All conspiracy theories will come out today. It's desk skinned females from Ebonyi State that are getting first. Then light skinned Adamawa men that studied engineering and did their AC in PH on the last day that will get next. After that Yoruba boys and girls that studied English and did their AC in Abuja on the 5th day.

After that it would be ogbono-eating Jiwaga state female engineers, followed by men who have the letter "a" starting their middle names....lmao

For the notion that says there's no right or wrong answers for fact finding....

I wonder and I'm still wondering. How will it not be wrong to forge ahead with HumanIt Care despite:
1. Such huge allegations of arms proliferations in Africa.
2. The non-disclosure of their process and procedures.
3. There strict zero cooperation clause.

The Charity says you can only donate and walk away. No accountability and you can't poke nose them. I'm wondering whether I missed something or Action Aid also has some big issue I didn't uncover.

There is no wrong or right answer.

If anyone has credible materials on the Fact Finding Exercise, kindly share. It’s the only one that I’m finding hard to get much explanation/resources on. Thank you.

If one of the experienced candidates can tell us also how their own Fact finding went, the question, their answer and approach, will be greatly appreciated.

@Airsaylong, please I currently work with a financial institution and I am at the AC stage now. I have an existing financial obligation here, please I woild like to know what the monthly stipend is during TS to enable me plan accordingly.

I am not about what the annual pay is as I am focused on preparing adequately for the AC. However, I need an information on the pay during TS to enable me plan my repayment.
Thanks

What is TS?

With the group exercise, there are three roles that need to be filled. For want of a better word, I will call the first role the “chairman”. The others are the secretary and the time keeper. A lot of people fall into the “trap” of wanting to have one of these roles in the hope that it will guarantee them a good score. But I assure you that you don’t need to hold any of these roles to do well on this exercise. I did not hold any of them. That is not to discourage anyone from aspiring to get any of those roles.

The “chairman” is responsible for coordinating and directing the meeting. S/he is in charge of the discussions and sees to it that all the point’s mentioned in the brief are covered. The secretary documents all the agreements and action points and who is responsible for the action points. The time keeper ensures that the discussions are done in a timely manner. So they’d be promoting the group how much time is left.

Many people have the misconception that you had to be vocal, even combative to stand out. But no, that wasn’t my experience. You have to be active and make meaningful contributions to the discourse. And be seen to do so. Make your point, justify why it’s a valid point. There were 10 examiners, one for each of us. And they sat facing each of us directly. So they are looking at your body language, and overall contribution to the meeting.

I chose not to target any of these roles, but to drive the conversation around selecting those who filled the roles. In the words of Mazi, one of the very good GTs who got hired, “I chose to be a situational leader”. So I looked at those who aspired for the roles and threw my weight behind whoever looked like a good fit.

This. Say thanks @Sammy...

I dey laugh o! This your post reminds me of the song: "Dem go see you finish, dem go finish your biscuit".

It is outright stupid for anyone to come here and "let people know about their experience" according to you. You are not doing anyone any favours. Do you personally know anyone here? So why hand your opponent the advantage? But feel free to "let people know your own experience".

Like someone jokingly said earlier "He who fights and runs away will learn to fight better next time".

After reading the 2013 GT thread, and realising that only about 10% or less people that wrote the SHL test made it to the assessment center, it is not out of place to be 'selfish', if one chooses to see it like that.
The competition is stiff. Nobody owes you anything.

One thing we must note is that the test is proctored.

Be very sure not to have unnecessary eye movements, that could insinuate that you are cheating or trying to.

Your webcam would pick it up, and that could cost you quite a lot.

I don’t think invites will come before January. Exams most likely in February. Mostly personal opinion and from previous experience

Thanks airsaylongcome. From previous experience, this is correct. However, I will suggest we all prepare like we are having it tomorrow. For all we know, we might receive test invites before the end of December.
My opinion too...lol

Just to emphasize, there are NO PAST QUESTIONS! NONE! Past questions suggest that previous candidates were allowed to go home with copies of the questions they answered. Which did not happen even in 2007 when it was a paper-based test. The best you can get are practice material which are a close approximation of the questions you'd meet. Anyone peddling "past questions" is telling a blatant lie. They do not exist. Leverage the practice materials you can get. The most important thing is to use them for what they are: PRACTICE. They will help you sharpen your ability to answer the questions, but they will not be the exact questions you'd get on exam day. Think of them as "sparring partners". Boxers get sparring partners that closely reflect the fighting style of the opponent. So they have the sparring partner to learn how to confront the real opponent. NLNG job is a life changing opportunity. I wish you all the very best as you prepare. And may the best of you rise to the occasion. Good luck and godspeed

If you don't know the topic of discussion then stick to what you know...

Someone raised the issue of disparity and that's what we are talking about...

If you want to talk about the recruitment no one stopped you...

Just don't respond off point to issues

Thank you.

Some of us argue offpoint sorry to say...

The issue on hand is whether or not there is disparity, and not whether or not one would take the offer....

Actually, the discussion of disparity or no disparity in Tech/Ops or Graduate Trainees is off-point and a big distraction.

Conversations should center around the recruitment, adequate preparation for the SHL tests, and the subsequent stage(s) .

You do not want to bother yourself with things you have no control of.

Success all.

Considering the fact that the FG has announced that HND = BSc, the fact that they both enter at different levels is enough to prove disparity in salaries...

If there is no actual disparity, then why don't they enter in at the same level

Well, that's life. As no be any of us get company. One can always choose to decline the offer or work somewhere else.

he has been in the system but he don't know the actual salary for HND that is it been in the system doesn't grantee you knw salary of all Cader hope you knw that. There difference is one grade and that will not make difference of 60% in a pay yes their will be a difference. the current HND guys are doing training how can you compare training allowance for HND and salary of BSc graduate and make a conclusion, if they finish their training and you have privacy of known their salary then you can conclude your 60% or 46% difference but nw he only knw BSC graduate salary he doesn't knw HND own

Correct. There is no such disparity in salaries. Tech/Ops and Graduate Trainees join the company at different salary levels. They are paid the equivalent salary level for which they are employed. And they are all considered as direct staff of the company.

However, I think I get where @airsaylongcome is coming from. No pun intended

I expect new GTs to resume in September or October next year. The 2013 recruitment was an outlier. Applications opened in November 2013, and GTs resumed in September 2017.

Regarding pay difference between engineering and business graduates, there is a small, repeat, small difference in pay with engineers earning slightly more. This is due to allowances they get for living in remote Bonny. Basic pay and all other allowances are the same across board of I remember correctly.

Nice work airsaylongcome
....
Drop in global price of crude
Ebola in 2014
Election in 1st quarter of 2015 (Interestingly there would also be elections early next year. Not expected to cause any delays, though)...

These listed above caused the delays for the last Graduate trainee recruitment. Really an outlier.
