Poems For Review / I Gave Her Up by cbase: 10:14am On Aug 14, 2013 |
I gave her up She who loved me Loved me more than I was worth I gave us up. Her heart is sore & blistered I feel like a monster Now we are on these phone and it sounds weird Like total strangers I say hi, she says hi, then silence She sobs as she asks if am sure This is what I want No, this isn't what I want But it isn't about what I want I say yes and I feel terrible. I can't promise her the tomorrow we both want Time at the moment permits us not The warmth of your skin The rush & the tightness in our hearts when we hugged Our hearts pound, super bass. I limit you from the you, you should be Seems like I cast it away Good going we had I'll regret it, if am wrong Dusk approaches, and scared I am Scared I'll never find another like you. But I love you enough to let go Why I believe that I do not know But the reality remains Everyday seems same Now we are done, and I feel alone Confused and cold down to my bones.

Poems For Review / The Two Of Us by cbase: 6:32am On Aug 13, 2013 |
We were two strangers drawn together Now it seems like I've known you forever You are my dear friend, we've our differences But we always make up, smile and forget our idiosyncrasies We are lovers Kiss, cuddle and make out on the sofa Length for length Passion for passion You match me You hold yourself up for me in the right ways You know and touch me in the right places We fit like we're made for each other If you were NEPA, and I was a light bulb I'd always be switched On 'Cos you turn me on When you frown and sad, oh la la Then you're happy again, feels like haleluya alleluya!! You smile and light up the whole town Lips like sugar, super figure, super hips. Your laughter sets me on fire I'll never tire of 'Em You light me up and you know it I want to be your every fantasy You're beautiful Lips of an angel, hips like a diva We connect And when we're not It hurts But... Am your one, but not your only There's Him I want to be with you Technically, you're not my girl There's Her There's our promises There's our commitments. Can't stop thinking about... ...the what ifs?? We should've stopped ourselves But couldn't We both know, we can't keep this going forever Sooner or later, we'll have to define what we've going Till then sweetheart We'll leave the thinking for the day Tonight, sweetheart Hold me close, make me warm Come on say it, say it again It sounds so sweet telling me am all you want We are half lost.... Sometimes you have to get lost To find yourself... Maybe only then will the sense of self finally exist. |
Poems For Review / Better Days by cbase: 12:46pm On Apr 27, 2013 |
One of my favorite early morning tasks is listening to Dr. Mike Okonkwo (The Presiding Bishop of TREM) on 92.3 Inspiration FM about past 5 in the morning. He always never misses quoting or declaring these lines “Everyday and in every way, I am getting BETTER: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally and in all my endeavors….” Thinking about it I think that’s the reason I loved the short session in the first place. Better days are nigh, I can feel it We’ve tried and I know it By strength shall no man prevail Neither by might shall any excel But by His grace, we will amaze Because we will find these better days I’d love to see Nigeria in peace With no more Boko-Haram, MASSOB, MEND, when crooked leaders cease. see a Fulani hug a Tiv, call him brother And only we can change It’s up to us to clean up the streets, it ain’t the same Too many murders, too many funerals and too many tears Just seen another brother buried plus I knew him for years but what could I say? Keep Praying for better days. We’ve been hurt in the worst ways By men, Products of cursed semens sworn in on cursed days Look how we live Addicted to hearing victims screaming Lil Kids hungry, crying and screeching Momma’s health’s bad and she can’t have care Going crazy, ‘bout to flare Plus we’re about to get evicted, can’t pay the rent No jobs, no incomes, we are so broke, time to see who really is your friend Can’t feed all day long too, but they’re wrong Trying to keep up and stay strong Keep your head up and try to keep the faith Lets start thinkin bout better days Got a call, neighbors wife just put to bed, twins And there’s life still, so many blessing while we stressing Looking for them better days And even in my dreams I visualize places Places where we all live in peace I settled down, had a job and a family And in my minds eyes I see this place Where there’s a spot for us all so we can ball Sweet life must be somewhere for us all Better days, I see ‘em coming. |

