I am not commenting based on assumptions but based facts on ground. I was opportuned to have an MTN direct staff at the same call center who gave me the gist of what transpired all those while. Mtn has about 20 permanent staffs there and they know what have been going on. At a stage they themselve went on solidarity protest for the CNSSL staffs.

rman: You are free to resign instead of holding a private company to ransom. Your response is based on sentiments. All teachers in Nigeria dont earn same salary, All engrs in the same MTN doing the same job dont earn the same salary, all sales representatives in MTN dont earn the same salary. Everyone got what was stated in the employment letter. Did MTN reduce the agreed salary?

I once got a job that I felt the pay and the working conditions is not favorable. I resigned after just one month. I didnt go on strike nor tried to bully them to pay me more.
What most young job seekers in Nigeria have in common is a sense of entitlement as a graduate. If you truly think the value you bring is more than a company pays, believe me, it is just a matter of time before that job that pays better will find you.

All these graduate stuff is actually overated.

My problem with them is that; they are trying to convince the whole world that they are leaving plateau state because of insecurity, why not be bold and tell the world that her staffs are demanding too much from them and that's why they are leaving? Why not tell the world that their primcipal (MTN) is not giving her (CNSSL) enough to meet the demands of her employees and because that they are out of business?

FACT: CNSSL is just one of the companies MTN Call Centers are outsourced to and I know for a fact that that some call centers in Lagos and some other parts are outscourced to other companies, therefore you cant expect that all Call centers will have the same salary structure. It all about the negotiation between the each provider and the call center agents they hire.

If as an employee you accept and sign and agreement for a job, you freely agree to all the terms and conditions including the renumeration.You cant turn around and cry foul, when you willingly accepted the Job, while I can agree that the laws of Nigeria are not firm and enforced, but at the end of the day a contract is a contract its as simple as that.

We dont know for sure that MTN hasnt chosen to disengage CNSSL as Call Center Service providers, I also know for a fact that the Office in Jos houses, MTN staff of various departments as well as the call Center and am sure those staff arent going anywhere.

It might just be CNSSL trying to save face using insecurity as their PR strategy.

I have it as a fact that its same CNSSL that controls Lagos, kano, kaduna and Ilorin centerz. They took over Lagos, kano and kaduna centerz from MEMCOS starting from April this year. CNSSL started Ilorin center which they took staffs from Jos call center down to the place to train their Ilorin staffs. So, take it or leave it, but I know what I'm taking about.

The staffs laid a complain that's why It's picketed? And nobody is arguing weda MTN has the right to close down any of their offices anytime they want but, if they are doing so, they should be bold enough to tell the world the truth behind such closure. Not hiding under unfound reasons.

Yes, they were not directly employed by MTN, but it's same CNSSL that is seeing the welfare of other call centers like kano, kaduna, Ilorin and Lagos still controls that os Jos. Why are they paying those in Jos far lesser than those in other branches? Those guys are ingrates, bcs of the name they made in Jos gave them the contracts of other locations and still they do not appreciate that.

I have noticed that all the people commenting here didn't get it at all! CNSSL did not close down their operation in Jos bcs of any security threat rather they went out bcs the are not ready to do the right thing. What I mean is that there had been an issue of salary struggles bw CNSSL ans their workerz since march this year. The problem led to the workers embarking on strike since the first of may (ie for the past 3months) and talks have been going on, but @last the CNSSL decided and vowed that they cannot pay Jos staff the same thing they are paying their Kadunna and Kano counterpart. Them coming out and telling the world that they are closing down operations in Jos due to security threats, is a big lie. Let me ask them, if it's bcs of security threats as they claimed, why is their connect stores located in same Jos not packing up as well. Again, is kano and kaduna not having the same security issues? Lets learn to be telling ourselves the truth in this country.

You must have formated ur phone while u still have some of the application u installed in your memory card before the formatting. The two ways you can solve the problem is either u format ur memory card or u reinstall the apps on you memory card. I use same E63. I do experience such if I format my phone memory without formating the memory card too.

Your right, it's not even all the mtn pulse customers have this offer, it's like its their customers that have been dormant for sometime, they want to use it to win back such customers. I have a sim that is a beneficiary of the 5k/sec for one special number and it have been good. I ll be using it to call that my special number untill july 31st when the promo ends. With hundred naira, I call that number as if I'm making free night call.

