Thank you for this detailed explanation. I'm definitely going to try this before the rain comes. Or maybe use a dehydrator to make drying faster. Thank you ๐Ÿ’•
RevenuesBoost:

You get rid of the cyanide by putting all the grated cassava in a bag and pressing the liquid out, using a presser and hydrolic jack.
I'll search for the photo.

I'll drop a picture of the type of filter that should be used. it's called, Garri filter. It's flat and rectangular.

Making use of an hydrolic jack should take you 2, 3 or 4 hours. Depending on how wet the cassava is. You'll check your presser from time to time to tighten the jack. Watch till the liquid stops dripping from the bag.

During rainy season, cassava has much liquid
During dry season, cassava has less liquid.

In remote villages where they can't afford presser, they use bamboo sticks or plancks and robes to press the cassava, this usually takes two days.
Then the cassava will be filtered on the third day and processed to Garri.

Nice concept.

I would really like to give the cassava flour processing a try. Please how do you get rid of the cyanide? How did you 'filter' (I have no idea what that means ๐Ÿ˜, I'm yet to learn how to process garri) And finally for how long should I press?
Thank you in advance ๐Ÿ˜Š

You see those guys that sell sniper, piffpaff, rat poison and the likes, just ask them to give you green leaf. Or you can buy from shops (especially the ones located inside markets) that sell snipers and other insecticides.

it use to be N100 /sachet.
Buy up to 10 - 25 sachets and spread the powder around where the insects are usually found.
They will eat the powder and die after some days.

Green leaf powder. Those roaches will be gone for a long time.

Please what can I do.

Anytime I enter my kitchen, I always see small small cockroaches in my kitchen cabinets.

They will be hiding in different corners of both my up and down cabinets.

And these are where I store kitchen utensils.

I always put sniper (insecticide) in my kitchen to kill them but after two week, I will see them all over again roaming about my kitchen cabinets and cupboards

What do I do?

I already have the danwake mix(the flour) is just to add water.
But if you have flour, add kuka (dried boabbab leaves powder),little potash and mix. The mix should be like already made swallow in thickness.
Your water should come to a boil before you start dropping it bit by bit, allow to boil(do not cover the pot)
Transfer to cold water, then drain and garnish with oil, pepper and maggi, you can add veges too.

Well, at least the child can seat and stand by then and can stay on the potty without much supervision. They are also able to give you a cue or something to alert you that it is potty time. Not that these make potty training any less difficult. Very frustrating something. Just when you want to sit back and pat yourself on the back for a job well done, your little one will use urine and redesign the sitting room.
Omakraid:

Can you please share the experience, how's it like starting at that time?

Wow! shocked Oma you na correct super mom you be. Thanks for the tips. I'll try this with my son when we hit 6 months. Wish me luck cheesy
Omakraid:
Hello mums, I want to share this based on my shikini experience and considering it might be helpful for some mums.

I've always read about how difficult potty training can be and I've always wished it'd be the opposite for me. When my babe was 4 months +, I went visiting a church member whose babe was 3 weeks older. She was airing the babyโ€™s bum and also putting her on the potty occasionally to pee and or poop.

When I got home, ffiiiaammm I brought out mackintosh and cut into the size I wanted, cut wrapper and told my baby from today we start using the potty.. After she sold her first diaper and I clean her up, I will put her on the mackintosh with wrapper and start putting her on the potty. Is it Difficult? YES because we sometimes stay 20 minutes playing without a single wee sadbut the moment I put her back on bed, she releases the tap cheesy. but there's no going back.

Gradually she began to pee and even poo in the potty. Sometimes when we wake up and she's yet to poo, I intentionally remove her diaper and we sit till she poops cos she poos every morning even if she'll still poop more, that morning own must come grin... Sometimes she'll even eb crying in the potty o after during which poop will follow grin.. This morning after we've had our bath and her diaper was on her, I heard a loud fart and quickly tapped her buttocks, removed the diaper so she can sit. Immediately she sat, loud farts and poop followed... Lest I forget, azzidents do happen too and I don't blame her or myself for it cos its a gradual process.. If she can sit on it now, it won't be a problem as she'll continue to get used to it.. I also snap and make videos of her to show her later in the future grin ;D9

Sorry about the boring story, I just hope it'll be helpful especially for mums that stays at home and also on weekends for mums that work.

