Sosoliso711: Hello Everyone,
Please I have a quick question. A friend of mine got admission to study in Canada for a PhD degree so she will be applying for my TRV next month by the Grace of God. The thing is she just found out that she's pregnant. Is this an issue? She applied for the position last year but got married early this year. Please is this an issue? Should she inform her advisor? she does not want to loose out on the admission because she received funding. Please gurus in the house, kindly advise. Theres no problem, she just has to show enough funds to take care of herself and the baby in canada. In this case I think her husband can apply for spousal work permit with her to assist in taking care of the baby. Good financial backing and a strong SOP can clarify everything. |

galala123: I will advise you to do that even if it means paying in full again. It will be worth every Kobo as your application seems to be heading towards positivity.
No drama, just carry on with the new form. It may even be an additional test required now (like Ebola )or further testing ( just guessing ) so just follow their instructions to the latter.
Obey before Complain! If the hospital said they've sent the report then i'll advice you email them your upfront e medicals slip again, it may be a technical glitch or they didnt see it. Wasting that money again for medicals doesn't seem right to me. I called IOM and asked them that question and they said you should just resend the slip given to you. Just to avoid any problem. What if they find it later on and you have two medicas, They may read different things because of the different times it was taken. Then again if the other one is found you may look desperate. I stand to be corrected. |

Did this happen to you or someone you know?
Also, how long did it take before they got their TRV? I dont think you should do medicals again, just resend the e medical form |

makano: Upfront medicals depends on an applicant. If the applicant feels his or her resumption date is close to the time of the application submission, then an upfront medical comes in, but it doesn't mean an automatic Visa cos the VOs checks for other criterials from ur application. Buh if you convince the VO in other areas of ur application, they won't need to send u a medical mail when its time for ur medical check, cos the hospital/Clinic would have sent them a report of ur result ND also they will give you a copy which u will attach with ur application. So when you do an upfront medical, they won't request for another medical, so far u did ur medicals in one of their registered hospital. Thanks for clarifying me. |

Hello everyone, please if you submit upfront medicals, will they start reviewing it or they will request for it again? I hear a lot say that when they request for medicals, then theres a 90% chance of visa approval, sorry for the confusion but i just want to understand the upfront medical thing and medical request. Since there is an upfront medical wont they just start reviewing it? does it mean the same thing? |

kingfintan: Please is it advisable for your sponsor to use a University letter head paper to write a sponsorship letter for you, as my elder brother who is a professor in one of the leading University in USA is my sponsor, hope it not a red flag, as CIC might say why didn’t I apply to his University were he is lecturing in the US. LOL, i dont think its a red flag but why use the school's letterhead when the school is not sponsoring you, i think he should type on a blank A4 paper |

Our application closes on February 28, 2018. We will begin notifying accepted applicants in the coming weeks. Also, remember that financial qualifications is one step, dont concentrate so much on one side and allow the rest suffer, when did you graduate from school? if you just finished NYSC, fine, if not, what have you been doing? does the masters program relate to your work/previous studies? and so on. please check all these points. cecechi: Hello jahluv, i would agree with everyone here that you may complicating issues. I think getting a sponsor, according to Frankrobbn1 will be the right way to go. The sponsor should state in his letter of sponsorship that he has paid the full tuition of 10,248 which is in excess into your student account and the graduate school has given you funding of 10,488 which should be enough for living expenses, but he/she is capable of handling any other extra curricula expenses that may incur during your stay. Your sponsor should be the one to state all these facts. You dont need to show your personal statement of account. please add the student account draft, letter from the school showing your funding, then as i said your sponsors financial qualifications and letter. please your sponsor should be a direct relative: brother, sister, mother or father |

hello, Good morning US and Canadian 4.0 scale is practically the same thing, besides its a guide, if you convert it to 4.0 scale using the WES guideline, simply multiply is by 100(for percentage)... Remember, its a guide, it may be higher or lower when the school calculates it according to their standards but the difference wouldn't be so much. Thanks Amakyzuu: Pls can you check again cos it's WES US that has that option. I've done the whole input and need to be sure that I can use the outcome to apply for admission. Thank u |