Etisalat is only good for data and nothing more nothing less. Every week I recharge N200 for a free 15mb and that's all. Whatever promo they are doing is not my concern.

Let the state government be ready to battle an outburst of armed robbers. Banning of okada where 70% of the youth depends on it for a living is like inviting the devil himself to your dinner. When those boys are busy with their okada, they will not think of any evil 'cos they are getting something out it. But when you take their source of livelihood away from them, then your openely inviting chaos in the state.

bigx: Its not wickedness, you can't compare the work an operative in Jos does to what one in Lagos does. Companies are built for profitability not for dashing out big salaries for nothing.
If they don't like the salary they can leave and start a business and see how happy they would be paying 120k per month to staff practically idling about.

If ur comparing the lagos working environment and Jos environment and the profit making, what about the environmental risks/crisis prone environment like Jos? Moreso, what about their counter part in Kano and Kaduna that recieves the same pay with the Lagos guys? MTN as an organisation that give out this contract to those organisation/contractors pay them a unified salary structure. Now, tell the reason why these guys' case should be different?

zangality: Staff of the Jos Call Centre of MTN, a telecommunications
operator, on Tuesday took to the streets to protest the
suspension of 10 of their members.
The staff, clad in MTN Yellow T-Shirts, claimed that their
colleagues were suspended by CNSSL, the consultant outfit
managing the centre for the telecommunications company.
They took over some major streets in the city, chanting
solidarity songs and asked the company management
to reinstate the affected staff.
The protesting staff said those suspended are six union
executive committee members and four others.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the staff
carried placards, some of which read ``Say `No’ to slave
wage'', and ``MTN and CNSSL are partners in crime''.
Others carried placards with inscriptions such as
``Nigerians are slaves to South Africans, what a pity'', and
``Enough is enough, no more slavery''.
The protesting staff were, however, orderly and peaceful as
they were surrounded by some policemen and men of the
security Special Task Force.
NAN gathered that this was ostensibly to avoid any
breakdown of law and order.
NAN recalls that the staff had last Tuesday protested
against management's plans to suspend the officials.
This was after the affected staff were reportedly compelled
to sign their suspension letters.
It would be recalled that the Call Centre staff were allowed
to form a union after the centre was picketed on March 14,
2012 by NLC over alleged poor conditions of service.
In the Memorandum of Understanding signed then by the
NLC and the CNSSL management, the latter had permitted
the workers to join unions of their choice.
Immediately after this, an interim executive committee was
installed.
Paul Afolabi, the acting Chairman of the Call Centre's
branch of the National Union of Telecommunications
Employees, claimed that the affected staff had done
nothing wrong to warrant any suspension.
Afolabi told NAN in an interview that CNSSL management
and NLC agreed then that nobody would be victimised,
thus leading to the opportunity to form unions.
He wondered why the formation of the union should be a
worry to the company.
``This is a ploy to divert attention from the issues on
ground. We will not be deterred until they improve our
conditions of service.
``The difference between what we take in Jos here and
those of other call centres in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna is
just too much,'' the union official said.
He said, as a way of pressing home their demands, the
staff would not honour the slated meeting with the
management on May 3, 2012 unless the workers were
recalled.
Afolabi had told NAN the meeting was earlier scheduled in
order to address the issues at hand.
``The management must recall our suspended members
before negotiations will continue,'' he vowed.
Efforts to speak with Jibrin Bancir, the Plateau NLC
Chairman, proved abortive as calls to his mobile phone
lines were not going through.
The management of the centre, on its part, refused to talk
to NAN on the matter after several efforts.(NAN)

cnssl wicked organisation, how can you be paying a graduate 35k while their counterparts in other states are paid 120k for the same job role under thesame mtn.

mykejones: It's a virus. U must have picked up d virus during file trnasfer.
You can stl see ur music files,if you go to the music player. Under the 'option',go to 'update folder',all ur songs/videos will reappear.
The only best advice is to format the memory card though,as leaving to virus infested m card could intefere with the software of the phone. If u r nt even careful,it might just destroy the phone completely.
