Buhari has lost it. This is one of the reasons I wouldn't want this old man to return to power. Let him leave the stage for younger generation. Anyway, he'll surely lose again. 2003, 2007, 2011 and now 2015 will still end up the same way. He remains a Specialist in Failure.

PoliticsJonathan Is Playing Politics With National Security — Buhari by ceo4eva(op):
FORMER Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has accused the President Goodluck Jonathan administration of playing to the gallery on security, a reason he argued has made the Boko Haram insurgency assume a dangerous dimension in the last four years.
Reacting to a statement by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, accusing him of playing politics with the insurgency and unpatriotically refusing to join hands with Federal Government to address the problem until he is elected president, Buhari said he is “disheartened by the grotesque characterization of his personality” by PDP.
He insisted that Boko Haram will be a thing of the past if he is elected, adding that he remains a patriot who played crucial roles in getting Jonathan sworn-in as acting president in 2010.
In a statement by Engr. Rotimi Fashakin, the presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, said he is “horrified by the bare-faced falsehood, insidious fallacy and scurrilous untruth contained in the statement of the ruling party, just for the purpose of cheap political agenda, bearing similarities with the despicable Emperor Nero, who was fiddling while Rome burned.
“It is an irreproachable fact that Boko Haram insurgency has assumed this intolerably dangerous dimension in the last four years, because this regime has chosen to play devious politics with a national calamity.
“The same known founders of the dreaded insurgency group have become the confidants of the President. On September 9, in Djamena, Chad, Nigeria’s President, Chadian President and one of these elements were photographed in a meeting together.
“At that time, APC, through its spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said inter-alia: ‘This action by President Jonathan confirms what APC has always believed.
“‘That the President either knows more than he is willing to admit on the issue of those who are behind the Boko Haram insurgency or he is willing to sacrifice the battle against terrorism on the altar of political expediency’.
“While Nigerian villages, schools and markets were easily overrun with maniacal fury by the insurgent group because of inadequate security, this same individual enjoyed very large armada of security men provided by the government of Jonathan.
“Aside his show of undisguised patriotic love for Nigeria in his glorious career in the Nigerian military, General Buhari has always shown statesman-like interventions at critical times in the nation’s current democratic order.
In January 14, 2010, whilst a tiny cabal tried to hold the entire nation to ransom, thus preventing the Vice President Goodluck Jonathan from assuming the role of Acting President, General Muhammadu Buhari led a delegation of patriotic Nigerians to the Senate, with a passionate plea to the Upper Legislative chamber to do the needful for the continuity of governance in the country.
“In May 8, after the abduction of over 270 school girls in Chibok, Borno State, and as part of rallying the citizenry towards cooperation with the Federal Government in the fight against Insurgency, General Buhari wrote inter-alia:
“‘Let these people know that the entire civilized world is united against their terrorist act. We are grateful to the world for standing by Nigeria at this trying time. We hope and pray that the young ladies will be reunited with their respective families in the days to come.’
Preaches unity
“Now is not the time to play politics. Now is also not the time to trade blames and amplify our ideological differences.
“The unity of Nigeria is not negotiable and nothing should divide us as a people.
“Without a doubt, PDP leaders are awfully wrong in believing that their blinkered view of the nation’s affairs, due to the affliction of selective amnesia, can detract from the determination of Nigerians to use their votes to effect the desired change in the leadership of the nation in February 2015.”