Layormiii how na? I don't think anything is wrong with your bobo. Since he plays and eats well, and isn't showing any sign of discomfort.
His birthday mate here poops the same yellow, seedy, mucousy poop. Sometimes 4-6 times in a day. That's how we roll grin

He's probably constipated. Pour warm water in his bathtub or a big bowl and let him sit in the warm water for some time. It will ease the pains in case he has tears. Lubricate his anus with vaseline or shea butter next time he wants to poop. Gently rub in the vaseline so that the poop can pass without much pain to the young lad.
Now, please increase his water intake and give him oranges to help soften his poop. Kisses to your son.

Good morning everyone, pls I need help my 11 months old Boy started pooping solid on Monday and he cried so badly before he could get it out,so I instructed my wife to always give him water with the hope that it will help soften the poop next time but to our surprise last night the episode repeated itself and I almost join him in crying cos I cud not bear to see him cry that much pls wat can we do to help him?

Posts like this make me want to laugh and frown at the same time. Frown when I remember how I used to stress over getting my children to walk once they clocked a year. I laugh too because I'm yet to see any adult that they say he/she can stand but cannot walk. So why the stress.
What am I trying to say? Relax. Rest your mind jare. These children walk when they want to. Every child hits those milestones at their own pace. Those that started walking by 10 months, are they now running faster than Usain Bolt grin . Keep holding her hands to assist her. Sometimes leave her at a spot and stretch out a snack she likes towards her to see if she will be motivated to walk on her own.

One of my kids started walking at 1 year 3 months, another one at 9 months. The latter doesn't walk or run faster than the first one cheesy
Keeky08:
Hello mamas, please my DD is 15 months and is still not walking. Since she clocked 8 months, she has been holding things and moving around them, also, she walks if I hold one of her hands. Please I donโ€™t know what to do again because she even achieved every other milestone quickly except walking. I cry myself to sleep every night and Iโ€™m slowly getting depressed, family members are also not helping at all because they feel Iโ€™m not teaching her. I currently live alone with just my DD and Iโ€™m working so I hardly even have time to teach her too, even times when I do, itโ€™s as if she gets worse the next day. Has anyone had this kind of experience before? What did you do?

Please Iโ€™d appreciate a quick response because Iโ€™m slowly loosing it.

Ps: please pardon any typos because Iโ€™m crying as I type this

I started with learning individual sounds, then proceeded to words, sentences next and finally conversations. They're all on YouTube.

Mind you, your child may even start reading faster than they talk initially but at the end everything will fall in place.

Hi! It's been a while you know, over 3 years ago, so I've deleted them. Learn to read is on YouTube. Mrs Phipps teaches the way to pronounce each alphabet. Play and pause, and allow your child to mimick her. Applaud the child even if they don't get it right.

Download different sight words as much as you can.

Hello dear. I read your post earlier but waited to see if any mama would recommend any good therapist. I had same challenge about 3 years ago. My daughter, 3 going on 4 years then couldn't even pronounce her own name. Couldn't call me mummy. So heartbreaking. Registered her in school when she was 2yrs 4 months, it didn't help. Searched for a good speech therapist, I didn't see.

Last last I took matters into my own hands. Read up online about speech therapy, watched YouTube videos, got some ideas from the course outlines of some online speech therapists; and na so I became her therapist o. It took a lot of prayers, time, and tears (on both sides). Frustrating, I must confess. But when the efforts started paying off I was super grateful to God. She started speaking so well by age 4, with an American accent fah. Still has the same accent till date (she will clock 7 this year). Courtesy of mummy's speech therapy.

My recommendation - if you don't see any good therapist, try D-I-Y. With God you'll soon see great results.
Get Learn to read with Mrs. Phipps and Snooty. The video helped us a lot.

God's grace!
