What exactly has GEJ got to do with this? Don't they have their own brains? Forget about pointing fingers and let's say it the way it is... GEJ has nothing on these people ... They are the aurthors of their own misfortunes all in a flash of greed... They fight amongst each other just for self satisfaction instead of putting the people first these grown lunatics put their pockets first....
Don't be naïve..can a whole detachment of DSS operatives be dispatched to the HOR with the C-in-C being oblivious of it? I don't think you people know how powerful a President is.

Nigerian troops have recently been fielding attacks against the Boko Haram sect in some town in Adamawa.

The pictures below of the troops’ activities in Gombi, Pelia, And Hong , were circulated through a press release from the Nigerian military, Saharareporters have provided.

The operation, which has been described as “Operation No Mercy Against Terrorists,” have been aimed at bringing an end to terrorism in the state.

The pictures here are from the military operations in Gombi, Pelia and Hong in Adamawa State, where the Nigerian troops mercilessly dealt with the terrorists with the recovery of the towns as well as their destroyed vehicles, hideouts, weapons and ammunitions. While some of the terrorists have been captured alive others were killed in the operation. The Nigerian troops too could be seen in action.

The ongoing military operations in the North-Eastern Nigeria is to clear all areas infested by terrorists.

Mopping up exercise is ongoing in the areas while the troops are moving to other communities in what a top security officer described as ‘Operation No Mercy against Terrorists.”

You're right on the money on isolated FOBs. Hence my for transport helicopters and additional attack helos + fixed wing multi role combat aircrafts that can carry a decent payload and can loiter on target for longer periods.
Super Tucanos..you just read my mind..we need Close Air Support aircraft more than Fighter Jets...Super Tucanos can support advancing battalions for hours..fighter jets on the other hand will do well for precision strikes..Tucanos are what we need. They have a HUGE array of options..4 Tucanos can support 2 entire battalions for hours..we were hunting for them about 2 yrs ago..where are they? They will do a lot more than the JF-17s the NAF is bidding for now.

I'm I the only one thinking the reason the corrupt COAS has decided to silent Sirusblack, is because of the 40 helicopters and other weapons they said to be acquiring soon and money budgeted to persecute this war, and with the contributions of experienced people on the thread who seem to know much about weapons and cost, and the COAS is trying to silent every means of them been exposed when they finally pull the trigger as in embezzle our money, without procuring any weapon. If the weapon is purchased or not, sirusblack and others in the house will be aware and inform us, or should they try to inflate we also know.
You must be a prophet..the story played out EXACTLY as you predicted! Till today, no 40 gunships anywhere!!..no JF-17, no nothing!

Excellent point on the AAA mounted technicals. But won't the insurgents still have an edge in terms of mobility, cos IFvs tend to be heavier compared to these technicals?
Very true..from what I've seen from BH's videos, their gameplan is pretty simple..
1. Overwhelm N.A positions with Zsu-23-2s and ZPU-mounted guntrucks.
2. Crazed insurgents in Dshks and other 14.5mm HMG flank N.A positions at ranges the N.A's heaviest MG (M2 Browning) 7.62x51mm shell can't answer to.
3. Foot soldiers storm positions using RPGs to supress N.A defences.
4. N.A military installations siezed, insurgents resupplied with captured ammo.
5. Insurgents fan out and establish ambush points for N.A counter-attacks.

The insurgents have something the N.A doesn't have..FIREPOWER and MOBILITY..AMISOM forces are having a field day in Somalia most likely because they don't face the amount of firepower the Nigerian Insurgents possess..
The way foward for the N.A.
1. Induct 500-800 Zsu-23-2 mounted guntrucks..to be spread across N.A battalions.
2. S.F teams introduced to designate targets for N.A artillery.
3. Total N.A retreat from territories that hold no strategic significance..for manpower to be injected in offensive operations.
4. Launch massive operation to retake territories with newly inducted technicals leading, Steyrs and IGIRIGIs providing infantry mobility,Toyotas for logistics support while M-2 mounted Otokar Cobras and VBLs outflanking insurgent positions..all with Artillery shells softening insurgent defences.

One by One, with each operation, captured territories will be liberated..the tactic of establishing FOBs across such a massive front is a recipe for ambushes..Since the NAF can't offer the necessary support, the N.A has to begin to demand more from its officers and men.

I don't think replacing the Otokar Cobra is a good. I suggest it's still retained and used as standard troop transport along with the Igirigi. Or, like the VBL, used as a recce vehicle for armoured units. But we need to get those soft skinned Hilux and Rangers off the front lines.
Its not possible to fully replace the hilux vehicles with the Igirigi..but its a good place to start..its more economical than the needless "Bigfoot" MRAPS...but it still doesn't solve the MAJOR problem that the N.A is facing in the N.E..which is insurgent AAA mounted technicals..its high time we begin to build a cheap IFV; small, highly mobile and fitted with a 30mm cannon..exclusively for combat.

AgustaWestland has recently shipped the first of two VIP AW101s to the Nigerian Air Force. The manufacturer flew the helicopter from its Yeovil factory in the UK to London Stansted Airport, where technicians dismantled the aircraft and stored it in a hangar ready for the flight. On a similar assignment in 2013, inclement weather conditions had led to the AN-124 being positioned partially inside the Diamond Hangar in order to protect the helicopter during loading; the same procedure was adopted for this latest movement.
The helicopter was transported from Stansted to Africa on a custom-built cradle specially-designed to enable the aircraft to fit into the AN-124. With an overall height of 4.38m, the helicopter on its transit chassis was a tight fit through the aircraft’s nose door, with only centimetres to spare. With the additional support equipment and spares, the entire load weighed a total of 60,000 kilos. The support equipment, which was provided by AgustaWestland, was subsequently returned to the UK by Ruslan International on another of its fleet. Ruslan is a joint-venture company that manages and markets the 17 AN-124 freighters belonging to its owners, Antonov Airlines and Volga Dnepr Airlines, and they partnered with leading German charter broker Karpeles Flight Services (part of DB Schenker) on this shipment.
Nigeria has bought two AW101 helicopters for their VIP flight, and this is believed to be the first one, which carries the Nigerian Air Force code of 280 and AW serial number 50251. Both were originally part of the Indian order for 12.

Not a question, but an "observation"....If a girl actually likes you, how you approach her won't matter..Once she gets cold upon approach, it simply means she doesn't want you..from experience, a girl who wants you will make it work..irrespective of circumstances.
