when the NLC in mysterious circumstances called of the strike?
Did anybody do anything about it?
What of the youth that died during the protest? He was shot by police. What happened to that?

You know why NLC could betray you like that? You know why the Government can walk all over you with shoes studded with 6 inch nails? You know why the general condition of the masses does not improve?

It is because we are a nation of lily livered suffering and smiling people who will rather continue in hardship than risk the slightest inconvenience to stand up for their rights.

ASUU is fighting for a cause!
You should ask ASUU how they expend TETFUND. What cause are they fighting for? After years of funding through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, can you say for a certainty that objectives of the fund were/are met?
Education › Re: FG Stops Salaries Of Striking Lecturers (ASUU) by castrokins(m): 12:16pm On Oct 11, 2013
nerodenero: To say Uncle Jona was a former lecturer and allowed this strike to linger this long is seriously appalling. If the Government of old were insensitive to the plight of the Lecturers and the rot in the educational sector, the government of the day can't claim ignorant. Uncle Jonaboy, wake up from your slumber, remember these lecturers were your former colleague, speedily come to their rescue, reposition the educational sector and give hope to the poor masses whom largely the current crisis affects. God bless Nigeria.
Talk is really cheap...You believe it's all as simple as you coin?? There's more to this agreement than you've discerned. Nigeria is more complex than we sit at the periphery and assume. That Jonathan was a lecturer doesn't change the complex society we live in. You don't dole out money because you're friends are asking for it. Have you read the full script of the agreement? Is it implementable?? Have you considered other sectors begging for attention?? These issues are fundamental and one need fundamental background to understand where the parties are crying from. People scripted the agreement, they may have goofed. The present administration doesn't feel comfortable with the terms and have sought renegotiation.

ikp4succes: Solution to Assu Strike: Govt should remove thier hand from the Education sector let the universities run by themselves or privatized. The money you will give Assu give students as loan to go to these universities, you can calculate how much the student parent's can afford then give loan for the remainder, the one that is smart u give them scholarship. Students will pay back when they find a job in their field, and you can setup an installment plan depending on their income. The only thing Govt should do is regulate the school fees and give money to schools that does research...that's all. ASUU will dissolve. The professor/lecture will only have to sign Contract with university they will only have problem with the university if they are not paid. Universities can lay off lecturers if they cannot afford. I promise you within 10 years, two universities in Nigeria will enter ranking and compete with Western Universities.

Of Course We'd Embark On Strike. I'm A NASU Member (Unical) And We've Not Been Paid. And On The ASUU Imbroglio, A Staff (ASUU) Member Said Unical Had Received N3Billion Part Of Funds Released By The Feds Based On Unical's NEEDS Assessment. He Went On To Say That ASUU Is Bent On Dragging Down The Government To Make 100% Commitment Or At Least Drag On To Deceive Nigerians They Were Not In For The Money. In A Democracy, You Expect People To Shift Grounds For Progress While Sustaining Dialogue. I Have Seen Many ASUU Members Who Are Against The Ongoing Strike Action. When We Blame The Feds For Corruptions, We'd Also Understand The University Leadership Isn't Accountable To Nobody.
