Let's stop fooling ourselves. Jonathan messed up no doubt but had it been that it was another man from south east or South south that contested, it wouldn't have changed the voting pattern we saw on Saturday.

PoliticsRe: Why I Owe Osun Workers 5 Months Salary – Aregbesola by cfame1(m): 1:26pm On Mar 26, 2015
adebisi000:
Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun on Wednesday opened up on his inability to pay the salaries of workers in the state for five months, blaming it on “declining federal allocation.”

The governor made the open confession at the 7th Bola Tinubu Colloquium organised to mark Tinubu’s 63rd birthday in Lagos.

He said he was deeply pained and unhappy that he had not been able to pay workers salaries.

“I have found it hard to pay the wage bills owing to the declining federal allocation to the state.

“Federal allocation to the state has reduced by 40 per cent since 2013, making it difficult for government to meet up its responsibilities,” he said.

Aregbesola said the situation became so bad at a time that he resorted to the state’s reserves and exhausted it on payment of salaries.

The governor added that the government went ahead to accumulate debt of N12 billion in its bid to ensure that salaries were paid.

He said that he would not mind to borrow more “just to ensure that workers were paid but the “banks would not grant more loans.”

He said: “Osun is next to Lagos in the sheer size of its civil service.

“In fact, the state inherited 50 per cent of all the workers in the old western state and more than 75 per cent in the old Oyo State.

“I was meeting my wage bill of over N3.6 billion with N4.6 billion federal allocation until July, 2013 when the Federal Government announced a decline of about 40 per cent allocation to states.

“This reduced the state’s allocation from N4.6 billion with which I was meeting my bills to N2.6 billion.

“Since then, Osun has had to augment salaries by sometimes N1 billion, sometimes N1.6 billion.

“Before the last time I paid salaries in November, 2014, I have had to either spent the state’s reserves on salaries or borrow money.

“Today, I have a loan of N12 billion that we spent on salaries and I could not go to the banks anymore.”

The governor said that his administration remained pro-workers in spite of the tight corner it had found itself, pledging to pay the salary arrears as soon as the means was available.

He reiterated the commitment of his administration to the welfare of the people, adding that he had demonstrated the commitment with the implementation of a number of programmes.

He described Tinubu as “an icon through whom many great leaders had risen”

What a clumsy excuse from a failed governor from a failed party
Mr governor, ur reasons lack depth. Even if the federal allocation has been reduced by 40% does that stop you from paying at least one month salary every two months? So what happened to the 2.6billion you have been receiving since june?
For five months you have been receiving 2.6billion yet you can't even pay three months salary. Change indeed!!!!!

This is a man who has been involved closely in all APC campaigns and meetings in Rivers state. Is the tide and their propaganda turning against them? Am watching closely as the events unfold especially this week.

UPDATE

Honestly, I am duty bound to let you know how things are going, the progress so far.

1. I was at the mechanic workshop for most of today. Repair on the damaged car starts Tuesday 17th with what I have right now. Items for replacement include:

a. Front Windshield
b. Headlamps
c. Trafficators
d.Bumper
c. Fender
The big picture here is to have something doing while I look for job.

2. I was at the Chinese Model School, Nyanya (its a public school close to first bank). I was told enrollment is done in September. Please if any knows the HM on personal level it will be helpful for the third term starting in April

The big picture here is to have a sustainable plan for their education no matter what the condition is.

3. My wife is on recovery path as we are able to get drugs and provide her with the necessary diet timely.

Thank you for being answers to our prayers.
I pray they pay us soon...I am willing to render my own help; the once my pocket can afford.
Were are currently on strike due to five months unpaid salaries by osun govt and that has left me broke.
I am already following the topic so dt I won't miss out once I get my pay.
May the good lord bless u.

Don't forget that the oyinbos are sophisticated people. Am sure the gas was to TEMPORARILY kill every living thing for, maybe some hours to enable the US military go in there and do the needful. Just thinking.
I see. The gas wl kill all the grasses and tree sparing the girls. Plesse where and where have they used this method of urs in rescue mission? Just name one.

IF THIS IS TRUE (WHICH IT SHOULD BE); THEN THE LEADERSHIP OF APC SHOULD BE QUESTIONED.

Buhari SAID HE WILL MAKE JONATHAN's GOVERNMENT UNGOVERNABLE AFTER LOSING THE 2011 ELECTION.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT STATEMENT, NORTHERN NIGERIA WAS IN DISARRAY.

TO THE U.S MILITARY; THE ANSWER ISN'T FAR FETCHED. APC LEADERS LEAKED THE INFO TO THE BH BOYS.
The problem with us is that we ar no longer objective in our thinking. They wanted to gas the terrorists sparing the girls. So the terror is ts was going to give the girls face masks na to spare them. Smh

I love this state, and the towns that make up the state. I dont know if I will ever like to live anywhere else but Enugu, the way of life of the citizens of Enugu seems to be the best in the country.

Enugu people are very accomodating, hardworking and yet humble. We have everything here and yes, Enugu is working.

In this thread, I will try to change the perception of people about how bad or negative Nigeria is, lets start from where we are. I expect everyone to do something, lets stop the negativity for a while and focus on our positives. There are more good things in Nigeria than bad. You only need to look for it and see it.

I will flood this thread with so many pictures that people will complain, I have about 150 pictures loaded (more will be added this new week), I am ready to paste them here but I will post those in the evening, many towns were covered, many of our landmarks are here. The good, the moderately good and the terrible.

But let me just be posting and typing words for now, explaining some facts about Enugu.
I rep 042. Ezike to be precise.

If you follow media propaganda, you will think that the people of Osun state are in eldorado. This is unacceptable. We shall resist this evil
Bro I work in osun state...osogbo to be precise.my colleague hates pdp more than devil. He spares nothing to criticise jonathan. This is because the governor told them that his federal allocations are either delayed or drastically reduced because of their different political views.
Funny enough this same guy woukd zoom off to lagos at any slightest opportunity. In fact, as I speak he is in lagos. If there is anyone that is clueless its the governor and his blind followers.
He lacks visions and foresight! Before the election last August, he paid two months arrears and paid subsequently even before the end of the month. They hailed him but I told them all these things a re just because he needs their votes.they rebrebuked meeven my colleague; a die hard apc puppet. Now we are all feeling it.
Guess what..all those people that sang his praises now deny voting for him!
Am happy its backfiring now at least before thw general elections
But I know one thing....He will collect loans to pay before elections to suggest that all is well.