Kudos to our security agencies. Of late, we seem to be winning the war against terrorism. Hopefully, these positive results will continue till we completely win the battle. We'll get there by God's grace!
PoliticsSuspected Female Terrorist Arrested In Maiduguri With Bomb In Food Flask by ceo4eva(op): 2:36am On Dec 05, 2014
IT was a defeat of the power of evil secrecy Thursday as security agents arrested a suspected female suicide bomber who would have blown up the General Shuwa Memorial Hospital, Maiduguri and killed the health workers and the patients they labour hard to treat.
The suspected bomber, a fairly old woman, who was said to have been confronted first by the hospital’s security guards, was arrested after it was discovered that she hid an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a food flask she was carrying.
According to the hospital authorities, the suspected terrorist disguised as a relation of a female patient who had come to present food at the maternity ward. But when she was stopped at the gate to open the two food flasks she was carrying before she could be allowed to proceed to the ward, she refused to open one of the flasks.
One of the hospital’s security guards narrated the story to journalists: “When she was asked to open the other flask, she refused, swearing that she will not open it. Our security guards have to call the soldiers at a military post to ascertain whether or not the flask contains any explosive. Three minutes after, the bomb detector
beeped for some seconds, indicating the presence of an explosive device, and the old
woman was immediately whisked way by the military personnel to an unknown destination for further interrogation and investigation.”
On the identity of the suspect, he said that when the woman was asked about her place of residence, she responded that: “I am an old woman from Chibok town, and I wanted to deliver food to one of my relations admitted here in this hospital.”
Three hours after the arrest of the suspect, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) patrolling the airport road also arrested two Boko Haram suspects near the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) base and the Airport Roundabout by 2.31pm.
“The two suspects boarded a tricycle and taxi from the Tashan Journey near the 333 Nigerian Army Artillery, before they were intercepted by our members here at this check point in Gomari ward. They attempted fleeing, but we had to stop them from fleeing from the vehicles, and God was on our side to recover a rifle and a pistol hidden under their jeans pants,” said Yusuf Bala, brandishing a cutlass that assisted him in the arrests.
He said the fleeing Boko Haram insurgents from last Monday’s attacks in Damaturu, are infiltrating Maiduguri to hide and possible launch attacks in the metropolis.
“Our job was to patrol all the nooks and crannies of Maiduguri with stop and search of all vehicles moving in and out of this city. These arrested suspects had been handed over to soldiers in our sector for further interrogations and investigation,” said Bala.
A source in the Borno State Police Command also yesterday told The Guardian that two terror suspects were arrested by the CJTF in Gomari ward, including an old woman allegedly carrying explosives in a food flask at one of the hospitals in Government Reservation Area (GRA), Maiduguri.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun has attributed the nation’s security challenges to the failure of the PDP-led Federal Government to provide purposeful leadership.
He said insurgence were left unchecked for several years which eventually turn the northern part of the country to a warfare field expressed regret that the country could hardly boast of quality chain of intelligence gathering to counter unabated restiveness.
Oyegun who led the national leadership of the APC on condole visit to governor Rabiu Musa Owankwaso over last Friday multiple attacks on the Kano Central Mosque, announced donation of N5 million to Kano State to assist the victims of the attack.
He alleged that those who are entrusted with the protection of lives and properties are acting in a way and manner that can be described as connivance.

Remarks by His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR At the Conferment of the 2104 Nigerian National Order of Merit Award on Professor Niyi Osundare (Humanities) At the Council Chambers, State House Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Thursday 4th December, 2014

PROTOCOLS

1. Today’s occasion of the conferment of the 2014 Nigerian National Order of Merit Award, is in celebration of the brilliance, hard work and dedication of Professor Niyi Osundare.

2. The Nigerian National Order of Merit Award is the highest and most prestigious honour this nation bestows on its citizens at home and in the Diaspora for creativity as well as intellectual and academic contributions of national and international significance.

3. It is encouraging to note that since its establishment, 35years ago, the integrity of this esteemed Award has been preserved through a rigorous and painstaking assessment exercise. In the areas of Science, Engineering/Technology, Medicine, Humanities and other fields of human endeavour, the award standard had never fallen below expectation.

4. With only one awardee this year, the total number of Nigerians who have been honoured, now stands at 71. This merit-driven evaluation procedure underlying the selection of the winners of the award must be maintained.

5. I have no doubt that Professor Niyi Osundare, our awardee this year, meets our nation’s expectation, and like others that have received this prestigious award, will hold high the banner of creativity and intellectual development.

6. There is no doubt also, that the knowledge, expertise and contributions of today’s recipient, will be of immense benefit to our overall development agenda, and in particular, the successful implementation of this Administration’s Transformation Efforts.

7. Professor Niyi Osundare, you are today admitted into this very admirable, respected and distinguished class of Nigerians as its 71st member of the body of the Nigerian National Order of Merit Laureates. Congratulations!

8. By your remarkable achievements, you have put our nation on a high global pedestal and made Nigeria proud. I will like to urge you to sustain your interest in writing and research at the present level of excellence, and impart directly and by inspiration, your rich repertoire to all and sundry, especially our upcoming generation.

9. Our government will not only study the recommendations in the communiqué of the 7th Annual Forum of the Laureates, we will also continue to support your initiative, efforts and solutions to major problems in our country. The report of the committee on the actvities of the Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA) is also being studied by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and recommendations from there will be implemented.

10. I had earlier in 2010 approved an increase in the statutory cash prize attached to the award from 5million naira to 10million naira per recipient, with the hope that this award will inspire young generations of researchers to follow the footsteps of awardees.

11. I will like to assure you that the Federal Government supports the Endowment Fund of the NNMA and will take necessary steps to strenghten the NNMA. With respect to the NNMA Endowment Fund, Government will prioritize the stipulation of the NNMA Act that the NNMA is to “institute measures designed to promote intellectual and academic excellence among Nigerians for this purpose and shall liaise with academic, professional and research institutions in Nigeria”. Through the office of the SGF, action has already commenced on the proposed NNMA Policy Group and the establishment of the National Research and Development Fund.

12. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, my administration will continue to promote excellence on merit as we strive to enhance rapid development and nationhood. In this regard, we welcome the new initiatives by NNMA to promote excellence.

Good one from Mr President!
Most Nigerians do forget that they also have their state Governors, Senators, Reps, LG Chairmen and other elected public office holders to question for poor performance in office. We only place emphasis on the President to perform every duties, even the job of state Governors, while leaving out other office holders to perpetrate corruption and fraud at the highest level. Nigeria will be a better place if we all learn to hold all public office holders accountable for their Actions and not just the President!