Poems For Review / Tour by cbase: 3:42pm On Oct 19, 2012 |
If you're reading this Yes I speak to you Believe it, it reads true Welcome to the city of my heart I'll be your guide for the rest of this tour. Currently at the right side of the city we stand Beautifully and smoothly it runs I'd like to think prepared you've come As I take you through its chambers. 1st Chamber: Here my lady, rises my thoughts On the walls for every thought hangs a frame. I think about heaven, that's its frame Yes that's you on that frame, and on that one That's you again, lol and that's me thinking bout food, then other thoughts. Those frames lol yeah Tis all money frames I think of money as much as I think of you Haha what do u xpect, am an Igbo boy. Let's continue 2nd Chamber : Memories Remember the first day we met? The first date we went on? When you smiled and lit the whole world up? Those luscious lips, when we first kissed, did we? All those beautiful times we had and the ones you'd wish me to forget, lol. All are here secured. Wouldn't trade 'em for anything in this world. We approach the 3rd Chamber 3rd Chamber : Wishes & Dreams Surprise!!! It's a world of its own down here Yes that's my house, my cars And yes that's you my pretty wife, lol Bet you didn't see that coming did you? There're our kids, Junior and her sister I don't have a name for her yet, I'd leave that to you. That's me getting ready for work in the morning, Where are you, give me a hand with this tie, lol That's we getting old together. Hey! Babe wake up, let's move It's pretty easy to get lost in here. 4th Chamber : Realities The biggest of them all. We've come a long way, me & u You smile, I smile Life goes on. We've walked the mile But we ain't there yet. We've had our differences But hey! I'd choose u still any day I find you in the little things. Things happen that you can't stop. Know what's weird Life is funny Day by day nothing seemed to change Suddenly everything's different. You are my best friend And I fell for you. Look, we near the end of our tour Some days it ain't as pretty as it in here Days abide when it's turbulent and chaotic Days when I ask why Why you are so scared Scared to give me that last big part of yourself. I know, you told me And I promised, still it ain't easy If things are meant to happen They'll surely happen If they're not, well Let's force 'em to happen lol. Here we are Right where we began I see you, wish you could see you through me See how much we've got in common I know where you belong And I know it's with me. I might not have the prettiest face But I've got the biggest heart for you. Thank you ma'am for coming. Think of me when you would Goosebumps on me tell me when you do Until then... I've still got that bottle of wine, You should let us drink it. |

I could have run But i stayed back Maybe it was pride, maybe because with me i had Pun Already its dark. They advanced, snarling, their fangs they showed as they encircled me, Its either them or me, Tonight what will be will be. They are real close now, He's really hefty I draw out Pun beside me and release the safety He circles to the right, she to the left, Try to take me by surprise, scoofs! only if they knew how i felt I’ve seen them play, i know their game, I knew who tamed and trained 'em, Twas how he made his fame Its now or never, i see the wildness in her eyes I draw up Pun, level and let her fly She met her in the air as she leaped, twas cold as ice Now he's real mad He jumps; I shift and balance out, Shifting Pun towards Him, I Pull CLICK!!! Pun's Empty. You Win Some You Lose Some |

The Sun Dances In Your Eyes As written by Ceebase Wife, I’ll tell you about your eyes As exquisite as marble carved on ice Beneath the open skies The sun dances in your eyes Yes, the sun dances in your eyes Beautifully and giddy as butterflies I think I hear as it cries The sun dances in your eyes You’ve got the most beautiful smile Complimenting the fire in your eyes Stretching, making that beautiful face an artistic prize The sun dances in your eyes Should I tell a tale of lies About my gray hair and the dyes You’re the woman of my younger days The sun dances in your eyes Not by powers nor might If I should roll across miles of mire Or swim across rivers of fire, I’ll never tire, gazing into your eyes The sun dances in your eyes The sun in your eyes It attacks me like missiles Contentedly I sigh, The sun dances in your eyes For me a glass scotch on the rocks And a plate of French fries For you two chicken pies And a bottle of Smirnoff ice While you get the foods and drinks I’ll continue about your eyes on ink, The sun dances in your eyes Yes we are old, but very much young at heart You are the woman after my heart The mother of my kids and priestess of my loins The sun dances in your eyes You raised my sons and made us proud of each other My daughter you taught the beauty of fires Fires to captivate another Woman, thou art of great styles The sun dances in your eyes Our kids are all grown Married and in their own homes It’s just the two of us again Saying hi, never saying bye Whilst the sun dances in your eye I was a firefighter A fireman fighting fires But how do I fight these fireworks? The sun dancing in your eyes Through my years of firefighting Saving lives and bodies from burning buildings One fire I dared not fight The fiery sun dancing in your eyes Nigh draws the night Here we sit in twilight Waiting the dusk and fireflies Yet, the sun dances in your eyes I could talk all day about your eyes As exquisite as marble carved from ice Never minding time as it flies Like ghouls beneath the open skies But tomorrow in ambush lies Moving towards dawn with great strides While I sleep, I’ll dream again as other nights The sun dancing in your eyes |