egolaw75: I have been carefully following the thread. I was denied today.
I submitted the application via paper route on 11th January 2018
I believe the VO did not go through my application AT ALL. Why?
I was denied on the following
- TRAVEL HISTORY - I have traveled to UK,France and US. I was in US last year i renewed my US visa for another two year. I photocopied all the visa pages and i submitted it. I don't think the VO went through the application
- FAMILY TIE - I am married with two kids. I am not going with them. They are staying here. Also my company wrote a letter to the Embassy which i submitted stating that the course am going for is a prerequisite for my next promotion. The company stated that after my studies i will come back to get a higher post. That am expected to resume back on so so day. I don't think the VO even open the document.
-PURPOSE OF VISIT - I wrote a comprehensive SOP. Stating all the facts i need to state and following the thread on SOP. I also believe the VO did not open it nor READ it AT ALL.
The course am going for is PGD and its for 10 months.I have over 5 years working experience and currently working.
I am thinking of reapplying again
Thanks all HELLO, sorry for the denial, i haven't applied yet, but your office stating that you will come back to a higher position doesn't tally with your reason for going for a PGD(its known that the higher the degree the better, so masters would be preferable in this scenario), with your wealth of experience you could try express entry, but if you are still determined in going to school, then go for masters, if you must try PGD, then you have to explain how it will help, if its in a different course, you could just say that you want to change positions in the company you work for, so its necessary. |

Frankrobbn1: Hello: Your friend profile is good. If I may ask what's her level of education.... BSc, PGD, MSc, phd applicant? Is her intended program relevant to her previous studies/job role.
From the look of things, she have done a good job by paying full tuition and transferring funds into a dormicarly account, letting the visa officer know that funds are readily available/accesible by the applicant and can be easily exported to Canada.?
But you have failed to list the sponspors documents and source of income.... Is the sponsor business incline or gainfully employed?
Answer these questions, then we know how best to help your friend(her) case. Thank you, So she graduated from business administration and she is going for an MBA, shes presently working in a firm(via NYSC) and its related to her course of study. Her sponsor(father) is business inclined and everything relating to his business(Tax clearance, CAC, company bank statements etc ) will be uploaded as employment documents. i just shortened the long text by coining it as employment documents. .... so is she good to go |

congratulations, please share your documents Youngblood28: Good day pals I have been a silent reader here for a couple of months now. I got my offer letter for fall 2017 sometime in March 2017 and proceeded with an online application( heard it was faster and more convenient) on the 5th of May2017, biometrics was done on the 9th of May2017 and I checked processing, it was about 14weeks then, so I relaxed. Wrote cic a couple of times when resumption was really close and my village people hijacked the mails. I had no choice but to defer the admission to fall 2018, because that is the only slot available. As God will have it, I got a medical call late November and a passport request 29th of Jan 2018. I wasn’t going to post this until I see the visa, but I want to encourage those who have been waiting this long not to give up hope, I pray you cannot wait this long and get a refusal IJN. |

Hello everyone, For those that come here saying that they are new to the forum and ask ambiguous questions, i just want to let you understand that being new to a place doesn't prevent you from mastering the environment before asking questions or taking actions, in this case READ. Please if you cannot read from thread 1 like most of us did, you could try by actually putting these questions on google, its not right to always spoon feed people with answers, you could start up something and someone on the forum can help you out. You want schools, take it to google, pick the ones you feel relate to your aspiration and pocket, then you can bring it here for people who have applied to those schools or are attending those schools to give their advice. Try and help yourself, so that when you achieve you will smile back at your effort, no matter how little it is |

Ope100: Dear all, happy new year and congrats to all those approved, to those delayed, re-strategize and re-fire. Your input(s) on this will be much appreciated. So I have this family friend who is a permanent resident in Canada and resides in Toronto, Ontario. He was home for the Christmas and new year break and asked me to come to Toronto to stay with him immediately after my service year, ending this April/May, while I wait for school to start In September.
The problem now is how do I avoid issues at the point of entry? Because my school is located in Prince Edward Island and not Ontario. I believe the officer at the point of entry will request to see my connecting flight ticket to where my school is located.
Will it be an issue if I have the ticket to show but for a later date, say last week in August and I let the officer know my intention is to reside with my family friend in Toronto, and Fly to Prince Edward Island later or I jejely stay back in Nigeria doing nothing till August and fly to Prince Edward Island.
PS: I got my visa approved November last year, for a program starting September this year.
Thank you for your input in advance. HELLO, i would advise two options: 1) you could apply for a visiting visa, i heard it doesnt take too long and seeing you have a trv, the visiting visa may not take time. OR 2)just chill till july and fly straight to prince edward island, after immigration checks, you can use local flight and travel to toronto till school resumes, you wont go through immigration checks twice. if they ask why you came early, you could simply tell them you want to settle in, prep for school and get use to their weather , besides your uncle will help you understand canada before you start school. |
